I am downloading applications from anywhere just as the Blackberry apps, facebook,etc. I can't find them in downloads or applications, & i am sure no hiden files too. What can i do?

View 12 Replies View RelatedI updated my 9700 with Desktop Manager. I added the Japanese input method during the update, however, there are now 2 files (net_rim_font_japanese, net_rim_font_japanese_droid) stuck in my Downloads folder. Japanese input method does not work as well. I tried loading the desktop manager again, but I am not able to remove/delete them. Does anyone have any idea on how to remove the input, or make it work without wiping the unit?
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy contract with orange on my old blackberry (i forgot what it was but it was the blackberry with the ball instead of the square scroll)Anyway when i was told i can have a blackberry 9700 i jumped at the chance and i was told everything will have the same settings etc.I got all my contacts thanks to the helpful orange staff however i can't seem to work my internet and email like i used to.Before i could access the internet no matter where i was as long as there was a signal, but as soon as i'm out of range from my wireless at home, it stops working. This is frustrating because i didn't know how to fix it.Another problem was, when i tried downloading apps, it kept saying that the blackberry 9700 bold do not support them. This means i cannot go on msn.I also need the GPS for tomorrow because i'm heading to London tomorrow and i only had time today to really try to find a solution to this pesky problem.I've had this phone for about 2-3 weeks now.

How do I get rid of the rest in my games and downloads folders? I've tried deleting them with BlackBerry Desktop Manager, but the links/logos still show up... View 8 Replies View RelatedSo I have owned a Black Bold 9700 for a while now and about 2 months ago I switched to a White 9700. I would always get at least one day out of my battery in my black 9700. And I was with my white 9700 as well until about 2 weeks ago.I rarely talk on my phone but I am a heavy user with BBM, text and email and a bit with Facebook which I know uses a lot of battery... I have about 90 contacts on BBM and use it constantly everyday -- chatting with 4 to 5 ppl at a time constantly. However, I'm lucky if my battery lasts from 11am until 5pm anymore. I have tried about 3 different batteries and they all have the same issue. I just upgraded my software from .743 to .862 last night.
And I switched over to a brand new OEM battery 2 days ago. I charged my phone overnight and powered it on at 11am and now at 2:14pm I'm sitting at 75% battery life.I don't have many apps on my phone besides Facebook and Weather Eye. The only apps I ever have running everyday are the ones that have to be running constantly (BBM, Phone, Browser, Messages). I rarely even browse the internet and I don't have Bluetooth or Wi-Fi enabled. However, I am always running on 3G.

It used to work great, but now the bb maps app can't find any gps (except once in a while it works?!?!?).I've wiped the device, exchanged it, r&r'd the maps app, still no go. Google maps finds my location instantly, but bbmaps does not. I've reset the gps info and it consistently sees 5 - 9 satellites (sees 8 right now), still bbmaps is a no go.

I have problems with upgrading my BB 9700 to new ver. OS6. I've download fresh DM and new OS .723. I've installed everything, turn off internet connection also turn off mass storage in BB, connect BB to computer and run DM, and nothing happened. DM can't find new OS. Vendor file was deleted before I run DM. So I've tried use app loader but app loader cant see OS too!
When I choose right OS by add app, it gives me that the OS is not compatible to my BB. So I download new one, but the problem still appear. I have problem with upgrade os 5 to 6 too. Wiped BB and system can't find new OS. Fortunately DM find the OS by it self in internet (6...668). I need to upgrade it because I have only 1 language in my phone and no apps. I cant load it by app loader because app loader can see it as right to mu BB.
I'm bold 9700 user. Why my bb cant find upgrade OS6? Its only find the version5.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI know there has been a ton of posts about this subject and I have wrote one myself just a few days ago and I got my **** chewed out for even mentioning it. Well I guess the Android platform has just about got that problem licked. They are just around the corner from letting this jewel out. The people from Google said it may be just a "little" slower but will be very usable. The response I received from the forum was that the 9700 had plenty of storage for as many apps as you needed and still operate fast. Agreed but what will happen with the new OS and this great browser around the corner arrives. Many of the phones won't be able to use the new OS because of memory problems so that tells me that it may slow down the 9700 if too many apps are loaded. That is where the ability to save and run apps from memory card will be needed. Android put it together very fast why the **** can't Rim or some company put one together that works?

Is there a direct relationship between the size of the applications being loaded on the Blackberry and the amount of free memory? I had around 90 MB of free space on the device, and then proceeded to load a handful of applications. I haven't done the exact math, but I think I loaded around 5 MB of applications. The free memory has gone down by around 15 to 20 MB. Is there some sort of file management issue that "wastes" memory on the Blackberry? I have tried all the usual tricks to free up memory - running Memory Cleaner, running Memory Booster, clearing all cached items in various applications, pulling the battery. Still, free memory remains below 70 MB.

I am able to connect to the internet through the browser but none of the applications that i have installed are able to connect. These applications include Blackberry app world, goolge talk, facebook application, and i tryed to get google maps but it wouldn't finish loading up. I also don't have a blackberry maps application?
Things that i have already tried:
-Battery pulls
-Application loader to reload software
-registering to network and resending service books
-Called t-mobile and they couldn't help so they sent me another phone but still having the same problems
I've downloaded a few apps from the store onto my Bold 9700 (Twitter, Facebook, Opera mini etc) and have no problems as long as I'm in WiFi range. Once outside this I can't use them without getting a message about them being a WiFi service and to check connection.
My browser preference is set to "Hotspot browser" but even when I change this to 3G I still get the same message. None of the applications seem to have browser setting preferences so I'm not sure how I can get round the problem.Does anyone know of a settings page somewhere that will fix this?
I am in HK using the 3 network. I can do everything but seems that I can't not download the BB Apps World from the site. I am using V5.0.0.351 and its that it is not supported. The site says that it only requires a V4.7 or higher but I don't seems to be able to download it.

Or must it only be in that 256 of internal memory.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently got a Bold 9700, and I downloaded and installed app world and facebook fine. It will not let me download anything else. It goes to download then part way through it stops and the error "There was a problem during installation. Please Try again." I have tried, uninstalling and re-downloading app world, still does it. I updated the software on my phone, still does it. I even have tried downloading the app directly from the company's website, instead of through app world, and it still does it.

Swisscom however, will not repair cosmetic damage and gave me the name of a company in Houston, TX. Obviously, this is not practical.A great phone, but horrible, just plain lousy, that neither RIM nor their provider can provide this information quickly and directly. For example if I don not have any network during several hours, the time at which I receive a SMS message will be the time at which I recover some network... not the time at which the writer sent the SMS message.
Even my Nokia 3410 was able to get this information... Why not my BB 9700? Same concerning the acknowledgement of receipt: I do not see at what time the SMS was received
