I have a Nokia X6, I've connected it to my PC and downloaded the England map. It downloaded the Europe base map and the England map. When it downloaded it said 'On Phone' however when I open the Maps application on the phone it still says I need to get the maps.

But a few days ago, i was updating Kuwaiti map and voice guidance via Nokia suite and I lost both the msp snd the voice guidance. I tried to download them through Nokia suite but with no success. The following message is always shown:Couldn't connect to the service. There seems to be a problem with connecting to the online map service. If the problem doesn't go away, please try again later.
View 9 Replies View RelatedAfter hard reset of my nokia e6 belle, when I try to download maps NSuite shows that maps are downloaded, but after I disconnect and reconnect phone, NSuite show that I don't have maps on phone and offer me to install them again. Maploader on phone doesn't recognise my wifi, even before. I tried to reinstall phone belle software, maps application are updated, tried different computers.. It seems like NSuite don't save maps on mass memory.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've just upgraded to Nokia Maps Suite 2.0 via Noka SW Updater and everything looks OK (apart from the always present problems with Assisted GPS Positioning method). But now everytime I connect my phone to the PC with Nokia Suite, I always get the message that there is an application (i.e. Nokia Maps Suite 2.0) available to install. How do I get rid of this annoyance?
View 14 Replies View Relateda few days ago, I installed the map of Argentina and Chile on my C6-01 Belle, trough Nokia Suite 3.4.35. Those maps seems to be uncomplete, since as I browse the maps on Nokia Maps 3.09, the phone starts downloading the specific part of the maps I want to ses. Also, when I set Maps 3.09 offline, I cannot see parts of the maps.I tried to delete all maps from my C6-01 and downloading them again directly from the phone. Maps 3.09 refuses to download maps and gives me the error "unrecoverable download error'. Of course when I did that, I was connected to my home wifi.So, after all maps were removed from the phone, I installed them again through Nokia Suite, but that didn't solved the issue. Still my phone keeps donwloading parts of the maps as I browse them.

After update I decided to update my Maps too. But during update it said " no internet connection" and stopped to update process. There were no internet connection loss at that time because I was surfing internet. I tried again. This time it opened the list of maps (because my maps has gone during failed update process) But it could not download any maps. Nokia's circle is turning but no data is transfering. I tried to delete Maps 3.06 and it appeared to be deleted in the App Manager but it still seems to be there and working. I have cleared all the web browser cache.
View 7 Replies View RelatedSoftware update and the Ovi store recommended that I update to Nokia Maps Suite 2.0 on my N8 running Belle.I did so over the air from the Ovi store link. Installation didn't interact with me but phone eventually restarted. Maps wouldn't work i.e. selecting the shortcut or going into the menu and locating the Maps icon would not launch it and my wired headset WH-701 was no longer recognised when I inserted it. Checked installed apps - Maps not there.
Did a soft restart *#7780# and when the phone restarted had my headphones back BUT no maps Last night did the Ovi store link again from my broadband router this time with the phone in offline mode and wifi on. Installation was a lot more interactive giving progress on each app being installed. It did give a 'running out of memory on c: drive' error a couple of times (I had checked before the installation and had 25Mb). Phone restarted, maps was terrific, even showing locations of pics I'd taken with the phone and offering me public transport timetables in U.S. cities but ... headphones not recognized when inserted!
I have problem to download maps into my phone (Nokia C6-00, last firmware v40.0.021). If I launch Ovi Suite (v3.1.1.90) and go to Maps section, screen "Connecting to the map service..." is displayed, but after while: "Couldn't connect to the service - There seems to be a problem with connecting to the online map service. If the problem doesn't go away, please try again later.".
I'm connected over WiFi and all is working normally. I tried connection over USB cable and bluetooth as well, restart computer and phone, reinstall Ovi Suite, format memory card, reinstall device software, reset to factory settings, full reset to initial state (*#7370#) but it wasn't worked.

If I launch maps in my phone and go to Update, there is option "Add new maps", after select appropriate map and click on Download is progress bar "Installing, please wait!" displayed, but process ends with error message "Map download failed!".
I have a C5-00 5MP and I downloaded maps for walking ("with street names"). But Ovi Maps seems unable to get aware of it : the menu allowing to select the walking guidance voice in settings remains empty. The voices for driving guidance are displayed OK though.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI´m using the newest PC Suite under Win 7 32 bit, and a Nokia 8800.Up to now the WIn 7 BT driver was installed and worked for month.Since a couple of weeks I don´t get an automated sync. Sync starts, and ends with the error "check if device is connected".
The device IS connected, I can see my messages and calendar in PC Suite, PC Suite and the round connection symbol are green.Now I tried to install the latest Belkin BT Broadcom Widcomm driver (I used an older widcom last year under XP!).this one does not show up in the connection manager. There I only find the Microsoft.
The maps in my Nokia X6 16gb are gone after i ran an update in which it says will delete the old maps and voices to replace newer ones. Upon completion of the update, when i checked maps that are available in my device,Instead of new updated maps, there is only 1 map left which is Hong Kong and Macau, and i don't live in either one of it. Tried downloading the maps through the Ovi Suite, always got the message "The connection to the Ovi Maps server timed out"
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have a N85 Navi which I bought less than a year ago. I updated this week the maps and the application (latest version)and added one voice for the navigation. After this update when I open the Maps and select Settings and Navigation (to change i.e. voice), Maps closes automatically without any error messages. I can open all the other settings sub-menus. Any ideas why this is happening? Do I have the to re-install the application, maps and voices?

In Maps Updater you can or could select all the countries & provinces you wanted then start the download and come back later when it had finished. Using Maps in OVI Suite, you have to select and download each item one-by-one. I download a couple of entire countries plus about 8 individual French provinces. It's a real pain to have to keep coming back to see if one item has finished so you can select the next, especially since after each French province finishes the selection always jumps back to 'Albania' and I have to navigate back to France again. Sorry, even if you are on commission from the Albanian tourist authority, I have no plans to visit Albania for the time being!
Seriously though, is it so hard to retain the tick boxes to select all the maps and voices you want before you kick of the downloads, so you don't have to spend an hour watching progress bar and can do something more useful with your time? I just find the functional redesign baffling. Next time I'll go back to using Maps Updater, and hope this isn't going to be entirely superseded by OVI Suite, at least until it has the multiple-choice tick-boxes!
i have maps 3.04v? i used Nokia Suite to transfer maps of Bosnia and Hercegovina, Croatia and Serbia. Nokia Suite also transferred Europe base map. But i think i can only view base map of Europe. I cant view detiled maps of cityies.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI used Ovi Suite to upgrade my ovi maps to 3.03 a few weeks ago when I got the phone. I installed maps for a few US states as well. Yesterday I wanted to add maps for another state. Ovi tells me I don't have maps installed on my phone. Then it says it needs to upgrade Ovi suite so I do that. Then it says it wants to install ovi maps on my phone. Ok, fine. Turns out it's trying to install version 3.01 on my phone which of course I don't want to, assuming 3.03 is better than 3.01. So what gives here? It seems I can only install ovi maps using the Ovi Suite, right? I send an email to Nokia but perhaps someone here knows the answer.

However, when I go to maps on my phone, the GPS and satellites are working fine, but I can not see any maps appearing on my phone - just a grey/pale green background appears instead of the maps. Only if I zoom all the way out, then the world globe starts to appear, and then disappears as I try to zoom back in.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI recently bought a nokia E7 (Blue) US Version but I am using it in Canada. I updated it to Symbian Anna and so on. Everytime I try to add new maps from the cell phone itself it says (downloading list, please wait) this takes FOREVER, then i try to do it by nokia ovi suite, well that is even worse, sometimes it says THERE SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH CONNECTING THE ONLINE MAPS, sometimes it says some crazy errors (COULDNT CONNECT TO THE SERVICE, ETCC). I deleted the E:/cities folder + QF file, I opened the Ovi map apps and they got restored and so on but still nothing happens. Is there any other way to add some map I mean MANUALLY? I need the USA and Canada map, (voice guidande male us), I read some discussion from Ovikudy on how to do it manually but i need theses files.
BTW, I regret buying this Nokia E7 big time I should have listened to my friends and go to ANDROID. I know nokia is killing symbian but please fix those MAP serverS.
When I plug the cable in my phone and notebook, the phone asks me to select the connection type. I select PC Suite. I have downloaded the latest version, but PC Suite does not connect with my phone. I use Windows XP Home Edition SP2I don't have a clue about the cable type, but it fits. There is no SD card in it

I went on holiday to Germany and downloaded some maps but now I don't need them any more.How do I delete them?It seems the only option on OVI suite (and map loader too) is to remove all the maps that I have installed, and then reload just the ones I want.Is this really the case? Any suggestions?
