Samsung :: SPH-m560 Clearing - Send To Recent

Is there a way to clear the "send to recent" list that pops up when you use the "text" shortcut button?

I would like to clear my list because it

1) has multiple duplicate entries (I edited out the "1" before the area code in my contacts after I realized it wasn't necessary, so now almost everyone I've texted is listed twice, once with the "1", once without), and

2) it has an incorrect number that is very easily confused for the correct one (I once mistakenly transposed two numbers of the number I call/text the most)
