As there appear to be some UK 5800 owners with this problem. How about - for those people that have phones locked on a providers software/firmware and the map license has expired (like me on 3 in the UK at 30.0.011) that Nokia give us a free license for the current version?
Ovi software wants to renew license on my downloade music, but as my lisence is expired I can't do that. I understood thet I can use downloaded music after license expired. Sent several mails ro Nokia without answer...
I've installed nokia maps with navigation option thru OVI in my nokia n85. Last week the navigation license has expired and when I try to use the navigation it stands that I have to BUY a new one. where is the "free navigation forever?"
I don't seem to get the free navigation activated for my N78. When ever I start the navigation, after a few seconds it gives message that your license has expired and you need to go to use shop to buy new one ! I did in the past have installed the free navigation licenses which were made available from Nokia. I am interested in getting this free navigation working on my N78. (I live in Mumbai-India) Best Regards, Neelesh I have installed new Nokia Maps from the site, also have Latest Map Loader 220.127.116.11 Nokia Maps About v3.01 09wk44 b01 MW OpenGL LM MN Map version 0.1.23.112 OpenBitLM 6.22.5 Details about my N78 Software Version : 21.002 Software Version Date: 10-03-09 Custom Version: 21.002.051.1 Custom Version Date: 18-02-09 Language Set : 013 Model : N78 Type: RM-235 Latest Update: 7/2/2010
We know that Maps are free on Nokia phones. But when I installed the Ovi maps on my Nokia e71, it says that my India navigation license has expired on 14-2-1009 and I have to renew it. Why would that be? How do I start using my free maps?
I've got German T-Mobile N97. I've been trying to "unlock" Maps on it ever since I saw that "Maps are free" ad. I've survived a couple of updates since than but nothing seams to happen. I keep getting "Your Europe navigation license has expired on X.X.X. Buy new license to continue suing navigation?" If I say Yes, I get prompted to pay fee for a month or a year. If I say No, voice guidance closes. Any idea why is this so and what can I do to get voice guidance working? Both Ovi Suite and N97 seam to be up to date: 18.104.22.168/21.0.045.
I purchased a nokia N8 with a ovi music unlimited package.Initially everything was fine but some days latter suddenly whenever I download songs through Ovi player and transfer them to Nokia N8, the phone dosent play them and says 'Licence expired or missing. Get new license?' and then each song takes a minute or so to get a new licence key.
I've just got a 6600 slide and would like to try maps before I buy it. I have requested a free navigation license, but when I try to use it, I get a message that the license is invalid. What do I have to do to be able to use it?
I have just paid £7.99 for an album which I have loaded onto my E71 from the Ovi store. However I am unable to play the music, on the E71, as apparently I have an invalid license. I then attempted to acquire the license over the air, however this fails with an MDS Error (what ever that is). I can play the album perfectly well on my PC!
On E61, I just updated my phone software, and now when I'm downloading a Symbian app from another vendor I get a msg that "Certificate Expired". Whose certificate, and what can I do about it? I've already accepted installation of all signed apps. Thanks
I have a 5800 and have successfully updated the firmware to v31.0.101 and installed maps version 3.01, but I cannot get the free navigation to work. I have the latests maps using map loader, but every time I try and start it navigating it tells me that my license has expired. In Shops & Licences/My Licences all that is listed is 'Drive Europe - Expired on 26/10/2009'.
Shouldn't Nokia Maps 3 be free?Is there a license code I can input manually to get free drive and walk navigation? Every time I try update (in Shops & Licences/My Licences) it says that there are no updates available.
Just bought a Nokia 5800 XM and faced with problem, all applications I'm trying to install except Handy Taskman warns me about expired certificate. My colleague also bought it this morning and don't have such problems.

The problems with Comes with Music continue. My first year has expired, and though I have bought a second Comes With Music device I have not yet worked out how I am going to plug that in (see separate post about problems of only one phone per CWM account even if you buy a new phone and renew).
Put my old SIM in new CWM but without yet activating the PIN (two months from sales date to do so) and old phone gets upset and music stops working. Bizarre, so think redownload music to phone again, pain but if necessary will do so.
However, when I try to download the music from PC to phone using Nokia Ovi Player, won't let me, it tells me I have not got the license, I can only download music from the Music Vault.
So I download a track from the music vault, and then try to download it to phone.Still will not let me.Can play track quite happily on the computer, but not on the phone.
As an aside people talk about DRM and how if you are a legal music downloader (like me) then it should not bother you. The problem is I am trying to use music that I have legally downloaded to use on my phone according to my agreement with Nokia, and the DRM is stopping me using it, even though it should not. The reason people are against DRM it is all too good at stopping you doing what you should be doing.
I'm using my Nokia 5310, it has been updated to the latest firmware, I'm on the latest Nokia Music Player, and it expired less than a month ago.
I Bought The Phone The Day Before Yesterday and tried to install the applicationbs which ver on the official site like drummer , touch piano but wen i install them it shows an error of expired certificate...that time i had firmware 30.0.011 then i upgraded it to 31.0.101,then i tried to install the applications still it showed the same error....... Expired Certificate......even i formatted my memory card and restored the factory settings non of the .sis applications have been installed
My trail period of OVI maps navigation has expired on my E71. I have downloaded the latest version of the maps that states its free to download and navigate. When I start to drive or walk I get a message stating "your Europe navigation license has expired on 3.2.2010. Buy a new license to continue using navigation"If I say yes to this I am given the option of paying from 1.99 Euro per day to 59.99 Euro per year and stops navigating From all I have read on the internet OVI maps and navigation is supposed to be free on NOKIA smart phones. what do I need to do to to get this working.
I've a nokia C5-00. 2 days back it has a problem, due to which, it start connecting to the internet, and drain my prepaid account. I try to fix it by factory reset but to no avail so i hard reset my phone. After that phone working fine but when i open the "Quran" application, it gives an Application Expired error. All other application are working fine. I downloaded this application from nokia store it was free back then.
For example I want to download IM+, it tells me that it's free, I choose "get" and after IM+ downloaded, phone shows me error message "Expired Certificate". I get same error message then I try to use other apps in the "Download!" directory. Can I get applications in the Download! menu or it is normal to see this error?
I have been using nokia e5 unti yesterday 16/3/12. I switched to an expensive e6 which cannot load gmail because of expired certificate. I am really disappointed. Can someone assist. What does one do buying such an expensive phone to end up not using it as required?
After upgrading to belle all my contacts are gone. Nokia suite also reports that I have no contacts . However in my sms inbox all the messages are still associated with the contacts that send them. Thus a contact database must still exist on the phone somewhere.I am also having trouble with the music I downloaded from ovi prior to the update. When trying to play the song a error message appears claiming that the license for the track has expired or gone missing and asks me if I want to get a new license. after saying yes I would, a webpage comes up saying I can only request new licenses for songs I downloaded myself( which is all my songs). I guess this another win for piracy as ovi is making it to difficult not to
How can I see what GPS/Map license I have? I have purchased a 6210 Navigator, and with it I have a license for Denmark/Scandinavia. Now however I'm going to a trip to Turkey. So I downliaded a map of Turkey, and found the place that we are going to be staying. So far so good. Then I decided to see if my Nokia could find driving direction. Now it asks me if I want to download a walk/drive license for "The rest" but it does not tell me what the cost is So instead of accepting it directly on the phone, I have now found my way to nokia's danish site. Here I can see under FAQ some prices, but Denmark and Turkey seem to be in the same catagory! So now I'm left wondering if I already have the necesary licanses, and it asked me to download because driving there would direct me through countries that are in other catagories. How can I see what licenses I have, what licenses I will need and what the price for these licenses would be?
I brought the 5800 once it launched in India last week. Having used it for around 5 to 6 days now, the experience has been bad in some sense to say the least. The things killing me are
a) Today suddenly I noticied that there is a gap (Rather Crack) in the top right corner of the case. This is really BAD. I brought this phone thinking that this would be more solid than my current N95(whose Display has gone blank in around a year and odd usage, also occured once before within 2 to 3 months of using it). But with in a week I notice that there is a huge_gap/crack in the cover (Seems like it was there from the beginning, but I noticied it only now). On checking the net I find that even others have had the same issue, This speaks of Poor build quality and rather DESIGN.
b) The "Expired certificate" issue keeps coming up once in a while (Have been forced to reset twice already in 5 days). Rather once I got the phone home and installed PC Suite, the PC Suite support application for the Phone itself failed. After digging the net and experimenting what I have found is that -- One is required to backup the phone and then reset it with *#7370# and restore back the saved contents to remove the "Expired Certificate" issue. NOTE: IF you don't backup before reset, then your Pre-loaded songs (218 in India) will be gone for good.
c) The quality of the camera is BAD. With N95 one could forget taking a camera when traveling, because its camera was good. But with 5800 one has to carry a seperate camera around because Unless there is very good light the pictures are grainy (and becomes worst at night, even in CFL/ lighting inside home). Also the shutter speed seems to be very low, as even a small motion causes blur (N95 didn't have both these issues)
d) Audio during phone calls is weak (both default and loudspeaker mode). Even thou the Music audio seems good.
e) Display is NOT AT ALL readable in sunlight (N95 and even much older 6630 where better).
f) The automatic screen rotate feature requires to stabalize/mature a bit more.
g) Some times the display seems to go blank on its own in the middle of stuff (Not able to repeat, figure out, but have experienced it definitely)
h) And in India, there is no word about the Comes with Music feature wrt this Phone yet. Nor is the Music store operational yet.
i) Even the Download! PC application doesn't show anything saying that server error. WHile the Downoad! in the phone works.
j) If you reset with out backing up stuff, then even thou phone asks whether to unlock the songs, it doesn't do anything but just open one blank page.
FINALLY Please I am interested in a good robust mobile Convergance device, Suddenly I find that Nokia doesn't seem to have a solution to meet this. The upcoming N97 with Touch and 5M camera could have been, but for the slider phone format, which some how I have had issues already twice with my current N95.
