View 9 RepliesI know the free license for S60 3rd edition, Feature Pack 1 devices haven't come yet (except for E71 and E66). But nokia can give our poor old devices working on FP1 free navigation license for life time. As they used to provide free voice guided navigation for free for a week (or 7 days). So the same way they could provide our devices with free navigation for lifetime if they can't make new version of maps then. The OVI maps 3.0 works flawlessly in N82, N95. If nokia somehow decides to give the activation key for lifetime navigation then we all users would be very grateful.
So anybody who likes this post could support me and please give kudos to me. We can mail this post to nokia and if they listens poor chap's cry then we would also be among the ones using free navigation in our phones!
I just downloaded the newest Maps version from here: (http://europe.nokia.com/support/product-support/maps-support/compatibility-and-download?intc=ncomsup...), installed it on my phone (Nokia N95 8GB, up to date firmware, up to date Ovi Suite and PC Suite). And when i selected the drive to option the software asked me to renew the license O.o. Isn't navigation supposed to be free? How can I take care of this problem?
View 5 Replies View RelatedFree Drive navigationFree Walk navigationFree maps and map updates" As it says on the website. I have updated my Nokia N97 to the latest firmware (2.0) and installted the map loader. I have downloaded the latest maps and installed them to the phone. Then when I try to "drive to" on the maps, it says "Your license expired on 15.11.2009" and wants me to purchase a subscription?
a) Am i doing something wrong?
b) Are they actually free?

When ever I start the navigation, after a few seconds it gives message that your license has expired and you need to go to use shop to buy new one ! I did in the past have installed the free navigation licenses which were made available from Nokia. I am interested in getting this free navigation working on my N78. View 5 Replies View RelatedIf GPS navigation is now free, why limit most of your existing customers by exclusively providing it to select models and just provide everybody with licenses? I can not imagine that it would be difficult to create a license key generator and post it on the nokia web site. Can this happen?
View 11 Replies View RelatedAs Nokia seems to have changed the model for licensing, I can't be the first person to think of simply creating a free downloadable license with an expiration date in 2099 specifically for those of us running 3.01 on E* that aren't yet on the compatibility list. The app runs fine, but I don't get little voices because of the license renewal issue that I've not enjoyed (in the US) previously. Perhaps I'm underestimating the difficulty of doing that, or perhaps 3.01 doesn't know how to do date math beyond a year.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am using the new OVI Maps now. When I Start the navigation , after about 30sec it is showing the license expired and the navigation stops. I was using the Nokia Maps earlier. How can I get rid of this old license info from my phone.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have used Maps 2.0 last year on my N95 on vacation in Indonesia and bought a month license for spoken navigation. Needless to say this has expired, but can't be renwed (to my knowledge). This year I want to go to Indonesia again, but the online store (in my phone) only lists Europe (€ 2.99/month or € 9.99/year) now. Is there a way to obtain other regions for Maps 3.01? (I'm not counting on a free version for the N95 any time soon)
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have firmware 20.0.019 and Maps v3.01 but i'm still being asked for a license code or to pay 14.99 for one years license. I've used the downloads maps feature in Nokia PC Suite to get the uk maps but i keep getting the warning about my license running out (runs out 22:01 05/02/10 uk time). Any ideas on how to get the free version of drive navigation?

Maps 3 navigation is free so there must be a file or series of files it is checking.

View 11 Replies View RelatedWe know that Maps are free on Nokia phones. But when I installed the Ovi maps on my Nokia e71, it says that my India navigation license has expired on 14-2-1009 and I have to renew it. Why would that be? How do I start using my free maps?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've got German T-Mobile N97. I've been trying to "unlock" Maps on it ever since I saw that "Maps are free" ad. I've survived a couple of updates since than but nothing seams to happen. I keep getting "Your Europe navigation license has expired on X.X.X. Buy new license to continue suing navigation?" If I say Yes, I get prompted to pay fee for a month or a year. If I say No, voice guidance closes. Any idea why is this so and what can I do to get voice guidance working? Both Ovi Suite and N97 seam to be up to date: 2.2.0.245/21.0.045.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a Nokia 6600 Slide with the latest software (V6.55). I was successfully using Nokia Maps GPS navigation having purchased a license key for UK/Ireland in January 2011. I have an external bluetooth GPS device. Howver, the Maps license key has now expired (as expected, it was a 1-year licence). Without a license I cannot use the voice-guided navigation function. When I go throoug the phone menus to purchase a 1-year license again, I get to the menu that asks which payment method I wan to use (I select Visa). At this point the screen just refreshes, with no message or error code. I am not asked for payment card details. I cannot get past the "payment method" menu.
This process worked just fine for me in Jan 2011 when I first purchased a license, and other web browing functions using the built-in web browser are just fine. I have tried refreshing the Nokia software (It was already at V6.55, which is the latest level).
I am surprised to see that E75 has NOT been included to use the Latest version of Ovi Maps 3.03 with free navigation. WHY?
Nokia 3530 -> E50 -> E75 -> E72 -> X6 + E71
Does 5235 support free nav? Here - http://maps.nokia.com/ovi-services-and-apps/ovi-maps/free-downloads?intc=ncomexpserv-fw-ilc-bdy-con-... 5235 is in the list and over here http://www.nokia-asia.com/explore-services/ovi-maps/free-downloads?intc=ncomexpserv-fw-ilc-lft-con-n... 5235 isn't listed. Could any one tell me why is it so? Does it support free nav or not?
Please thank me by giving 'KUDOS' star. It will help me to serve you better.Currently using N82 and 5230. Next would be N?
As there appear to be some UK 5800 owners with this problem. How about - for those people that have phones locked on a providers software/firmware and the map license has expired (like me on 3 in the UK at 30.0.011) that Nokia give us a free license for the current version?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm the rather disgruntled owner of a Nokia 6210 Navigator and have recently learnt about the free navigation offered by Ovi Maps for selected phones. I contacted Nokia's Careline in Australia only to find they were not even aware that it was possible to get a free navigation version, and point blank argued with me until I provided them a link to show otherwise. As per norm, Nokia fails to provide good customer service, however having read the forums somewhat, I am hopeful that the moderators here might be my salvation.
I'm wondering if there is a list of phones that the free navigation may be added to? I'm also on a 3 mobile (Orange in the UK I think) with vendor specific firmware, if this isn't up to par, is there anything I can do? Are there any work arounds to enable support for my 6210 Navigator? Having been a nokia user for the past 10 years, I have been very frustrated by the lack of support provided customers, if I may; Moderators - convince me to stay with Nokia.
Why Nokia removed support for map 3.00 on e63 with newest firmware?! I used Maps 3.0 without any trouble but now i can only use Maps 2.0!
View 13 Replies View RelatedIm wondering why N82 doesnt support ovi maps 3.03 ?. i really want to use its check-in support . is there any way to install it ?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI installed the maps on my e71 today in the UK and it says I have a 90 day Europe navigation license.
View 5 Replies View RelatedJust upgraded the software version of my Nokia N85 (RM-333) to version : 31.00.2 Then installed the Nokia map loader, selected the countries and languages i was interrested in and waited for about 20 minutes for everything to be installed, though never got any message on my actual phone which was still connected via USB.
Downloads are complete, so i try nokia maps on my phone (which i used during the free trial when i got the phone) but it still wants me to buy the maps? So guess it's not free yet then for the N85, so that was a morning well wasted trying to sort all this out.
Today I read about the new Ovi Maps being available with Free voice guidance, etc. Why is not being made available on the N97 till the end of the month. Yet again, Nokia's flagship phone missed out and we all have to wait. Everything about this phone is one big long wait. We have to wait for software, updates - when will Nokia get this correct. Why is it availbale on the N97 mini and not the N97?
