When I plug the cable in my phone and notebook, the phone asks me to select the connection type. I select PC Suite. I have downloaded the latest version, but PC Suite does not connect with my phone. View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm new and I have troubles with my new nokia. I haven't found a solution yet. I have a micro usb-cable with the label "AC 108" "CA 101" from a local handy-dealer. When I connect the phone via "PC Suite Mode" to my pc (windows xp sp2) neither OVI suite nor pc suite recognize the phone correctly. After a few minutes both applications fail and ask me to repeat the steps. I get the error message: pc suite does not recognize the connected phone. The connection between the pc and the phone failed, error code 0x80044403. I switch off phone, switch it on, and try again.
However the phone is recognized by windows correctly. I get a popup with choices to open the phone from "windows portable device". The phone is in the hardwaremanager under "portable devices", "modems" and "wireless communication devices". I have tried to deinstal the software, i tried the nokia pc suite cleaner and i tried the different usb-modes of the phone. when i choose "mediatransfer" the phone is recognized by ovi suite but it says to use the pc-suite mode instead.
I just upgraded my 5230 phone software and can no longer connect to the maps in ovi suite on my pc. I just get the error message that my internet isn't working, which isn't the case.I've rebooted my pc, and restarted the phone, same problem. I can access ovi maps on the phone but just can't get it to connect with my pc.can anyone help?

View 12 Replies View RelatedNokia's Indian call center really are useless. They tell me the reason I cant access the ovi store is because I dont have the latest firmware. The firmware on my phone is v12 The latest firmware, according to them is v11.
They don't seem to understand that perhaps their information is wrong, and that I must speak to my network to get the latest firmware or they can't help me! So what IS the latest firmware for the X6?I really hate offshore call centres where if your problem doesn't fit the script then they just freak out. It's like they are robots or something.
Ovi Suite displays the album art straight from the Music folder created by Windows Media Player when the CD is ripped. The album art is a hidden jpg file (well 4 actually) and a desktop.ini file that says what to do with them. There are NO properties on the mp3 files that say what the album art is.I manually copied my mp3 files to the phone (as I resampled them at a lower bitrate) and copied the album art across manually but it does not show up.Does anyone know if you use Ovi suite to sync the music does it copy the album art across as well?

Ovie suite finds it in its search for devices, but when it asks me to put the random code into my phone, nothing comes up on my phone and within a second or two ovi-suite tells me pairing has failed. My bluetooth is definately on and visible to all and the ovi suite is the latest version (and my phone is definately on the list as compatible) All software is updated on my phone as well.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have no problems with using the 5230 as a tethered device when connected with USB using Ovi Suite. However, when trying the same when the 5230 is connected via bluetooth Ovi Suite tells me that the "device is not connected" (or similar). It is connected - I can transfer photos, read SMS, send SMS, install apps etc etc under bluetooth. It just won't allow me to use it as a modem. I appreciate that using bluetooth to tether is not ideal, but there are sometimes when I am out and about with my netbook where I might not have the USB cable around.

It won't install the latest maps version 3.0. I copied the files from the memory card which came with the phone to my 8GB card but this doesn't fix the problem.

Which is the latest available software version for Nokia 5800? The one which is in my phone is 30.0.011. However i tried to download OviMaps and it's saying that to install new maps the software version needs to be 31.0.008 or higher. View 1 Replies View RelatedI used Ovi Suite to upgrade my ovi maps to 3.03 a few weeks ago when I got the phone. I installed maps for a few US states as well. Yesterday I wanted to add maps for another state. Ovi tells me I don't have maps installed on my phone. Then it says it needs to upgrade Ovi suite so I do that. Then it says it wants to install ovi maps on my phone. Ok, fine. Turns out it's trying to install version 3.01 on my phone which of course I don't want to, assuming 3.03 is better than 3.01. So what gives here? It seems I can only install ovi maps using the Ovi Suite, right? I send an email to Nokia but perhaps someone here knows the answer.

I just cant set a song as a ringtone on my nokia 5230 it says file is protected but it plays in the music player.All songs I have downloaded have been purchased from Nokia music store and transfered to the 5230 via usb cable as I realised that doing it via bluetooth doesnt transfer the licences aswell so I re did all that. they are the same songs that I had set as ringtones on my N95 with no problems, what am I doing wrong?

View 9 Replies View RelatedWith the trial I had with 3.0.1 I was able to use Maps and it's history. When I clicked to travel by car, set destination, I was able to select 'History' there. The strange thing is, since I upgrade to 3.0.3 / FW40 (latest free version) the 'History' option was gone. Only Search and From maps are still available. I did a lot of navigation since the installation but the 'History' button did not came back. At first I thought it was something with the software but I did a Hard-Reset (Camera+Green+Red) and did an update using SW-update. Still the same. I formatted my microSD card just before I did the reset just to make sure it wasn't the data on the card. I also downloaded the Europe maps for offline instalation but this does not resolve the issue. Any ideas? I could not find an answer on the internet. History accessible after upgrade from FW v31 to v40. Why is it gone on my Nokia 5800 Express Music (FW 40.005)?

I have 5000 SMS messages in it that I need to download to some safer location and I cannot access either the Inbox or Sent Messages with my Mac - only images and music folders.I have an old laptop running Windows XP (with no internet connection) so I downloaded the latest PC suite to my Mac and transported it to the XP laptop via memory stik.The latest version of PC suite refuses to install on the XP laptop saying that the OS version is not supported. It is XP 5.1 service pack 1. I do not wish to upgrade the junk laptop.
