Motorola Photon 4G :: Phone Calls Disconnect After 30 Minutes?
Nov 8, 2011I mean its like clockwork, whenever I'm talking to someone at exactly 30 minutes of talking my photon just hangs up. Anyone else have this problem?

Motorola Photon 4G :: 10 Minutes Later Go To Use The Phone And It Was Off?
Aug 19, 2011I contacted technical support and they said that it was new and needed to charge overnight. So it charged overnight and it continued to shut down several times that day. It did it a few times on the morning of the 18th so I took it to the Sprint Store. They said it was a simple fix and that the SIM was causing the problem. They took the SIM out and restarted the phone and voila- right? WRONG, 10 minutes later I go to use the phone and it was off AGAIN. I took it right back to the store and they said that they forgot to do a factory reset without the SIM in the phone. So the did the reset. I refused to leave the parking lot until I knew it would not shut off. Like clockwork, within 15 minutes it was off again.
I demanded a swap and they gave me a different PHOTON. It was great for about 24 hours and today restarted by itself once and then a few minutes later just shut down again. I called Sprint and the rep actually told me to try putting a piece of folded paper between the battery and the back plate!!! I just paid a load for this phone and I shouldn't have to rig it with folded paper. What is the deal with these phones? Are they all like this or are there some that are actually functioning properly? Is there a specific lot number or part that causes it?

Jan 23, 2012I have a Sprint Motorola Photon 4G and I am using it in Brazil with a Claro SIM Card. The phone reboots itself sometimes when I try to make or receive a phone call (2 or 3 times a day). I know this is happening to other Photon owners and I already tried the factory reset twice. My build # is 4.5.1A-1_SUN-198_6. Does anyone know a fix for that?

My wife's Nexus goes dark (locks) during a call, and the screen comes back on (unlocks) after her call is complete.

Feb 10, 2010I live in Downtown Los Angeles, so reception isn't a problem. I usually always get full bars. However, when talking on long phone calls 20+ minutes with full bars, my phone will just cut off and say call failed. Then I have no reception, then it just comes back.
Is this a iPhone issue or a ATT issue? I have an odd suspicion it's my phone because it occurs so frequently, but Ive had difficulty asking the apple bar to replace my phone just because of reception issues.

It went up a lot after the last update but seems even longer now, is there anything I can do about this, 7 minutes seems excessive to me.
Motorola Photon 4G :: Photon In Car Dock - Not Receiving Calls?
Oct 28, 2011Has anyone seen / experienced this? When I have my photon in the car dock and using the GPS, I am unable to receive incoming calls. My girlfriend has called me for the past three days and she says my phone rings and rings and goes to voicemail. I have Sprint Service. I am not using TeleNav or any other navagation, I am just using the GPS mode and Bluetooth is also running. I dont have any other issues with not receiving incoming calls unless its in the dock.

Jul 24, 2012I have the phone connected to Windows (XP) and I can't disconnect it as a mass storage device from the phone.. I pull the drop-down down and tap "Connected as mass storage" and then try to uncheck Mass Storage... and nothing happens. Wonderful. I guess I have to disconnect through Windows or just rip the cable out of the computer; now I feel safer.

Aug 16, 2011Once I make a 3 way call and hit "end last call" I can't redial or make another 3 way call without hanging up and doing it again. This is a major flaw. It allows me to hang the other call up but I can't retry them if I get voicemail or phone is busy.

Any chance the moderators here can set up a sticky on the forum with an official FAQ on the problem, possible fixes (tried, proven or otherwise) and, most importantly, any feedback on when Motorola and its new Google masters will, as some say, send out a software fix OTA?
Would also love to see any official Motorola or Sprint comments on this issue posted on the sticky as well, so we can separate the official company line from rumor.
I really like this phone, but this calling audio bug is unacceptable and I will return it and spurn any Motorola devices from here out unless the companies provide some concrete feedback on what they're doing to correct this issue and a timetable for when they will take action to do so.
Motorola Photon 4G :: Proximity Sensor Not Working While On Calls
Sep 9, 2011I've seen this issue posted, but no updates or feedback in a while. While on a call the screen does not turn off, and I am constantly hanging up on people. I have installed the recent update that fixed the no call audio issue, and have rebooted the phone several times. The reboot will fix the problem, but only temporarily. I have also played with the pocket detection setting, and that does not make a difference. I do use bluetooth, and am thinking that it has something to do with it.

Jan 13, 2012My phone is always changing the signal quality on it. The top of the information area will turn from green to grey to nothing over and over again. If i place or receive a call within a few minutes it drops with no record of the call. The internet is the same i will have 4g service and then it will crawl. All the salesman suggested is that I do a factory reset and lose everything on the phone. I dont want to lose some games i paid for. May 2, 20121. I can't disconnect calls. I generally happens when I'm on back to back calls. The phone becomes unresponsive for about 10~15 seconds before you could do anything with it.
2. When I'm listening to music and someone calls me, I hear a sharp noise when phone call overlaps music. Once I disconnect the call, the volume in the headsets remains fixed, you can't reduce or increase the volume. The solution here is to remove the headset from phone and plug them back in. If that doesn't work then re-start the phone!

Apr 23, 2010For the last 2 weeks, I've been receiving a call from a "private number." The calls come at either 10 or 11 AM and also at 2 or 3 PM like its happening on the hour. They are disconnected from the other end after 3 seconds...there is no one on the line, nothing computerized, no static, nothing. Anyone else having these issues? I have the latest VZW software fwiw.
