i am having major issues with my e51 and pc suite! The s.ware support 4 my phone is not loading, and when i tried the new ovi suite as an alt. the software is not compatable with my phone! How is my phone going 2 get updates if i can only update via p2 suite?
View 3 RepliesI used the Ovi suite to install the free maps on my E72 which work great but the software itself is very poorly written, too many bugs and problems so i would like to uninstall it and use the PC suite instead. can I now update my phone using the PC suite with it's updater software or do I have to now rely on the Ovi suite.
The reason I ask instead of having two pieces of software is i want to a Vista/XP (two machines) clean install followed by a Ghost DVD so the smaller image the better (plus i dont like to have **bleep** installed on my machine:-)

I have a Nokia E71, and i was using Nokia PC Suite to sync it with my outlook 2007 it all worked fine, contacts, to do notes and calendar (i wasn't syncing mail cuase i use gmail), untill the new ovi suite came out and i decided to try it since It sounded better.turns out It really sucked this ovi suite!! one of the worst softwares I've ever used, it duplicated all of the appointments that had color categories in outlook 2007, it is dead slow to sync!!!(i mean reeeaaly slow), even tough the Suite integrates more stuff in to one place it has reduced funcionality to sync stuff with my phone, it offers less funtions, not to mention that the user interface sukcs (its poorly desingned, it takes long to accses stuff, it shows me stuff as if it was advertisement).PC suite was very simple but funcional, oviously i went back to pc suite, to my surprise i couldn't sync, pc suite & the phone would do as if they were syncing, but when i checked at the end it wouldn't sync stuff.

I checked bluetooth device that im using, and made sure that phone bluetooth is on. In Attachment is shown how PC Suite and Bluetooth react when i try to reconnect the phone.
View 8 Replies View RelatedHave a N900. Got the phone to work against Smart Suite and later Ovis Suite very well for the first 3 weeks. Then the trouble started. I used it both with USB cable and BTooth. First my synchronization with Lotus Notes calendar stopped (have to go by the PC), then contacts and messages. And today it does not even recognize the phone as a compatible phone. In the whole period I have been installing all kind of applications. My suspicion is that the trouble is due to an installation of a particular application - my question is:Anyone that got an idea what might have caused this?? Hope for help without re-intsalling the machine.

I installed Ovi Suite and now I am unable to connect E52 to Ovi Suite via USB. I encounter two problems which both result in being unable to sync my data (establish connection).First option happens when I connect the device and select Connect via Ovi Suite. Ovi Suite says: Connect the device although the device is already connected.The other option happens after I connect the device. Ovi Suite recognizes the device, but then it says: "Setting up." which lasts forever and nothing happens - I am unable to establish the connection.

View 10 Replies View RelatedTrying to get my N97 to connect up to my Win 7 laptop.Every time i try and connect through OVI, when attempting to reach connection it either states "N97 not in USB pc suitemode" (here i have told the phone to automatically connect in PC Suite) there is no problem seeing the phone on the machine thats fine, the main problem is OVI.
PC Suite 7.1.4 - i cant even get this to install, i reach install step 5/6, it doesnt even try and i recieve the error " Installation operation failed - the system cannot find the file specified"
I desperatly need this to work to update the handsets firmware. to do this i need to back it up, to do that i need to use OVI or PC Suite!

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am trying to connect/synch my N97 to PC's running Windows XP or Vista. Generally the app crashes shortly after synchronizing a few items or right at the start. Also, when I connect the phone the system continues to "find" an MTP device and keeps asking for a reboot. I regret to say that this is an extremely disappointing piece of software by a worldwide maker. It is painfully slow to download and install, and in the end it does not even work.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a brand new Nokia E63.I can't get the Nokia PC suite to 'see' it.I have uninstalled, reinstalled the software - got the most up to date, mad sure I run the Nokia cleaner software to remove all traces, tried the cable drivers, selected the right connection mode on the phone (and tried all the others), got the right CA-101 USB cable (brand new), and followed all the help screens and files I can find. In short I have tried every combination I can think of (and I'm handy around a PC), but the software suite still it can't see the phone when it goes to look for it.I can't even change the connection mode on the phone to mass storage device and get windows to see it when I plug in the USB connection.In short I am totally baffled and can't find my micro SD card reader so connecting the phone is my only current option to update my SD card data. I would certainly welcome some pointers as I can't think of anything else to try and have literally spent hours trying to get it to work. Absolutely nothing happens when I plug the phone into the PC and this seems so odd - normally windows sees something.Running Windows XP on a HP Compaq nx 6325 with Zone Alarm virus and firewall in the background if that makes any difference.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have the newest PC-suite version 7.1.40.1 installed on XP. I get my N900 connected to the computer, but i am not able to do anything. For example it isn't possible to pick my phone when i try to sync it with my computer. I can see it in the list, but i can't pick it. The other features in pc-suite doesn't work also, it is just connected.I have searched the net now for many hours and tried updating and installing everything in my opinion. But perhaps i have forgotten something?

View 10 Replies View RelatedDuring the backup process there is an option to backup "Device settings and applications".Well, call me stupid, but I assumed that this option would backup my phone's settings and applications!After being advised by Nokia Support to reset my phone (due to another problem), I did it in the knowledge that my settings had been backed up.However when attempting the restore, there was no option to restore the settings, just options to restore messages, docs, images etc.So I've now had to spend a long time putting all my settings back in.To say the least, I'm not very impressed!I was wondering if there is any proper software around that will backup EVERYTHING.

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I click on install option from OVI Suite to update to the latest version, It keeps saying there's no network connection even though my net connection works fine. i tried installing the new version of Ovi Suite by downloading from Nokia Site, even that hangs after a while of installtion progress. Is there a easy way to upgrade or update new Ovi Suite ? Also if I cancel any installation mid way, I am not able to start it again unless I clear all installation files after restarting.this is frustrating to see a simple software upgrade is so cubersome.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have an X6 and when I try to sync it with PC Suite and Ovi, they either do not recognise the device, or cannot detect that it is connected. I have reinstalled all the software from the Nokia site, reset the phone (soft and hard) and it still doesn't work. I have been reading a lot of comments and it seems that if you have this handset with O2, then neither of these applications will work. O2 say that the handset is fine and it is an issue with Nokia. Nokia have told me to do all the things as above. At a bit of a loss now! Have 3 days in which to reject phone.

Ovi suite recognizes phone 4. When i try to sync to back up or do anything for that matter, stupid message keeps appearing: "Please change the usb mode on your device to ovi suite or pc suite mode" My phone is always in pc suite mode. No option on phone for ovi suite mode. Firmware version 21.2.045 Tried switching phone to offline mode, disconnecting and reconnecting phone and nothing happens.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI have recently installed ovi suite. My computer keeps asking me to install the driver for the "bluetooth peripheral" device (and it can't find the program to install). But that is not the real problem. problem is when i connect my phone to the pc it doesn't recognize it, i've gone through all the help files and done everything, checked the connection was right, disconnected, rebooted both devices and reconnected, and made sure it was on use as Ovi Suite when the option comes in the beginning.Furthermore, although my computer sees the phone as a Bluetooth device and i can browse and copy files to and fro the phone, the pc suite doesn't recognize the phone via the bluetooth route either.again, i've gone through all the help suggestions.

I M trying to connect iT through USB CABLE to PC.
I M using WINDOWS 7
But i cant connect it.iT Doesnt Respond.
When i connect the cable it asks for option & then i select PC-SUITE.
In the phone nothing gets displayed, not even a USB logo & phone is not connected through pc-SUITE.
But it connects very well through MASS STORAGE.
I've just downloaded the latest v of Ovi suite and installed it on my PC, but when I try to connect my phone (N86) I get a message:
"an error occured while copying file ccdcmb.sys
cannot copy file to destination directory
click retry to retry the operation or click cancel to"
when i click cancel i get a message stating:
"do you want to continue setup without copying the file"
i haven't.
when i started the setup, i got to teh screen asking whether i wanted to connect via usb, bluetooth etc. or skip. usb was automatically highlighted. at that point i connected my phone via usb before clicking 'next', but from the wording on the following screen i gather that i should have clicked 'next' first and then connected.
so....
1) how do i fix the ccdcmb.sys issue please? from other comments on ccdcmb.sys in the forum, am i correct in thinking i need to uninstall everything and start again?
2) could someone recommend to the guys who write the installation screens that it is made clear to users whether they should connect before clicking 'next' or after
3) also to the guys who write the screens, please finish the last line of the first error message
as an aside, earlier this month i tried to install an earlier version of ovi. that time the software wouldn't even install on my pc, giving an error code 9508.
my pc is running fully updated xp pro.
I tried to do backup my E71 using the PC suite (ver 7.1), it doing the backup for some time after when it reach the phone model specific backup, it hang and displayed completed but when checking the data the backup is not there. Worst happened to me when I did my phone new software installation and did my usual backup, but without checking the data before proceeding doing the new firmware update, now I am not able to restore my previous installation. I am stuck with hours of installing some of the application but some are gone because I dont have the serial nbr.
