Feb 9, 2010BB Maps can't find satellite when Google Maps can update location easy. I can't send my location to BBM either. I turn all GPS on.

BB Bold 9700 :: BB Maps App Can't Find Any GPS
Aug 6, 2010It used to work great, but now the bb maps app can't find any gps (except once in a while it works?!?!?).I've wiped the device, exchanged it, r&r'd the maps app, still no go. Google maps finds my location instantly, but bbmaps does not. I've reset the gps info and it consistently sees 5 - 9 satellites (sees 8 right now), still bbmaps is a no go.

Nokia :: 5800 Satellite Maps / Update Speed In Ovi Maps
Aug 10, 2010I've bought a new 5800 Xpress music recently and have three questions with Ovi maps:
1. I don't see any satellite (photo) maps when selecting the satellite mode in the display options; instead, the map is just filled with a pattern of alternating dark green and light green linear areas. How do I enable real satellite data, as shown in the attached picture?
2. The update speed of the map when navigating on foot or by car seems very slow. Is there some way to increase / improve this?
3. The phone doesn't seem to recognize really well if I hold it vertically or horizontally. Can I improve that behavior, or switch between manually?
Nokia :: Satellite View Of OVI Maps
Jan 28, 2010Can anyone give me some advice about the Satellite view (and even terrain view) of ovi maps. I've put version 3.03 (but the problem existed in the previous 3.01) on today - which currently looks nice and works better, but when I select satellite view (map displayed -> press Cogs -> press Satellite View) the map view is replaced block by block by a repeated patteren of green stripes.Is this the expected behaviour, or should I be seeing a satellite image? I have left the phone (N97) displaying the map for about an hour hoping that perhaps the map would get updated, but so far only 16kb has been downloaded.
The map was loaded onto the phone by Nokia Map Loader.The green stripes result is the same regardless of whether drive mode or walk mode is used.Am I doing anything wrong?
Nokia :: E55 - Satellite Status Bar Missing In Maps
Jul 15, 2010I've a Nokia E55 with Maps 3.04. Up until a few days ago, when I used Maps I had a nice small bar in the lower right corner showing satellite reception, and also a small bar showing data transfer. Now I just have the data transfer bar and the satellite status bar is gone.

Jan 23, 2010I have owned a Curve 8310, a Bold 9000, and now a Bold 9700. I have never been able to get Maps to work! I am always showing diagonal lines. I am on O2, I am connected to a BES server, other users on my BES can access Maps but I cannot. I know the GPS works as it locates me but the data downloaded always shows 0.0kb and all I have is them annoying diagonal lines.

May 8, 2010I am using a nokia 5230 with maps 3.03.When i click on my position inside the app it doesn't locate any satellites, the bottom where the bars are there is only one yellow flashing light.When i click a location and select drive to, it just gets stuck on waiting for GPS and the yellow light for satellites keeps blinking and im outside without any cloud cover!.
Also one more thing, i downloaded the male_us voice pack, what folder do i put it in for it to show up? i tried putting it in E:citiesmale_us and in E:citiesdiskcachemale_us and E:citiesdiskcacheviocesmale_us and none of them show up in the options where you slect them.it still prompts me to download them.i don't have a data plan and this phone doesn't support WIFI.
BB Bold :: Maps Get Directions, Find A Location, Favourite There Is No Response?
Apr 17, 2012when i on my gps on Bold 9930 and enter maps, it finds my location. But if i click on find a location, get directions or favourites there is no response. Those features was working fine before. Please what may cause this problem and what can be the solution??

Mar 23, 2012I have problems with upgrading my BB 9700 to new ver. OS6. I've download fresh DM and new OS .723. I've installed everything, turn off internet connection also turn off mass storage in BB, connect BB to computer and run DM, and nothing happened. DM can't find new OS. Vendor file was deleted before I run DM. So I've tried use app loader but app loader cant see OS too!
When I choose right OS by add app, it gives me that the OS is not compatible to my BB. So I download new one, but the problem still appear. I have problem with upgrade os 5 to 6 too. Wiped BB and system can't find new OS. Fortunately DM find the OS by it self in internet (6...668). I need to upgrade it because I have only 1 language in my phone and no apps. I cant load it by app loader because app loader can see it as right to mu BB.

Jun 30, 2010My phone is a 9900 unlocked from Rogers. My phone is absolutely working fine EXCEPT for the GPS. I can get the GPS to see any satellite. I tried running self test from the option menu and always the same result. Since it is a Roger phone, the warranty is with them and I don't think they will service it b/c I am on a telus plan. I know I can get a temporary Roger plan but I rather not. I tried the phone in a lot of locations but still the same result.
