When browsing trough one of my favourite news sites, I noticed when pressing the return button, it does the same as the recent apps button. It brings up the list of all my recently used apps.
I have tried a bunch of things like clearing the cache, getting a third party app to get a return button on the screen, even a full factory reset.
So on my S6, the Recent Apps button is no longer working or even lit. When I open several apps, I'm unable to use that button.
I cleared cache, etc. VZW is offering me a new phone, but it's "factory reconditioned" and I'd like to keep this one.
I have a s6, and my recent app button works automatically without me touching it.
If i touch the button it doesn't work.
If i touch the back the button it works and both the lights on the side buttons work.
But if i touch the recent apps button it doesn't work.
It will automatically work by itself and it does so to the point where i can use my phone, it keeps bringing up recent apps, split screen view, i cant even use my phone because the menu button keeps automatically pressing/working by itself. I don't know what caused this..
I've turned it off and left it off. The recent apps button did work but it will not work now but the home button and back buttons still work.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm an unhappy victim of the great Lollipop Update. Now without warning the Recent Apps button and the Home button just stop responding periodically. Like I'll be in a phone call and want to take a picture or look something up and pressing Home or Recent Apps does nothing. If I restart the phone then they work as expected even when in a call. Eventually though, they just stop working.
I've been reading about others having bad luck with Lollipop. So I thought I'd just go back to 4.4.4 because everything worked then. So far, I've downloaded Kies3 and done a complete backup. I decided to try a factory reset to see if that would make Lollipop behave. Nope. Within 20 minutes the buttons stopped again. It's not always in calls, it's just that I can't restart the phone when in a call to make it work and that is not usable.
So, before I go regrade back to 4.4.4 - why the buttons just quit every so often and maybe how to fix it?
So I've had the M8 for a couple of weeks,I've NEVER used the 'Recent Apps' button, except to clear out all of the recently used apps, thinking maybe its gonna free up some memory and make the phone faster or something. I wish you could modify this button to maybe something you actually USE more, like 'Settings', or go back to the much missed 'Menu' button. I have immediate access to over 50 apps/actions on my home screen, so it would actually be slower to bring up the 'Recent Apps' screen to access an app.

View 9 Replies View RelatedA couple weeks ago I put a needle (needle and thread) on my phone screen for like 2 seconds, the needle rolled to the side and went between the screen and he side of the phone, as I tried to get it out it went in further and was pushed behind the screen on Saturday I took the phone a part, managed to get the needle out and put the phone back together. Once it was back together I switched it back on and now the call/menu/return and end call buttons are not working. They do click when pressed but they don't actually do anything anymore. View 1 Replies View RelatedNo matter what I do the WiFi on my Samsung Galaxy S6 does not work with certain apps and processes. It seems to be connected with Google- such as, pictures on the Play Store will not load, YouTube videos constantly are loading but never play and certain games think I am not connected to the internet at all. Things like web browsing and google search work fine however, but streaming is incredibly slow. This ONLY happens with my AT&T WiFi at home- WiFi in other locations works just fine. My WiFi signal is full strength at home. I constantly have to use my data services (T-Mobile) and everything works great then.
Here is what I already tried:
1. Changing my DNS settings to Google Server
2. Clear app data and caches
3. Uninstalling and reinstalling the apps
4. Complete factory reset of the device (and lost all my games from a corrupt backup file, with nothing working still)
When I was resetting my device, I knew the WiFi still wasn't working because when it tried to connect to my google account only and not my Samsung account (again- google seems to be where the problem happens) it was stuck at "getting info". But when I switched to data it worked.
I have recently downladed Handcent for my sms messages and it�s a great improvement on the stock software (even though I previously thought the stock one was fine).ould you all recommend your preferred apps to take over other basic phone functions, such as the dialler, an email client, camera, music player, etc.

My buttons seemed to have stopped working properly. In order to adjust the volume using the side button, I have to shut down the phone and then restart it. It will work for a while and then stops working and I have to go thru the process again. The home button just works whenever it wants. It doesn't fix the problem when I restart the phone. I can slide my finger in a circle around the button and it still doesn't work.

I have one question regarding the flashing light of the selection button. When mobile phone Nokia E52 is leave to close the screen light, the light of the selection button is flashing by one flash each 10 secodns, I mention cause are not missing phone or missing messeges. lately my nokia lumia 900 has been pushing the back button and home butting while i'm watching videos. its really frustrating when watching Internet videos and i already have to wait for them to buffer and if it decides to push the back button i have to wait again.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy touch screen has been playing up for several weeks nowWhen I try to touch the main screen it will select an area to the right of where I am touching, i.e. clicking the dial pad button will actually select the contacts button, clicking 'answer' on the keypad will put the caller on hold etc etc. Other times the scren will not respon at all.
The funny thing is, when I remove the phone's plastic casing, the touch screen works fine! Similarly, if i push the top part of the case to the sides (so it is not in contact with the digitiser) the touch screen will work again until my phone goes on lock and then when I unlock it the touch screen is stuffed again.
I'm not sure if this is a software or hardware problem. On one hand its as if the plastic casing of the phone is rubbing (putting pressure on) against the side of the touchscreen and causing it to not work (hardware) while on the other hand it could be software in that the problem keeps happening everytime the screen goes to sleep (it's not initialising right).The other problem which started at the exact same time is that the green button is not working sometimes when I try to answer calls or turn off my alarm.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should try? I've already done a hard reset. The next step is to buy a new digitizer/plastic case and see if that solves the problem.
