Oct 3, 2011My Photon has been pretty much flawless, but it has needed reboots twice and both times after disconnecting from the Car Dock.

Motorola Photon Q 4G :: HD Dock & Nav Dock Won't Work
Aug 21, 2012It is so ridiculously annoying and pathetic that Motorola made a Photon 4G Q which won't be able to use original Photon 4G's accessories?I just bought Motorola Photon 4G HD Dock & Nav Dock and realized that Motorola Photon 4G Q has its HDMI & micro USB slots in different location than the original Photon.So that your loyal customers give you more $$$ to buy new accessories?

Oct 28, 2011Has anyone seen / experienced this? When I have my photon in the car dock and using the GPS, I am unable to receive incoming calls. My girlfriend has called me for the past three days and she says my phone rings and rings and goes to voicemail. I have Sprint Service. I am not using TeleNav or any other navagation, I am just using the GPS mode and Bluetooth is also running. I dont have any other issues with not receiving incoming calls unless its in the dock.

Microphone on phone picks up your voice as it would on any other call.

What happened??Before, I could change the Dock icons with whatever I wanted it to be.Now I want to change the Contact icon and use the DejaContacts because my sync with my PC goes to DejaOffice.Can now only use what the "add icon" screen will allow.

Aug 30, 2012I have the Motorola car dock, and when the phone is docked, the volume buttons do nothing. I want to turn up the volume on the phone becuase even when I trun my radio up all the way, the volume is still not loud enough.
If I undock the phone and just use the headphone jack, I can turn the volume up and down on the phone.
So for some reason, the dock disables the use of the buttons.

Aug 3, 2011I discovered a security issue witht he cardock.
If my phone is locked and I am using a pin number for security, the phone never asks me to input my pin number once I place the phone in the cardock. The phone wakes up, unlocks and goes to the car dock screen. This is a bit scary, if that is all a person has to do to gain access to a locked phone.

Aug 30, 2011how to activate the full screen keyboard on my photon while I'm using the hd dock? I have a wireless mouse, and I'm waiting for a keyboard but for some reason, I can't figure out how to bring up the full screen keyboard on the actual photon while I'm using the hd dock. I know it can be done because I saw it at the sprint store and I read of others doing it but all the searching I've done hasn't lead me to an answer. To clarify, I'm trying to figure out how to bring the keyboard up on the photon screen so I can type in web top mode until my regular keyboard arrives.

Feb 25, 2012My problem is I cannot use any keyboard in Webtop mode.I have an MB855 Photon 4G with the HD Dock and a Motorola keyboard w/trackpad.I can connect to the dock fine and open the Webtop application, shows up on my TV and looks dandy. Then I turn on Bluetooth and pair the keyboard (Motorola 89507 wireless keyboard with trackpad) with the phone. It requests a numeric code which I enter on the keyboard and hit enter- presto.Now the screen on the phone changes to a clock and I can control the cursor through the trackpad on the keyboard. BUT no matter what I do the keyboard will not type letters. No keys on the keyboard appear to have any functionality.At this point I undocked the phone, then the keyboard works fine!Plug it back into the dock and -whoop- right back to no keyboard.At this point I decided to try my Logitech mouse & keyboard. I plugged in a Logitech unifying receiver into the back of the HD Dock and the screen flashed- but nothing else.

It doesn't seem to recognize that I have plugged a USB cable from the dock to my PC? What I wanted to do, was use it in the USB Mass Storage mode just like I do with a cable--nice fast file transfers, using the file explorer on my PC...

I went to Applications>Development> Unchecked Stay Awake and it keeps becomming checked everytime I reinstert it onto the Motorola Dock! Sep 6, 2011I've had my Photon for two weeks now and love it, but I've noticed it tend to randomly reboot itself after being removed from a car charger. Now the phone boots until it gets into the android operating system, then resets itself. This makes me VERY nervous for two reasons. I don't want to be stuk with a hone that reboots constantly, and more importantly, I sell them and don't want to have to tell everyone I've sold to that I've made a mistake. Is there a fix for this other than a hard reset?

Sep 6, 2011their battery full to only discover the battery is near dead moments later... "The attery is not really dead but rather the phone is just not recognizing it", etc.., etc...,...The hardware problem that I believe is the root cause of all or most of these issues is the battery connection to the phone... People have taken their phones back for another one only to have the same issues with the new one... They have factory reset them, deleted apps, downloaded the update thinking it would fix these issues... I bought my phone 09/03/11 and within an hour of purchase it random rebooted and later that evening completely shutdown requiring a battery pull to reboot... The next day it shutdown 3 times requiring a battery pull... Usually when I just sat the phone down face up.. I believe the battery is separating enough from the contacts when in certain positions to cause these disorders... My phone never did this while recharging because it had a steady power source... That along with those who were experiencing full charge to low charge moments later led me to this conclusion... Happy to report I have for my phone at least eliminated the problem.\
THE FIX: Simply snap in your battery with the phone face down making sure its snug... Simply apply a strip of electrical tape next to the kick stand where the contacts are located... The tape should extend about a 1/4 inch either side of the battery... This secures the battery from moving in the contact area... The Micro SD a Sim card slots are at the other end of the battery and are still accessible... This back cover is not really effected and in fact it only makes it more snug... This fix has completely eliminated reboot & shutdown problems on my phone... Until Motorola factory fixes this issue, this is the best next thing... My EVO had tape all over under the hood and if you do it right it looks factory
Motorola Photon 4G :: Text Input Fails Until Reboot?
Oct 4, 2011Suddenly started having an issue, wonder if anyone else has seen it. Periodically, I'll be unable to enter text into an SMS. The keyboard will pop up, but nothing I type actually registers. The only way I've found to resolve the issue is to reboot, which only lasts a few hours.

Jan 23, 2012Ever since I have had this phone (Since the first day it was available) I have never really had a great experience with the GPS on this phone. The problem is very random, basically at some point I will try to use a app that uses a GPS location like Gas Buddy and it will report a location from hours or days previous. Most of the time I can turn off the GPS and turn it on and it will work. But some times I need to reboot the phone. In addition to the that problem if I am using Google navigation, Telnav or Waze it will make a look and start navigating then states it lost GPS and it never gets it back. At that point I have to reboot the phone as nothing else will work to resolve the problem.

Oct 27, 2011I have an issue with my Motorola photon 4g since I bought it (2 months old now). It may reboots when I am trying to make a phone call. It happens everyday randomly and it is getting worse. If one day I need to make an emergency, I may need to wait a few minutes for it to boot up (lol) before I can use it. I have used Palm treo phone for many year and never have any problem. I went to sprint service center and the sprint technician reset it but it still has the same problem. I will come back to Sprint again for service. FYI, I will update this post soon I have more info.

My phone did the initial reboot but came back with Update Failed.Update Motorola Software says. An Update is currently being downloaded. You will be notified when the download is complete. Jan 19, 2012I'm on my second Motorola Standard Dock for the Droid. In each case the dock worked fine for a short time, then phone suddenly stopped going into "dock mode" when inserted. The connection is OK: Still charges the phone. Just no dock mode features, which is why I bought the dock in the first place. Tried every combination of seating while turned on/off, seating then turning on/off, powering and de-powering dock, etc. No dice. Phone docks fine and enters car dock mode with car cradle. Using provided charger(s) with dock(s). Have not tried full reset of phone due to hassle of reinstalling apps, etc., but powered up, removed battery, etc. Am I really so unlucky as to get two defective docks or is there a software issue here?

Jan 9, 2012I have a major issue with my corporate exchange calendar. If I accept an invitation to a meeting, the phone makes me the organizer of the meeting. This syncs back to my corporate calendar. This is obviously completely wrong. If I delete the meeting on my phone, or on my computer, it sends out a message to everyone that was on the meeting saying that it was cancelled. If I need to adjust the meeting only on my calendar, it sends out an update to everyone. It has caused a lot of confusion for me and my work colleagues.
