Contact your service provider." error. I only use this phone for calling, no email/im services/texting, just calls so what is it trying to accomplish?

Error message code 80043ab4. 1 suggestion was to uninstal Nokia Suite completely and start again. Have done that twice but contacts will still not sync. Same error number. At one point I found Nokia PC Suite and that synced my contacts, but I understand PC Suite is being discontinued and Nokia Suite is best flavour?

Jun 18, 2010I used the Ovi suite to install the free maps on my E72 which work great but the software itself is very poorly written, too many bugs and problems so i would like to uninstall it and use the PC suite instead. can I now update my phone using the PC suite with it's updater software or do I have to now rely on the Ovi suite.
The reason I ask instead of having two pieces of software is i want to a Vista/XP (two machines) clean install followed by a Ghost DVD so the smaller image the better (plus i dont like to have **bleep** installed on my machine:-)

Apr 25, 2010Right so Ovi Suite 2.1 doesn't appear to do anything with maps Maps Updater complains about another instance being active (have to kill NokiaMServer.exe process) and then can't find my phone via BT (Ovi can) Moreover, what does Maps Updater do? Does it update the maps, update the map sw? I can Never remember And what about Map Loader? Does that install new maps to the device, or update the Map sw? Wouldn't you expect that whichever sw is used to download new maps would also be able to check if there are newer versions available? And the amazing Ovi Suite (sarcasm) doesn't this do anything with Maps? Who knows... And free navigation for the N79??? Status? Will this ever be supported? The applications may as well be written in Finnish, because I sure as heck can't figure it out (BTW Helsinki is a lovely city though and the ppl are friendly, but a guy I met there with a N97 said he hated the darned thing and would be upgrading to an iPhone asap)

Jan 26, 2010In Maps Updater you can or could select all the countries & provinces you wanted then start the download and come back later when it had finished. Using Maps in OVI Suite, you have to select and download each item one-by-one. I download a couple of entire countries plus about 8 individual French provinces. It's a real pain to have to keep coming back to see if one item has finished so you can select the next, especially since after each French province finishes the selection always jumps back to 'Albania' and I have to navigate back to France again. Sorry, even if you are on commission from the Albanian tourist authority, I have no plans to visit Albania for the time being!
Seriously though, is it so hard to retain the tick boxes to select all the maps and voices you want before you kick of the downloads, so you don't have to spend an hour watching progress bar and can do something more useful with your time? I just find the functional redesign baffling. Next time I'll go back to using Maps Updater, and hope this isn't going to be entirely superseded by OVI Suite, at least until it has the multiple-choice tick-boxes!

Jul 3, 2012There is a problem with Nokia Browser on the Nokia Asha 300.The problem is that the browser does not clear cookies when the user toggles 'clear cookies'.The PHP script bellow will demonstrate Nokia Browser's failure to clear cookies.What the PHP script does is generate a random number to a variable within the cookie session. As long as you are using the cookie it creates, then PHP will not generate a new random number. You can see this by hitting refresh - the number will not change.If you visit the page (script) on Firefox, Internet Explorer, Chrome etc and then delete the cookie, a new random will generate.If you visit the page (script) on Nokia Browser and then clear cookies, returning to the page does not generate a new number. Oct 25, 2010I discovered the other day I still have messages on my old Nokia 1100 phone. At first I thought ok, just put in a sim and copy them across. But the 1100 doesn't have this option. Since this handset is locked, I can't put in a sim and forward them either. It's odd the phone has internal memory but won't let you copy/move or do anything with the messages.
I've looked online for a data cable for the 1100. Maybe if I connect it to a computer I can extract or copy them then? I want to get these messages on my new phone with all the original details (dates, numbers etc.) intact. My googling so far for a data cable only brings up other nokia cables where the seller has just added the 1100 model number, but it clearly isn't the right cable for this phone.

Aug 2, 2011Our company has recently bought 220pcs of nokia 2710 (brand new). After using them for 3days (8 hour shifts) GPS started to fail - the GPS icon just disappears and GPS itself does not send any new data. Some of the phones recover after a full restart others don't.I have called Nokia support and according to them if the GPS icon is missing the phone is defect.We have already replaced 30 phones under warranty, but each day new ones are affected by this issue. I suspected there might be some energy saving feature (although most users have the car charger connected all the time) or other option which turns off the GPS, but again Nokia support says no. Does anybody know how to resolve this issue or are the phones just not built for 8hour GPS standby?
