View 4 Replies View RelatedJust bought a new Bold 9700. I've run every kind of update possible. BlackBerry Maps IS loaded (v5.0.0). The operating system is the latest. I can see BlackBerry Maps in the add-on applications, yet there's no icon to start the application. The vendor is utterly useless when it comes to helping resolve the issue. The GPS seems to work and gives the correct location data, yet I can't find a means to start the BlackBerry Maps application.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a new Blackberry Bold 9700, The Blackberry Maps are? were, or maybe partly missing? I called AT&T Support they transferred me over to advanced support, the woman there catogorically stated there is no compatible version of BB Maps with the 9700, doesn't exist. This Morning I decided to investigate my Application Folder or Inventory on the 9700 and sure enough its there, unless I have a broken brain under 3 rd party applications it says " Blackberry Maps 5..0.0" 7 modules installed and it shows the Update Date, the purchase date I connected to Blackberry Desk Top Manager and upgraded all the software.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have owned a Curve 8310, a Bold 9000, and now a Bold 9700. I have never been able to get Maps to work! I am always showing diagonal lines. I am on O2, I am connected to a BES server, other users on my BES can access Maps but I cannot. I know the GPS works as it locates me but the data downloaded always shows 0.0kb and all I have is them annoying diagonal lines.
Blackberry Maps Modules that show are:
net_rim_bb_gas
net_rim_bb_lbs
net_rim_bb_lbs_api
net_rim_bb_lbs_lib
net_rim_bb_lbs_resource_en
net_rim_bb_lbs_resource_en_GB
something is killing my bb battery , it hardly lasts for 8 idle hrs and the same battery on another bb will last for around 2 days if not used too much , I had initially installed quite a few apps and thought maybe this was the reason for the weak battery , so i deleted all the apps and still the same . I dont have any apps other than the normal ones running in the background.
another thing is that my bb keeps hanging , esp while locking and unlocking Its like there is a bug or a virus on the bb I also dont see the name of the person calling when the phone is in the holster but when it is out it shows .....
Looking at my Installed Applications on my 5800XM I realised that there are the following two entries:
Nokia Maps 9MB
Ovi Maps 7MB
Are they supposed to be both there? Shouldn't the Nokia Maps application have been overwritten when updated to Ovi Maps? Can I manually remove the Nokia Maps application to free these 9MB of C: memory?
I my dad recently bought the Nokia N8 after playing about with mine, I recieved the phone unlocked and set about setting it up for him, though i'm having foul problems with the maps! i've installed them, re-installed them, uninstalled and then reinstalled again and no luck, there wasn't even a Maps icon any time it was installed, but on my Nokia N8 when it was installed if went straight onto my home screen? how can I finally download these maps to this phone for my dad? he's starting to become really impatient because he needs to use the maps for his job

View 11 Replies View RelatedEach time I reset or restart my Bold, all these service books are put on my phone automatically. Things like Facebook, AccuWeather, TeleNav, Tetris Demo, ToneMaker Demo, A BUNCH of games and other things. They are not installed but they are links that open up my browser to download them. I delete the service books so its goes away, but after i restart, BAM they are all back!!! this never happened before I got a free month of data service from t-mobile. Or is this an automatic when you get a data-plan? How can I stop or block this?
View 5 Replies View RelatedHey everyone I am about to upgrade my BB to .423 and was just wondering if there is any way to have two different languages installed onto the phone? Say for instance I want both English (US) and Brazilian Portuguese, so that I could switch between the two. Is this even possible?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI've been a BB fan for some years. I'm using now a BB Bold 9700 but I've recently experienced enormous performance problems and flaws on my BB, since I've upgraded to OS6. Mainly the issue appears to be on the Application Storage capabilities. It seems that the device only allows 250MB of application storage, being that the OS6 and some BB required software use the majority of it. I've around 8-10 apps which I've been using: Twitter, Facebook, Dropbox. ScoreMobile, GoogleMaps, Accuweather and a few others.
The application storage memory available is already below 2MB even after deleting all the not needed files, applications, language packs, etc. I've experienced that sometimes, when I reboot the system, there is an increase of space available but it keeps reducing after a few days without any further app installations. This problem affects the overall performance of the device. I've experienced three major things:
1. After being for sometime on stand-by, when I want to use the phone, the BB seems to freeze for about 30sec/1min before it reacts on my commands.
2. Very often, I wake up in the morning and the BB simply deleted all the emails in my inbox. IT appears to be a consequence of a low memory situation.
3. Even just using a few apps, I would like to install a bunch of new other stuff. Nevertheless I'm not able to do so as I do not have memory available for it.
Is there anyway to move the apps to the media file storage? How can I stop this?
I have recently installed OS 6 on my Bold 9700, but it keeps on going into waiting mode (small clock face on screen). I have tried deleting programs that I don't need, but haven't solved the problem.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just got my 9700 from Rogers, it came with OS v5.0.0.743 on it. However, I can't find the icons for BB Maps, Application Center, and AppWorld ! I checked in the "Applications" and it says they are installed.
View 12 Replies View RelatedIn the last week my bold 9700 keeps on displaying memory manager and shows applications I can delete, but won't actually let me delete anything as it's basicall frozen with clock icon ticking away.Strange thing is if I reboot device, and look at available memory it shows 30mb available, but as I watch it ticks its way down to nothing. What could be eating at memory when I'm not doing anything.Device has become basically useless. After this started, I did install new release of OS that was available when connected to my PC hoping that would solve issue.APP world does not display all my installed apps when I go there??

Never noticed this one before; a tiny notification icon in the application banner.Anyone know what app this is? Can't seem to find it.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just got the bold 9700 ver. 2 from ATT and don't have the phone icon. It is not hidden, I looked, and not in any other folder. All I have is a phone icon that is for Visual Voice Mail, which I am not signed up for and don't want to be. When I click the VVM icon it says do you want to sign up and I hit No and it just kicks me back to the main screen. How can I get rid of the Visual VM icon and get the Call log icon?
View 9 Replies View RelatedToday I was trying to lock my phone having installed the new OS (5.0.0.593) and when I press my functioning lock button (i.e. not physically broken) it puts the phone in standby, not locking it. I have a password and if I lock my phone that screen usually comes up. Whats the point if it doesn't lock? I've pressed the standby key and that doesn't lock it either. In a moment of desperation i assigned the left convenience key as a lock button, but I would love to have it at the top as normal.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I get a new SMS, it is the same as a new e-mail icon. However, this is not supposed to be so... SMS's are supposed to be a slanted envelop. I never had this problem with my old curve 8320. I've also had this icon issue since I got my phone several months ago. The icons remain the same no matter which OS version I use. I am on T-mobile.

View 2 Replies View Relatedthis question has been raised by several people, but no matter how much I read I can not find a solution. The problem is raised, but nobody sais: "yes you can do this, by doing this and that," OR "no, you can not do it, it is not possible".I bought a BB 9780 bold in the recent days. I is a used device, I bought it in a GSM store, it was wiped, therefore completely empty. I refreshed OS6 to the latest version, set everything I could, but I can not get 2 applications to work:BB Maps and Windows Live Messenger.
Maps is simply missing, no matter how many times I install it, it is installed. I do not have a BIS data plan yet, I use the general data plan from my provider. Unfortuntely I can not get a BIS at the moment, for technical reasons. As I understand t can be a problem of service books. Not having a BIS however, I can not ask my carrier for BB service books.Any solutions, ideas? (here I mention, that I downloaded BB links app, and it shows the maps app, I could even start it, but it is a blank screen, however it proves the app is there, but problem must be with provisions/authorization).
My other problem is Windows live messenger, which runs perfectly, except for not logging in. When I put my login credentials, it sais: "Service not enabled for this handheld." So it is not working, I am sure it is also a question of provisioning.I used to use BB in past, some with an sometimes without BIS, and both applicatioins worked fine on those devices. This leads me to the conclusion, that the issue is a question of settings, not devices or BIS plan availability.
So Im running the latest os with the 9700 with wind mobile. I know that bb maps is installed and have tried countless of "fixes" but my bb maps does not appear? Any Ideas?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just got my phone yesterday (upgraded from the iPhone...what a waste of money!!!) and I cannot find the integrated map application. All I see is the ATT GPS ap.
View 7 Replies View RelatedIt used to work great, but now the bb maps app can't find any gps (except once in a while it works?!?!?).I've wiped the device, exchanged it, r&r'd the maps app, still no go. Google maps finds my location instantly, but bbmaps does not. I've reset the gps info and it consistently sees 5 - 9 satellites (sees 8 right now), still bbmaps is a no go.
