Nokia :: OVi Suite - Update Phone Using PC Suite With Updater Software
Jun 18, 2010I used the Ovi suite to install the free maps on my E72 which work great but the software itself is very poorly written, too many bugs and problems so i would like to uninstall it and use the PC suite instead. can I now update my phone using the PC suite with it's updater software or do I have to now rely on the Ovi suite.
The reason I ask instead of having two pieces of software is i want to a Vista/XP (two machines) clean install followed by a Ghost DVD so the smaller image the better (plus i dont like to have **bleep** installed on my machine:-)

Apr 6, 2010How can I make my nokia E71 sync back with PC Suite after I started using OVI Suite? I have a Nokia E71, and i was using Nokia PC Suite to sync it with my outlook 2007 it all worked fine, contacts, to do notes and calendar (i wasn't syncing mail cuase i use gmail), untill the new ovi suite came out and i decided to try it since It sounded better.turns out It really sucked this ovi suite!! one of the worst softwares I've ever used, it duplicated all of the appointments that had color categories in outlook 2007, it is dead slow to sync!!!(i mean reeeaaly slow), even tough the Suite integrates more stuff in to one place it has reduced funcionality to sync stuff with my phone, it offers less funtions, not to mention that the user interface sukcs (its poorly desingned, it takes long to accses stuff, it shows me stuff as if it was advertisement).PC suite was very simple but funcional, oviously i went back to pc suite, to my surprise i couldn't sync, pc suite & the phone would do as if they were syncing, but when i checked at the end it wouldn't sync stuff.

Aug 16, 2010I got this phone 3 months ago, and it paired with PC Suite perfectly, till few days ago, when i lost connection with it, and now PC Suite and OVI Suite can't find my phone. I checked bluetooth device that im using, and made sure that phone bluetooth is on. In Attachment is shown how PC Suite and Bluetooth react when i try to reconnect the phone.

Apr 15, 2010Have a N900. Got the phone to work against Smart Suite and later Ovis Suite very well for the first 3 weeks. Then the trouble started. I used it both with USB cable and BTooth. First my synchronization with Lotus Notes calendar stopped (have to go by the PC), then contacts and messages. And today it does not even recognize the phone as a compatible phone. In the whole period I have been installing all kind of applications. My suspicion is that the trouble is due to an installation of a particular application - my question is:Anyone that got an idea what might have caused this?? Hope for help without re-intsalling the machine.

Aug 23, 2011Yesterday I wanted to update my Nokia E63, I saw there was 2 ways of Updating, 1. Over The Air, but there was no clear definition on how to do that, So I want to the other option, Nokia Ovi PC Suite. The download kept failing but it kept resuming when I tried to download the update again. After the download finished Usually you do not need the internet to install something that you already downloaded (Should Always Be Like That!!) So I thought that and while the update was installing Nokia Ovi PC Suite said something about Cannot Connect To Service, Although My Internet was PERFECT! and I tried to turn on my E63 and it would just vibrate and then turn off. I tried reviving it by leaving the battery out for 5 mins ( I also left it out for 6 hours) And when you turn it on Hold the Green Button Call And the 3 and the *. But none of that works, I wanted to send my phone to Nokia Care through Post But you need the IMEI but How can I do that?

Feb 2, 2012I used the Nokia (N95_1) four years ago as a phone, so I cannot remember where I stored the itty bitty Rogers SIM card or if I threw it away. Now I have this problem with the Nokia Suite not upgrading firmware without the sim card.I use nokia now mostly as a GPS and a Wi-fi net browsing device, so I would like to get the new map version since the current one (v3.01 09wk44 b01) keeps crashing when synchronizing favs. I downloaded the .sis file from softpedia (v3.03 10wk11 b04) but get certificate errors when trying to install it. Does anybody know where can I get a signed map, latest version for nokia n95, with a fix for the sync crash? (It does get sync'ed but closes every time)

Nov 14, 2012i'm using a nokia n8 phone and i used to keep a copy of my photos and videos on my pc using nokia suite, i just clicked on the gallery sync. button and it was done.i recently bought a new memory card and i started downloading videos by the (Internet downloader) app. i have now like 7gb of videos on my memory card.the problem is that now every time i try to sync. the gallery, nokia suite makes a copy of all downloaded videos on my computer. is it possible to set nokia suite to sync. only the photos and the videos taken by the camera and ignore the downloaded videos?

I encounter two problems which both result in being unable to sync my data (establish connection).First option happens when I connect the device and select Connect via Ovi Suite. Jun 11, 2010Trying to get my N97 to connect up to my Win 7 laptop.Every time i try and connect through OVI, when attempting to reach connection it either states "N97 not in USB pc suitemode" (here i have told the phone to automatically connect in PC Suite) there is no problem seeing the phone on the machine thats fine, the main problem is OVI.
PC Suite 7.1.4 - i cant even get this to install, i reach install step 5/6, it doesnt even try and i recieve the error " Installation operation failed - the system cannot find the file specified"
I desperatly need this to work to update the handsets firmware. to do this i need to back it up, to do that i need to use OVI or PC Suite!

Aug 12, 2010bought nokia e71 and i wanna use pc suite with it , but somehow i cant , neither pc suite on cpu neither phone detetcs each other (though i can use mass storage , com port and web cam when i connect phone to pc via usb cable) but with those features working i dont have choise to use pc suite when i connect phone to pc and as i mentioned neither my pc detects phone.i tried reinstaling suite and everything about nokia from my cpu , tried installing older connectivity drivers for nokia and its still the same i have 3 features working but when it comes to pc suite it blows.

May 9, 2010I am trying to connect/synch my N97 to PC's running Windows XP or Vista. Generally the app crashes shortly after synchronizing a few items or right at the start. Also, when I connect the phone the system continues to "find" an MTP device and keeps asking for a reboot. I regret to say that this is an extremely disappointing piece of software by a worldwide maker. It is painfully slow to download and install, and in the end it does not even work.

Feb 9, 2010I have a brand new Nokia E63.I can't get the Nokia PC suite to 'see' it.I have uninstalled, reinstalled the software - got the most up to date, mad sure I run the Nokia cleaner software to remove all traces, tried the cable drivers, selected the right connection mode on the phone (and tried all the others), got the right CA-101 USB cable (brand new), and followed all the help screens and files I can find. In short I have tried every combination I can think of (and I'm handy around a PC), but the software suite still it can't see the phone when it goes to look for it.I can't even change the connection mode on the phone to mass storage device and get windows to see it when I plug in the USB connection.In short I am totally baffled and can't find my micro SD card reader so connecting the phone is my only current option to update my SD card data. I would certainly welcome some pointers as I can't think of anything else to try and have literally spent hours trying to get it to work. Absolutely nothing happens when I plug the phone into the PC and this seems so odd - normally windows sees something.Running Windows XP on a HP Compaq nx 6325 with Zone Alarm virus and firewall in the background if that makes any difference.

Jan 7, 2010I have the newest PC-suite version 7.1.40.1 installed on XP. I get my N900 connected to the computer, but i am not able to do anything. For example it isn't possible to pick my phone when i try to sync it with my computer. I can see it in the list, but i can't pick it. The other features in pc-suite doesn't work also, it is just connected.I have searched the net now for many hours and tried updating and installing everything in my opinion. Jun 18, 2010During the backup process there is an option to backup "Device settings and applications".Well, call me stupid, but I assumed that this option would backup my phone's settings and applications!After being advised by Nokia Support to reset my phone (due to another problem), I did it in the knowledge that my settings had been backed up.However when attempting the restore, there was no option to restore the settings, just options to restore messages, docs, images etc.So I've now had to spend a long time putting all my settings back in.To say the least, I'm not very impressed!I was wondering if there is any proper software around that will backup EVERYTHING.

Jul 18, 2010When I click on install option from OVI Suite to update to the latest version, It keeps saying there's no network connection even though my net connection works fine. i tried installing the new version of Ovi Suite by downloading from Nokia Site, even that hangs after a while of installtion progress. Is there a easy way to upgrade or update new Ovi Suite ? Also if I cancel any installation mid way, I am not able to start it again unless I clear all installation files after restarting.this is frustrating to see a simple software upgrade is so cubersome.

Apr 2, 2010I have an X6 and when I try to sync it with PC Suite and Ovi, they either do not recognise the device, or cannot detect that it is connected. I have reinstalled all the software from the Nokia site, reset the phone (soft and hard) and it still doesn't work. I have been reading a lot of comments and it seems that if you have this handset with O2, then neither of these applications will work. O2 say that the handset is fine and it is an issue with Nokia. Nokia have told me to do all the things as above. At a bit of a loss now! Have 3 days in which to reject phone.
