Nokia Navigation :: N95 8gb Can't Find Gps Satellite?
May 1, 2012
I just bought nokia n95 8gb, but when I wanted to use the maps it never find a satellite connection I tried every thing I even give it to the shop for fixing the issue but nothing the shop did a reprogramming but also nothing it want work so, and did nokia close them satellite or what LOL cause it's killing me and I really need it, to use maps for almost every day cause
is it possible to use the satellite view during navigation? Is saw this with the Google Maps navigation app and I'm wondering now, if it's possible with Nokia Maps, too.
I'm from Malaysia and i bought my c6-01 on August 2011 but the navigation software was unable to operate because it cant connect to the satellite.it kept "waiting for GPS" and it took forever to find the GPS...
What should I do if my n97 could not receive satellites signal? When I check satellite status, appear this message: " no satellite data available" My friend is standing right beside me and his Samsung is connecting to the satellites in a few second.
I am facing problem with the navigator on my new E6 nokia. it takes too long time to connect to connect to satellite! Before i was using E72 it was taking around 1-2 min to connect,, but with my new E6 it takes more than 15 to 20 minutes to connect! Is it normal to take this long time? Can I do something to speed it up?
lately i was asked to perform an update to the latest version of my E6, and after i did that i was unable to view my maps in the satellite imaging, instead only road line showed up as if in the map view.
I am interested to know, how to use my BB 9630 for Satellite navigation (Turn by turn Instruction). As of now it only displays the coordinate os of the location. Is there by any chance this can be used with the network from service provider as in case of Nokia navigation.

I have a nokia c5 I did use it on o2 but I moved to 3 network and from the move to 3 the oiv map wont connect to the internet or the gps cannot fined a connection
I am wondering if anybody else is having the following issue with the Ovi Maps:Say that I need to walk to a certain destination.I first go to Find Places and I type the name of the street which is my destination. However, in most of the cases the answer is "No result found offline".I have to mention that I have downloaded the England maps on the phone.
To be honest this is very annoying as it seems the application is not able to recognize any of the destinations I am interest in (for example, as I live in London and I want to drive to B&Q in Beckton, there is no way for me to find the B&Q's address with the OVi Maps). So, I am just left with the option to look where the store is located on my computer and then manually navigate on the Ovi Map and set that point as destination.
I recently reinstalled the firmware to my E90 Communicator but now I can't find the latest Maps application (3.01) anywhere. After the reinstallation my device only has the 2.0 Maps.
Both the firmware of the device and my Nokia Suite are the latest versions available. I sent Nokia an email and they replied that the Maps can be downloaded thru Nokia Suite, but I don't see any download links there.
Nokia Store's website simply states that the (newest) Maps application is not available for the E90 - but none of the older versions can be found. The same goes for Mail for Exchange - that was lost in the process as well and no longer available for this model from Nokia.
I have a simple problem with the GPS navigation on my E71: it's not working. When I start the application I only see a red dot and nothing more. I checked the satellite connection and I always get the same message: no connection.First I thought that the GPS only works when there is an internet connection, although this would be very stupid. But I get the same message: no satellite connection.I actually want to use the GPS when I'm not connected to the internet. Is there a setting I missed or is this a general issue with the GPS for E71?
I am a little bit confused about the working of GPS enabled phones like how they work and get your exact location. I use E71 phone which has integrated phone and I have downloaded nokia maps to my phone. My question is: My phone is directly communicating to satelite to get my location or is it going to some other GPS server or Nokia GPS server. I am very much sure that if you want to know your exact location then GPS has to contacted your device directly. But still have some confusions.
In-case of my phone is directly communicating to satelite then it should work without GPRS or internet connection on phone. But the interesting part is it doesn't.Can anyone please put some light on this and my request is do not put your thinking only reply for which you are sure and can provide some material if you have.
Can anyone give me some advice about the Satellite view (and even terrain view) of ovi maps. I've put version 3.03 (but the problem existed in the previous 3.01) on today - which currently looks nice and works better, but when I select satellite view (map displayed -> press Cogs -> press Satellite View) the map view is replaced block by block by a repeated patteren of green stripes. Is this the expected behaviour, or should I be seeing a satellite image? I have left the phone (N97) displaying the map for about an hour hoping that perhaps the map would get updated, but so far only 16kb has been downloaded.
The map was loaded onto the phone by Nokia Map Loader. The green stripes result is the same regardless of whether drive mode or walk mode is used.Am I doing anything wrong?
I've a Nokia E55 with Maps 3.04. Up until a few days ago, when I used Maps I had a nice small bar in the lower right corner showing satellite reception, and also a small bar showing data transfer. Now I just have the data transfer bar and the satellite status bar is gone.
Whenever I snap a picture or record a video and exit the camera application, the satellite icon remains on. I have to switch the mobile on/off for it to disappear. What's weird in that is, when i use the front camera, it appears again. Do you think the GPS remains on even when exiting the camera? http://share.ovi.com/media/kavi14.LeBESTof/ Check my N86 Album on OVI.
I have a problem with the gps navigation software that came with the phone. It used to be working, but now it seems that it can't find my location, although I have the gps signal activated.
Sincer the GB update when I run the navigation app and tap the contacts option for a destination, it says that my contacts have no adresses. This is of course is incorrect. I have rebooted and even done a battery pull. I have avoided doing a full reset in the hopes someone here knows a fix for this.
I am using a nokia 5230 with maps 3.03.When i click on my position inside the app it doesn't locate any satellites, the bottom where the bars are there is only one yellow flashing light. When i click a location and select drive to, it just gets stuck on waiting for GPS and the yellow light for satellites keeps blinking and im outside without any cloud cover!.
Also one more thing, i downloaded the male_us voice pack, what folder do i put it in for it to show up? i tried putting it in E:citiesmale_us and in E:citiesdiskcachemale_us and E:citiesdiskcacheviocesmale_us and none of them show up in the options where you slect them.it still prompts me to download them.i don't have a data plan and this phone doesn't support WIFI.
I installed Nokia Navigation 2.0 with some maps on my Lumia phone. But how can I find out the version of the installed maps? And how can I check the actual existing version of the maps on the Nokia server?
