Jan 23, 2012I have a Sprint Motorola Photon 4G and I am using it in Brazil with a Claro SIM Card. The phone reboots itself sometimes when I try to make or receive a phone call (2 or 3 times a day). I know this is happening to other Photon owners and I already tried the factory reset twice. My build # is 4.5.1A-1_SUN-198_6. Does anyone know a fix for that?

Jan 26, 2011when I push the button that looks like a phone all my previous calls come up, is there a way to clear them all at once? The only way I see it is highlight the call press menu button then scroll down to delete on each call.

My wife's Nexus goes dark (locks) during a call, and the screen comes back on (unlocks) after her call is complete.

I would like to clear my list because it
1) has multiple duplicate entries (I edited out the "1" before the area code in my contacts after I realized it wasn't necessary, so now almost everyone I've texted is listed twice, once with the "1", once without), and
2) it has an incorrect number that is very easily confused for the correct one (I once mistakenly transposed two numbers of the number I call/text the most)

Sep 22, 2011Is there a setting to allow a caller to be heard through the vehicle speakers while not muting the microphone?
The reason I ask is when I connect the Photon to the vehicle navigation dock it defaults the calls to speakerphone (not the vehicle speakers) and if I turn the speakerphone off the caller can be heard through the car speakers BUT the caller cannot hear me.

Sep 1, 2011Yesterday I realized that my phone was not receiving incoming texts or phone calls. I power cycled my phone and several texts from the last 1 1/2 days came through. My phone also started to work again. Has this happened to anyone else? Again this phone has a problem with its most basic function.

Oct 24, 2011all the recent photos that I have taken apparently do not show up when trying to view them on my PC. I am using a PNY MicroSDHC Class 10 SD Card. I only noticed this just now when trying to transfer some of my recent photo images to my pc - unfortunately, they are only in thumbnail size.I can view the DCIM.thumbnails but they (large 8mp size jpg) are missing in the DCIMCamera folder. > this is examined when plugging into PC (USB Mass Storage)I tried searching the entire photon for the JPG's by date but the full size ones are not there. Only the thumbnails of the recent and old and old large size photos are there.
I took a few shots right now and the same thing is happening. I have set the camera to save on SD card.All my past images/videos and files/documents are still viewable in full size on the SD card via windows explorer. I tried to power down and remove-reinsert SD card but the recent images in full size are not there.I did a search via windows explorer for all JPEGs on the entire drive but it seems all of the recent photos I took are not there, only the thumbnail files.Also, I had purchased this card "as is" new and never did any formating - it seemed to have worked okay up until now.

Oct 28, 2011Has anyone seen / experienced this? When I have my photon in the car dock and using the GPS, I am unable to receive incoming calls. My girlfriend has called me for the past three days and she says my phone rings and rings and goes to voicemail. I have Sprint Service. I am not using TeleNav or any other navagation, I am just using the GPS mode and Bluetooth is also running. I dont have any other issues with not receiving incoming calls unless its in the dock.

Aug 4, 2010My wife and I both have Motorola phones on Boost mobile. Mine's the i335, and hers is the i296. We both have an identical issue, which is that missed calls with no caller ID details aren't displayed in the recent calls list -- as soon as the popup showing a missed call has been acknowledged, it's effectively as if the call simply never happened. Every other phone I've ever owned -- including Motorolas -- has shown these calls as "Unknown" in the recent calls list.
Is there something we're missing (perhaps a setting that would fix this issue), or is this the standard behaviour for these models?

Aug 16, 2011Once I make a 3 way call and hit "end last call" I can't redial or make another 3 way call without hanging up and doing it again. This is a major flaw. It allows me to hang the other call up but I can't retry them if I get voicemail or phone is busy.

Any chance the moderators here can set up a sticky on the forum with an official FAQ on the problem, possible fixes (tried, proven or otherwise) and, most importantly, any feedback on when Motorola and its new Google masters will, as some say, send out a software fix OTA?
Would also love to see any official Motorola or Sprint comments on this issue posted on the sticky as well, so we can separate the official company line from rumor.
I really like this phone, but this calling audio bug is unacceptable and I will return it and spurn any Motorola devices from here out unless the companies provide some concrete feedback on what they're doing to correct this issue and a timetable for when they will take action to do so.
Motorola Photon 4G :: Proximity Sensor Not Working While On Calls
Sep 9, 2011I've seen this issue posted, but no updates or feedback in a while. While on a call the screen does not turn off, and I am constantly hanging up on people. I have installed the recent update that fixed the no call audio issue, and have rebooted the phone several times. The reboot will fix the problem, but only temporarily. I have also played with the pocket detection setting, and that does not make a difference. I do use bluetooth, and am thinking that it has something to do with it.

Jan 13, 2012My phone is always changing the signal quality on it. The top of the information area will turn from green to grey to nothing over and over again. If i place or receive a call within a few minutes it drops with no record of the call. The internet is the same i will have 4g service and then it will crawl. I have to keep the phone still to maintain the signal. if i even move my hand the signal is gone.I know it is not sprint cause my wife has a diffent phone and it works perfectly she is chatting away on it all day never had a signal issue. went the spint salesman and he didnt understand why it was doing that. It dropped a call right in the store.I am on the sprint network, I have updated my profile and all the updates are complete. All the salesman suggested is that I do a factory reset and lose everything on the phone. I dont want to lose some games i paid for. Aug 19, 2011I contacted technical support and they said that it was new and needed to charge overnight. So it charged overnight and it continued to shut down several times that day. It did it a few times on the morning of the 18th so I took it to the Sprint Store. They said it was a simple fix and that the SIM was causing the problem. They took the SIM out and restarted the phone and voila- right? WRONG, 10 minutes later I go to use the phone and it was off AGAIN. I took it right back to the store and they said that they forgot to do a factory reset without the SIM in the phone. So the did the reset. I refused to leave the parking lot until I knew it would not shut off. Like clockwork, within 15 minutes it was off again.
I demanded a swap and they gave me a different PHOTON. It was great for about 24 hours and today restarted by itself once and then a few minutes later just shut down again. I called Sprint and the rep actually told me to try putting a piece of folded paper between the battery and the back plate!!! I just paid a load for this phone and I shouldn't have to rig it with folded paper. What is the deal with these phones? Are they all like this or are there some that are actually functioning properly? Is there a specific lot number or part that causes it?
