Is there a way of changing the screen-off option for specific apps on SG2 Android - i.e. I start an app and don't want screen to go off until I close the app.
View 3 RepliesI've had this problem for a while and now I'm getting work I don't want to miss my phone because I've put it on dead mode. Before I factory reset my phone, I was able to change my volume using the side buttons to go from different levels of sound, then vibrate only, then dead mode (complete silent and no vibrations). Now I only have different levels of sound and dead mode. I read about changing an option in sounds to vibrate only in silent mode, which will fix this but I can't find that either (my suspicians are that this option was taken out in ICS or moved to a secret location to foil my plans).

View 5 Replies View RelatedI notice a new type of storage is introduced called USB Storage. I expect this is the equivalent of the internal SD card of the old SGS. Now when I click on the "Move to SD" button on any of the apps, I get the message "Failed to move application: Not enough memory"
My USB storage currently has 11.42GB. So can onyone shed light as to where I am going wrong here?
And what is the logic of Samsung changing internal SD storage into USB Storage?
When I want to manually set the screen brightness (or change the "mode", called "sk�rmtilstand" in Danish), changes have no effect. The brightness bar is greyed out. Also, I have noticed that turning of "system battery saving" (the first of the two options offered under energy saving in the settings) changes have no effect.
I am running the SII with ICS.
How do I change the style of the lock screen from swiping the the picture to maybe something else, is it possible?

my application (A.S.W.) on the android market has gotten several recent comments that it does not work on the Samsung Galaxy S2. I have been looking for an error in the application, have created an AVD using the S2 spec, but cannot recreate the error. Google Statistics tell me that there are 40+ users with the S2, however, I have gotten no crash/freeze reports from those users. At this point I am stuck and looking for some help to continue troubleshooting the problem, so I have come to this forum in hope of getting some detailed feedback on my applications performance on the S2. However, I don't actually receive any phone call, just a missed call in my call log, with a weird symbol (attached). I can't find this symbol in the user-manual, or via a Google search.I'm on O2, and the caller has a HTC Desire (Froyo) on Vodafone.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been trying to figure out if it's possible to bypass the initial splash screen (sorry I don't know what it's called) that needs to be swiped out of the way in order to go to the home screen. I'd prefer to go straight to the apps screen when the phone wakes up if possible. Then the problem I have with the Home and Apps screens is if I have the phone on a stand and using a BT Mouse and KB, those screens do not auto rotate into Landscape mode, so the mouse pointer is not usable unless you prop the phone up in Portrait mode. Is there any way to make those screens auto rotate as well?

A corporete policy gets pushed to my phone and I need to accept it. OK, no problem ... I accept it, but the Lock screen settings ( under Settings -> Location And Security -> Change Lock Screen ) only allows the "Password" option, saying the other options,e.g. the PIN way is remotely disabled by administrator, although that is NOT the case. I've double checked with our system admins on this.Our system admins are NOT forcing the "Password" option ... they're OK with just using the PIN, and I had it like that, in the old 2.3.3 version !For this setup ... this will display the long PASSWORD for lock-screen, instead of just a PIN which is what I prefer to to use instead:

View 9 Replies View RelatedI just purchase my sg2 phone yesterday. Unfortunately, my brother has used my phone last night and register the Samsung account in it by using his email or id. When I tried to change the account, it cannot be done cause I have to do the factory reset in privacy setting (which will erase all my personal info and downloaded applications). I don't want that to happen as well. Plus, my my brother can't even remember what the password he has used for the Samsung account I'm very pissed off now that my Samsung account belong to him and the fact that I can't do the factory reset because of him. I'll mention again, he forgot the password he used for MY SAMSUNG ACCOUNT IN MY SG2.

I have been using the samsung calendar for a while now, and HAD a default set up with my desktop Google calendar for 3 different reminders on each so I dont forget,oversleep etc. anyhow It seems that when Google calendar STOPPED sending SMS messages earlier idk this month or last month I have NOT been able to set up more than ONE reminder even from a appt set from my phone, after the first reminder is set the green plus sing is no longer there to add more. I CAN go into older appt's and edit and the multiple reminders are still there and the green plus to add more is there and selectible. I am assuming it has something to do with the google calendar so what is up?

How do i get the phone to offer both options again also why have i got to be signed in to g mail on the pc for the phone to accept the password?
I set the homescreen on my S2 but every time I press the square button the option returns and I cant find a way of deactivating it. I kill the app but this does not resolve the issue and neither does wiping the phone and starting again.
