BB Bold 9000 :: Installed App / Bold Continually Rebooting
Feb 18, 2010Yesterday i installed an app from Dictionary.com called Dictionary. i already had it installed but wanted to perform an update cause u cannot copy and paste the corectly spelled word directly into wherever u originally mispelled it. Anyway i performed an update, Bold asked me to reboot, now the phone boots half way, then restarts.over and over and over and over. Im back down to my Pearl. Is there any way to salvage this situation without me having to erase and reinstall everything from scratch? Is there a"safe mode" i can boot into on the phone and manually remove the app cause i have a feeling thats what's causing the reboots.

BB Bold :: 9900 Keeps Rebooting All The Time
Jun 10, 2012My bb bold 9900 keeps rebooting, ALL THE TIME! So as soon as it turns on, 3 seconds after i see my wallpaper, it turns off and restart again... I basically don't have my phone anymore.
I noticed that it happens when it connects to the mobile network because i managed to turn it on inside the tube (underground) where there is absolutely no network, and it works, but as soon as i got out of the tube and it was looking for signal, it turned out again.

Software version: 7.1 bundle 1149

Jan 26, 2010hey guys my bold has rebooted at roughly the same time for 3 days in a row now. At around 6:10am (withing 2-3 mins each time) ive looked at my phone while driving to work and see that its rebooting...I bought the phone a few weeks ago and dont know if it has been going on the whole time but is there a fix or known explaination for this ?

Sep 3, 2010I have Outlook 2007 on my desktop computer and use BT as a service provider and for my email, my Blackberry supplier is Vodafone and I use BIS.I have noticed that if my Blackberry receives an email first I don't get the same email delivered to my desktop. If my desktop gets an email first then the same email will be delivered to my Blackberry. I was happily deleting emails from my Blackberry thinking I would have them all on my desktop but I now find I have to check what emails I have on each before I delete anything. Is this an issue that anyone has come acrosss before and how do I resolve it apart from synching the Blackberry and desktop?I'm often away from the desktop which is why I bought the Blackberry in the first place.

May 11, 2010I just bought an unlocked BB 9700 a couple of weeks ago and brought it to Costa Rica, it was working like a charm, until last night. The phone died (no charge) and when plugged back in, it started rebooting itself. I didn't notice this until this morning (it rebooted all night long) and now I am able to use the phone without the SIM card in, but as soon as i put the sim in, the phone goes on an endlees reboot.

Jul 9, 2010I've only had my Blackberry Bold for about 2 months. The camera was being a little funny and won't zoom so I switched off my phone and took out the battery and replaced it to try and reboot the phone. Now it won't turn on.When the battery is in the Red LED light at the top right corner lights up then goes off when the Phone starts up showing the BLACKBERRY Logo on the screen with the Loading Bar underneath. The bar then shows that it is loading but almost immediately it crashes and switches off. It does this repeatedly though I've tried removing and replacing the battery several times.
I'm sure it is not a problem with the battery as I had only charged it the previous night and even tried using another battery from my friends Blackberry just to double check but the phone continues to repeatedly turn on, crash, turn off.

Jan 3, 2010Do we still need to do a Batterie pull from time to time. I ve installed os .421 and since 15 days i haven t done a pull. I only past from 133MB to 131MB so the memory loss won t even be noticed compared to back in the days with the 9000.So my question is do we still need these apps like quick pull etc which i installed to my old 9000.How often should we do a pull every week? Every month?

Feb 27, 2010something is killing my bb battery , it hardly lasts for 8 idle hrs and the same battery on another bb will last for around 2 days if not used too much , I had initially installed quite a few apps and thought maybe this was the reason for the weak battery , so i deleted all the apps and still the same . I dont have any apps other than the normal ones running in the background.
another thing is that my bb keeps hanging , esp while locking and unlocking Its like there is a bug or a virus on the bb I also dont see the name of the person calling when the phone is in the holster but when it is out it shows .....

Jun 18, 2010Each time I reset or restart my Bold, all these service books are put on my phone automatically. Things like Facebook, AccuWeather, TeleNav, Tetris Demo, ToneMaker Demo, A BUNCH of games and other things. They are not installed but they are links that open up my browser to download them. I delete the service books so its goes away, but after i restart, BAM they are all back!!! this never happened before I got a free month of data service from t-mobile. Or is this an automatic when you get a data-plan? How can I stop or block this?

Aug 16, 2011I've been a BB fan for some years. I'm using now a BB Bold 9700 but I've recently experienced enormous performance problems and flaws on my BB, since I've upgraded to OS6. Mainly the issue appears to be on the Application Storage capabilities. It seems that the device only allows 250MB of application storage, being that the OS6 and some BB required software use the majority of it. I've around 8-10 apps which I've been using: Twitter, Facebook, Dropbox. ScoreMobile, GoogleMaps, Accuweather and a few others.
The application storage memory available is already below 2MB even after deleting all the not needed files, applications, language packs, etc. I've experienced that sometimes, when I reboot the system, there is an increase of space available but it keeps reducing after a few days without any further app installations. This problem affects the overall performance of the device. I've experienced three major things:
1. After being for sometime on stand-by, when I want to use the phone, the BB seems to freeze for about 30sec/1min before it reacts on my commands.
2. Very often, I wake up in the morning and the BB simply deleted all the emails in my inbox. IT appears to be a consequence of a low memory situation.
3. Even just using a few apps, I would like to install a bunch of new other stuff. Nevertheless I'm not able to do so as I do not have memory available for it.
Is there anyway to move the apps to the media file storage? How can I stop this?

Apr 22, 2010I am sure that this issue has been raised before but it is the one aspect of the BB9700 that is driving me to distraction. What profile settings should i use just to get the darn thing to ring for 20 secs - both in and out of its holster? (I have tried the code to extend the time to 30 secs but it does not seem to work with Orange UK).
I just want the phone to ring like a phone without LEDS, vibration etc. At the moment, I need the hearing of a 5 year old and the strength of a 20 year old to get to my phone before it trips over to answerphone.I am on OS593 and I have tried battery pulls etc. I am also using a ringtune rather than Classic Ring.
BB Bold 9700 :: Rebooting / Screen Goes Black / Red Light Turns On
Jan 20, 2010So I bought my AT&T Bold 9700 last month when it first came out, and have had no troubles with it so far. I've tried searching for a thread like this but haven't found any.My 9700 just randomly "rebooted" this morning, where the screen goes black and the red led light turns on for a couple of seconds. This has happened to me before on my old 9000, where after it would then start up again. Nearing the time when I replaced it, it would do it quite frequently (and to think it just started getting really bad AFTER the 1 year warranty on it expired!). So back to the 9700, the progress bar that comes up when you're starting up the device would then come up, and sometimes load for about half an inch, sometimes only up to an eighth, before the whole thing would start again - the screen would turn black, the red led turns on, and the progress bar would come up again.I pulling the battery out for a few minutes and putting it back in but its still doing it. I then pulled it out for about an hour and its still doing it again.

Mar 8, 2010My phone is about 2 months old. My service is through ATT in the US, but I use the phone abroad - currently in Sydney, Australia.Sometime early this morning [still asleep as alarm didn't go off], the phone began rebooting. When it reboots, it fails half way through and starts again. This has been going on for over 10 hours. I have not had time to load any new application onto it, it is in the same state it came. I just receive and send email and text.I have spoken to ATT and the only thing they recommend is a new phone. However, they wont send it to me outside the US, they say it isn't possible [even if I pay for shipping]. I guess they never heard of FedEx or DHL. So much for their international service. I have to coordinate shipping through my office in the US. This is going take me more time than I think I can live without the phone.
I've tried a battery that I know works and the problem persisted. I would like to wipe the phone clean, but since I don't ever get to the main screen, I cant do it using an application. Is there any way to wipe it clean using a combination of keys? I cant do it from my PC either as it doesnt recognize the phone since it is always rebooting.

May 12, 2010Today I was trying to lock my phone having installed the new OS (5.0.0.593) and when I press my functioning lock button (i.e. not physically broken) it puts the phone in standby, not locking it. I have a password and if I lock my phone that screen usually comes up. Whats the point if it doesn't lock? I've pressed the standby key and that doesn't lock it either. In a moment of desperation i assigned the left convenience key as a lock button, but I would love to have it at the top as normal.

May 14, 2010I upgraded to OS .656 last night, and it somehow messed up my phone and made it to where I had no Wi-Fi connectivity unless I turned the phone's cellular radio off and forced it to use Wi-Fi. Otherwise, it would just use it's painfully slow EDGE network.
I downgraded back to .593, and all seems fine. It connects and the Wi-Fi logo goes from gray to white, as it should. But that process (connecting and the logo turning white, indicating connection) takes about a minute. The network's name will show up, the Wi-Fi logo will show up (in gray), and then after about a minute it turns white and I'm connected.

May 7, 2010When I saw the AT&T commercial about a guy who talks on his phone while he surfs the web at the same, I thought 'let me try that on my 9700'. So right now as I type these, I'm actually streaming podcast, have my buddy on the other line, and here typing this. AT&T claims that Verizon, which their direct competitor here in the states, can't do any of these talking while surfing web. I have been a T-mobile customer for 4 years now and for the past 2 years I have been talking and surfing at the same time without a problem. I thought depends on the phone as well whether it can do this or not, not the network.

After a while in that conversation it will start to not work, it will move around bits of text from conversation, it wont let me scroll through messages, then is slow to send, if I leave conversation it wont let me get back into it.
