Have downloaded FOC maps from Nokia website to Nokia 5800 Xpressmusic but keeps saying European licence has expired. Why do I need a licence when FOC and if need one how do I get one and still FREE?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've got German T-Mobile N97. I've been trying to "unlock" Maps on it ever since I saw that "Maps are free" ad. I've survived a couple of updates since than but nothing seams to happen. I keep getting "Your Europe navigation license has expired on X.X.X. Buy new license to continue suing navigation?" If I say Yes, I get prompted to pay fee for a month or a year. If I say No, voice guidance closes. Any idea why is this so and what can I do to get voice guidance working? Both Ovi Suite and N97 seam to be up to date: 2.2.0.245/21.0.045.

My 5800 restarts by itself 3 out of 10 times while using the OVi maps. I have tried re installing the Ovi maps. Plus the Ovi Maps does not show satelite view as shown in Google Maos application.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI got a nokia 5800 xpressmusic few months back. Phone's software is updated to version 40.2.005 and latest ovi maps v 3.04 is also present. I wanted to get the free navigation service and and connected my phone to ovi suite for downloading country maps. However, got the following error after clicking on the "update maps" section: Cannot find maps or voice guidance files in your device. this is due to either of the following reasons:
-Your device doesn't support the nokia maps application
- The maps and voice guidance files in your device are corrupted."
i have recently updated my phone(to virsion 50.0.005) and ever since it has been acting really weird. after the update, only the web browser would work. bbc iplayer, Internet app, and maps can not connect to my wifi. i get varying messages on each app saying cant connect or simular. my camera will freeze up after recording a video. somtimes when i unlock the screen it locks the screen again within 2 seconds, i have to keep sliding the unlock key untill it eventually stays unlocked.
somtimes no icons show up in the applications menu and the whole phone is slow and laggy things i have tried to solve the issues: connection destinations have all been deleted and set up again including setting prioritys.
factory reset.
uninstall/reinstalling apps.
formatted the memory card.
restored the backup i made before the update.
what else can i try?......................
when ever i try to browes or go to OVI Store i am getting license fo connect expired. But i am able to get mails!

When ever I start the navigation, after a few seconds it gives message that your license has expired and you need to go to use shop to buy new one ! I did in the past have installed the free navigation licenses which were made available from Nokia. I am interested in getting this free navigation working on my N78. Get new license?' and then each song takes a minute or so to get a new licence key.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a 5800 and have successfully updated the firmware to v31.0.101 and installed maps version 3.01, but I cannot get the free navigation to work. I have the latests maps using map loader, but every time I try and start it navigating it tells me that my license has expired. In Shops & Licences/My Licences all that is listed is 'Drive Europe - Expired on 26/10/2009'.
Shouldn't Nokia Maps 3 be free?Is there a license code I can input manually to get free drive and walk navigation? Every time I try update (in Shops & Licences/My Licences) it says that there are no updates available.
I have used Maps 2.0 last year on my N95 on vacation in Indonesia and bought a month license for spoken navigation. Needless to say this has expired, but can't be renwed (to my knowledge). This year I want to go to Indonesia again, but the online store (in my phone) only lists Europe (€ 2.99/month or € 9.99/year) now. Is there a way to obtain other regions for Maps 3.01? (I'm not counting on a free version for the N95 any time soon)
View 4 Replies View RelatedI know the free license for S60 3rd edition, Feature Pack 1 devices haven't come yet (except for E71 and E66). But nokia can give our poor old devices working on FP1 free navigation license for life time. As they used to provide free voice guided navigation for free for a week (or 7 days). So the same way they could provide our devices with free navigation for lifetime if they can't make new version of maps then. The OVI maps 3.0 works flawlessly in N82, N95. If nokia somehow decides to give the activation key for lifetime navigation then we all users would be very grateful.
So anybody who likes this post could support me and please give kudos to me. We can mail this post to nokia and if they listens poor chap's cry then we would also be among the ones using free navigation in our phones!
I have firmware 20.0.019 and Maps v3.01 but i'm still being asked for a license code or to pay 14.99 for one years license. I've used the downloads maps feature in Nokia PC Suite to get the uk maps but i keep getting the warning about my license running out (runs out 22:01 05/02/10 uk time). Any ideas on how to get the free version of drive navigation?

When i start a navigation it works fine for about 2 minutes and then flashes up the message about Navigation licesne has expired. Maps 3 navigation is free so there must be a file or series of files it is checking.

Do I have to buy it again, whenever I reinstall the software I have reinstalled Ovi Maps 2.0, 3.0 is not working on N95 8gb. I forgot to mention that i did hard reset on it using *#7370# to get rid of Ovi Maps 3.0 which was not working.

I recently updated my phone 5800 XpressMusic to latest firmware V 50.0.005 (Customer Version 50.0.005.C03.01) but I am unable to see many changes. The only changes that I notice are - kinetic scrolling, change in the way browser displays the page and music library. Are these the only changes? Is there a way to check officially, what all changes, is this new firmware supposed to bring in?

I have been using Nokia handsets for last 5-7 years, because I like the compatibility & reliability of Nokia phones. But this time Nokia has really disappointed me. I have bought Nokia 5800 XpressMusic on 14th-August-2009 of 16000 INR. I have bought it for that particular feature. But i havn't found any TV-Out cable in the box or such feature in the handset. I have also connected TV-Out cable of Nokia N-95 with it, but its not working. I hope, Nokia will sure make a positive solution for that devices, manufactured without this feature in August-2009 & give the relief to all its owners like me, by replacing it with new one having this feature.

And when i selected the drive to option the software asked me to renew the license O.o. Isn't navigation supposed to be free? How can I take care of this problem?

2) when I switch of and then switch on the time and date reset and phone requested to set time and date.
i have since transferred a bunch of music from my PC to my phone. however, only about 10% of all albums were able to automatically include the album art. alternatively, i had to manually add the album art for each album - provided if the album art could be found in the gallery. what's curious is that, when connected by usb to my PC, and because adobe photo starter pops up by default for any connected media device of mine, i could see that the album art images, which could not be found in the gallery (and hence unable to be manually added), were very well present somewhere in my phone. clearly, i have trouble locating them. furthermore, whenever i delete an album art image from my gallery, i can kiss the said album art goodbye from the album/music app too. my questions are:
1) where are the album art images which are floating somewhere in my phone/memory card ie. how can i locate them?...........
