Im not sure why but as of yesterday my clock has disappeared from the main screen My main is exactly like this minus the clock (top part including date)
I'm trying to free up some room. I went to My Files, then My Documents and found a lot of old docs that I downloaded for one-time purposes only, and so I went to delete them, only to get a Failed to Delete notification. These are Word docs and Adobe files I downloaded myself, nothing important. How come I can't delete them??
I am trying to extend battery life and kill some native apps. One that shows as a big battery drain is Geo News but I can't find the app to uninstall it. When I go to the Play Store it only gives me the option to install it. This is on my Galaxy S5 which I've had since November and the last couple of weeks I've been going through the battery huge. Trying to follow all the advice here to delete and disable, but so far not terribly successful.
Ever since getting my XOOM back from Motorola after the 4G upgrade (Android 3.2.2, non-Root) I get a force close on the Market when trying to install Documents To Go 3.0 Main application. I can download and install the Pro Key which I bought from the Market with no issues. I have tried the Factory Reset and I still get same issue.
Exception class name: java.lang.StringIndexOutOfBoundsException
Can only delete one photo at a time, then it comes back? if I try to delete more than one photo deletion screen freezes and I need to reboot, I have bout 300 unwanted photos downloaded from Google picassa.
I use my phone now. The recent apps/multiwindow thing keeps popping up, no matter what I'm doing and even if I quit all my running apps. Despite restarts and complete phone drainage, this problem keeps occuring for the past month or 2.
I use my phone to play games a lot (like several hours a day), have active Line group conversations, use Facebook app frequently w/its Messenger app, and I also use Dodol Launcher for my phone too. I really don't want to go to the factory default method of fixing things, especially since it's a major pain to reinstall all the games that I have installed. However, a quick search through google doesn't seem to show any results about this continuous recent apps popup bug.
So I've had the M8 for a couple of weeks,I've NEVER used the 'Recent Apps' button, except to clear out all of the recently used apps, thinking maybe its gonna free up some memory and make the phone faster or something. I wish you could modify this button to maybe something you actually USE more, like 'Settings', or go back to the much missed 'Menu' button. I have immediate access to over 50 apps/actions on my home screen, so it would actually be slower to bring up the 'Recent Apps' screen to access an app.
Is there a way to find out what apps were recently deleted ?Reason I ask is 2 apps are missing form my 1 of my home screen and have no idea what apps that are missing.
I've been trying to figure out if it's possible to bypass the initial splash screen (sorry I don't know what it's called) that needs to be swiped out of the way in order to go to the home screen. I'd prefer to go straight to the apps screen when the phone wakes up if possible. Then the problem I have with the Home and Apps screens is if I have the phone on a stand and using a BT Mouse and KB, those screens do not auto rotate into Landscape mode, so the mouse pointer is not usable unless you prop the phone up in Portrait mode. Is there any way to make those screens auto rotate as well?
When you view your email through the preinstalled apps, either Hotmail or Google. When you viewed them and deleted them then return to your email on a PC/Desktop the emails you've deleted are still there?
Is there a way of changing the screen-off option for specific apps on SG2 Android - i.e. I start an app and don't want screen to go off until I close the app.
I have a s6, and my recent app button works automatically without me touching it.
If i touch the button it doesn't work. If i touch the back the button it works and both the lights on the side buttons work. But if i touch the recent apps button it doesn't work.
It will automatically work by itself and it does so to the point where i can use my phone, it keeps bringing up recent apps, split screen view, i cant even use my phone because the menu button keeps automatically pressing/working by itself. I don't know what caused this..
I'm an unhappy victim of the great Lollipop Update. Now without warning the Recent Apps button and the Home button just stop responding periodically. Like I'll be in a phone call and want to take a picture or look something up and pressing Home or Recent Apps does nothing. If I restart the phone then they work as expected even when in a call. Eventually though, they just stop working.
I've been reading about others having bad luck with Lollipop. So I thought I'd just go back to 4.4.4 because everything worked then. So far, I've downloaded Kies3 and done a complete backup. I decided to try a factory reset to see if that would make Lollipop behave. Nope. Within 20 minutes the buttons stopped again. It's not always in calls, it's just that I can't restart the phone when in a call to make it work and that is not usable.
So, before I go regrade back to 4.4.4 - why the buttons just quit every so often and maybe how to fix it?
ok i just got my new 9700. how in the world do i move apps from in a folder to the main screen so i do not have to hunt them down everytime i want to use them.
After upgrading to Gingerbread I noticed that when I go to the recent apps screen and I try to open Tweetdeck (seems to be the only app that does this) I get a "Application is not installed on phone" error message. Which makes no sense because it's running in the background and opens fine. I've cleared my cache and uninstalled and reinstalled TD and still get the error. Assuming this is a bug, but it seems weird to only happen for a specific app.
When browsing trough one of my favourite news sites, I noticed when pressing the return button, it does the same as the recent apps button. It brings up the list of all my recently used apps.
I have tried a bunch of things like clearing the cache, getting a third party app to get a return button on the screen, even a full factory reset.
Just updated via Samsung Apps the camera firmware to a CDE11 or something version. Took 4 minutes to update and flash this firmware. I wonder what exactly it changed in the camera firmware? Hopefully improved things or bug fixes.I will test a few videos and see if the bitrate has changed or not.
