View 1 RepliesSamsung has changed the settings in Galaxy S2 so it is no more possible to simply say: [Settings] > [Call settings] > [All calls] > [Show my number] > [Hide] This option does no longer exist that simple. Has anyone found out where Samsung has hidden this functionality so I can choose to hide my phone number. ?
I wonder why Samsung has chosen to make that so complicated
I want to hide few icons from the phone/homepage/menu coz, I dun want others to use that app.Is there any app available on the market?i tried with hide it Pro but not proper for hiding the apps.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI finally received the docking station, keyboard, etc.. but when docking my only options are Photo gallery, Music, and Mirror -- no Webtop.If I manually launch the Webtop Connector application, I simply get two tabs: "Webtop Sessions" and "Webtop Bookmarks" -- and the Sessions tab says, "No webtop web pages to resume; an a link to "Learn more about Motorola webtop." -- which is just a video that trys to tell me what great capability I'll have once it actually works.When I check the running services and applications (under Manage Applications), there is a Webtop service, but it shows 0.00B - presuming that it means it is not running or taking up space; and a Webtop Connector application showing 28.00KB.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I click mode only a few options come up.. selfie.wide selfie.interval shot.virtual shot and download. For those of you who say click download. I have already tried there is no slow motion option there either. I have seen other people's s6's when they click mode the slow motion option is there from the start. I'm worried.The slow motion option was one of the main reasons I got the phone .

I have been using the samsung calendar for a while now, and HAD a default set up with my desktop Google calendar for 3 different reminders on each so I dont forget,oversleep etc. anyhow It seems that when Google calendar STOPPED sending SMS messages earlier idk this month or last month I have NOT been able to set up more than ONE reminder even from a appt set from my phone, after the first reminder is set the green plus sing is no longer there to add more. I CAN go into older appt's and edit and the multiple reminders are still there and the green plus to add more is there and selectible. I am assuming it has something to do with the google calendar so what is up?
View 1 Replies View Relatedhave the pattern code set and it used to just time out if i forgot the code or got it wrong but i had to do a factory reset the other day and now it asks for theG mail password instead of timing out.
How do i get the phone to offer both options again also why have i got to be signed in to g mail on the pc for the phone to accept the password?
I set the homescreen on my S2 but every time I press the square button the option returns and I cant find a way of deactivating it. I kill the app but this does not resolve the issue and neither does wiping the phone and starting again.

View 2 Replies View Relatedi have a problem with my Samsung galaxy S2 nowadays with following detail: i can't use any application via wifi but can use all by packet data. FYI, my connection to wifi is fully correct and is in coverage area and normally signal strength is excellent, it mean i don't have any problem to connect to wifi in all places same as home, office or any other places. but i'm wonder that why i can't use any, yes any application even simple factory pre-installed applications same as google search when wifi is active but if i turn off my wifi and using packet data, all, yes all of applications working properly. FYI, my all applications worked properly before this problem raised (i'm not sure but seems my problme appeared when i backed from china trip which i changed my SIM card in china with a Chinese SIM card) so, i believe there is some mistake in setting which maybe occurred

As a novice SG S2 owner I would be grateful for the opinions of more experienced SG S2 users as to what the battery life should be for someone who's a low user of the phone and its applications?
For example how long should a full battery charge last for someone who makes very few calls and receives very few calls per day sends less than 10 texts per day and receives less than 10 texts per day, plays no games and surfs the internet very infrequently and plays music very infrequently? In other words the phone spends more time on standby than it does in actual operation.
Is there a way of changing the screen-off option for specific apps on SG2 Android - i.e. I start an app and don't want screen to go off until I close the app.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI was experiencing slowdowns on applicationss accessing the SD card for storage and caching. Among them are browsers like Dolphin, applications like Twidroyd, and news applications like Huffington Post. It helped with some of the applications by setting their storage options to internal memory, but the best solution so far, without rooting your phone and adding some MODACO mod, is to go to Settings, go to Managing Applications, go to Running Services, look for something that mentions DRM, then kill it.
Killing this does not harm the system, as I tested this already, and it speeds up access to applications that cache on the internal SD card. Of course, another way is to disable all SD access, and everything flies. But I find killing DRM services works well. DRM services is not part of the standard Android set, since I don't find this on the HTC phones, so killing it won't harm anything. Killing off Samsung's own slow ware such as Daily Briefings and the social Feeds widget may also help speed up the UI further, but on the other hand, these widgets can also be useful for some people.
I am trying to connect my Samsung Galaxy S2 to my computer and keep getting that message.
I go to the task manager and there are no applications running.
I've had this problem for a while and now I'm getting work I don't want to miss my phone because I've put it on dead mode. Before I factory reset my phone, I was able to change my volume using the side buttons to go from different levels of sound, then vibrate only, then dead mode (complete silent and no vibrations). Now I only have different levels of sound and dead mode. I read about changing an option in sounds to vibrate only in silent mode, which will fix this but I can't find that either (my suspicians are that this option was taken out in ICS or moved to a secret location to foil my plans).

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a SGS2 that is one year old, I still use gingerbred 2.3.3, and I haven't attempted anything special prior to getting the problem. I first noticed I had a problem when I booted my phone yesterday: booting took much more time than it use too, but then it worked. After entering my password, I got access to the usual page, but then, pop-ups appeared one after the other saying: "Sorry, need to close the application "name it". Thanks for trying again" (don't know what's the precise wording in english because mine is in an other language... still, you get the picture). The phone still works for calling, SMS and a bunch of apps... but applications like facebook, twitter, lookout, dropbox and a few games won't boot anymore.
Other things I noticed:
- I lost a few apps (at least 2) that disappeared completely from the phone
- I can't erase the cache when accessing settings/storage. Also, it won't recognize the SD Card space availability in the storage section. However, when looking at it by accessing settings/applications/memory usage, I can see what are the apps on my SD card.
- There is no correlation between the apps that have problems and the ones found on the internal SD memory card.
- Over the past month, my phone would sometime reboot after being closed. Didn't happen frequently, but I read this could be linked to the USB port? Anyway, just saying it here while I'm typing something.
- Finally, I have the feeling the OS version is not the one i had previously (downgraded?) because several apps asked to be updated after rebooting the phone a few times. Just I feeling because if i changed the OS for an upgrade, it was over 10 months ago.
So that's it. I already tried booting with the three buttons trick to erase the cache in basic mode: didn't changed a thing.
I notice a new type of storage is introduced called USB Storage. I expect this is the equivalent of the internal SD card of the old SGS. Now when I click on the "Move to SD" button on any of the apps, I get the message "Failed to move application: Not enough memory"
My USB storage currently has 11.42GB. So can onyone shed light as to where I am going wrong here?
And what is the logic of Samsung changing internal SD storage into USB Storage?
I'm having a problem with the new Android, 2.3.4 while using ActiveSync to connect to my corporete email on Exchange Server ... A corporete policy gets pushed to my phone and I need to accept it. OK, no problem ... I accept it, but the Lock screen settings ( under Settings -> Location And Security -> Change Lock Screen ) only allows the "Password" option, saying the other options,e.g. the PIN way is remotely disabled by administrator, although that is NOT the case. I've double checked with our system admins on this.Our system admins are NOT forcing the "Password" option ... they're OK with just using the PIN, and I had it like that, in the old 2.3.3 version !For this setup ... this will display the long PASSWORD for lock-screen, instead of just a PIN which is what I prefer to to use instead:
* Android 2.3.4
* gingerbread.xwki4 on Samsung Galaxy S2
* Exchange 2007 sp3
This policy is NOT forced by our admins, since this is the policy:Here are my complete Password tab settings on the server, so you can see the admins are NOT requesting this long password ( PIN is enough! ):
Require Password - checked Require alphanumeric password - unchecked <--- attention, this is UNCHECKED.
Enable password recovery - checked
Require encryption on the device - checked
[code].....
But with this update, you need the following for the unlock screen of ActiveSync for Exchange Server:6 letters, and one number in the previous version ( 2.3.4 ) you needed 6 letters, TWO numbers and one sign I want to be able to use ONLY 4 letters PIN, as it is allowed on our network, as you can see in our policy just pasted above in this thread!
I got a Galaxy S6 Edge a couple of weeks ago. Everything was as it should be until a few days ago. The phone icon went missing and it's not listed with in the apps area/drawer. However, when I check under Application Manager, its shows three phone applications which seem to be dupes. They can't be uninstalled or disabled. I've done force close and restarted the phone but no luck. I'm using Nova Launcher. I just got the the phone set-up the way I wanted so the the thought of a factory reset makes me queasy.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have tried everything to try and resolve my issues but have not been able to do so.
First, I accidently hid a picture by checking the 'hide' field. Now how do you get it back?! I've had a couple of my friends with the same phone try and figure it out and they havent been able to.Secondly, when I choose a picture to be my wallpaper, it shows in a zoomed in version of the top left corner of the picture. I do recall when I was choosing the picture to set as my wallpaper, that I zoomed in on it before setting it, but used the 'back' key to remove the zoom feature. It appeared ok on the screen but set the wallpaper as the zoomed in picture. Now it doesn't matter which picture I choose, I get on the top left side, zoomed in showing up on my wallpaper. - even though it appears normal before setting it.
Is there not a single option to close all applications (other than the 3 or 4 compulsory apps of course). I find one has to open each one and then select to close it. A menu option that allows one to close all open apps would be great.
View 4 Replies View RelatedOn my previous phones (S5 and S4) I was able to hide the stock apps ( Like the File Explorer) from the drawer without going into private mode. I cannot seem to do that on my S6. Is there something I'm missing? I only want to hide the apps, not disable or uninstall them.
