My phone came up with a message asking if i wanted to update to the new software so clicked ok, it seemed to be taking ages and then suddenly went off. Now when holding down the power button and the home button it is still not working and wont restore?

My buttons seemed to have stopped working properly. In order to adjust the volume using the side button, I have to shut down the phone and then restart it. It will work for a while and then stops working and I have to go thru the process again. The home button just works whenever it wants. It doesn't fix the problem when I restart the phone. I can slide my finger in a circle around the button and it still doesn't work.

have had my iphone for almost 1 and a half years, and about 8 months ago my home button started wrecking; i would press it and it would either not open the iphone (take it off sleep mode to show lock screen) or the button would get stuck in and would start the voice control.. then about one week ago my vibrate button wasnt vibrating, even when i got a call or message or alarm... around one year ago, my camera started wrecking; like i would go into it and it would be blurry, and over the past year it has been getting worse and worse, and now i cant use my back camera at all.

I recently bought an apple 4S 16GB phone and been using the same since last about 20 days. Recently for no apparent reason, my iphone 4s went completely blank, neither power nor Home button worked. I had to press power and home button simultaneously to reboot and get it started. It happened twice in a span of 3 days. I am using Vodafone 3G services in India. Its quite annoying to find your phone in a vegetable state and wait for 1-2 minutes to get it rebooted every now and then.

My iPhone 4 has turned off, which seems to be a common problem. Everything I can find says to hold the power/lock screen button + the home button together, along with a combination of plugging it into the computer/ wall, etc. Unfortunately my power button stopped working ages ago (another common problem it seems), so that method of restarting my phone is out. Aside from the power button issue the phone is in pristine condition, the LCI's are normal, no scratches or cracks. I tried this and it didn't work, probably because my washer was a was too big, i filed it down a bit, still didn't work, so I just put it back together, i noticed a few things:After Reassembly, this happened: power button still does not work, and doesn't "click"iPhone camera app shutter does not open and the bottom right "camera/video" icons just flicker, I've concluded this is because of the front camera not working.the ear speaker for phone calls is now "crackly".I noticed my WiFi and network signal isn't as strong, maybe a bar less on WiFi and a bar or 2 less on network.
Temporary solutions:A walk around camera fix is that i installed "camera plus pro" and this allows me to take photos and video. If I switch to the front camera it freezes, again confirming the front camera is not working.What should I do next?So I obviously did something when i took my phone apart and put it back together. It has been acting up the past few days, randomly turning itself off, and I am trying to get it to turn back on. Randomly it will turn back on when I push the power button, but is unresponsive when doing all the reset combos. Today it turned itself off while sitting on the table at home. On my Lumia 950, it will reset when I hold down the power button for 10 seconds but this should only happen when holding down both the volume down button and the power button at the same time. My Lumia 920, which is also running build 10.0.10586.29, can have just the power button held down and once I swipe away the power off prompt, it works normally and stays on just like I want.I would like to use my Qi enabled car mount but it needs to push down on the power button, causing it to constantly restart.
