Samsung Galaxy S II :: Hide Any Installed Apps From Home Page?
Sep 7, 2012
I want to hide few icons from the phone/homepage/menu coz, I dun want others to use that app.Is there any app available on the market?i tried with hide it Pro but not proper for hiding the apps.
i've had my S2 for about a month now and have noticed over the last week , how slow it is to return to the home page. This is returning from anything whether that be from an application or messaging or just going into the settings. I've timed it today and it takes 7 seconds to return. It doesnt matter whether i use the home button or use the back button , it still takes ages. When moving between other screens, the phone is its normal fast speed its just when it returns back to the home page.
When I tap my home button on my Galaxy S2 it goes to my 4th page. How do I change that to another page like page 1.? I have tried removing pages, also moving around pages and even removing and going down to 1 page then adding more of my apps back yet it always goes to the last page...
My Droid came with lots of pre-installed applications I don't want or need. Apparently I can't uninstall them, but I've heard I can hide them. Verizon tech support was unable to help me do that. How do I hide applications I don't want cluttering up my applications screens?
My apps occasionall disappear from main home pages as well as from folders placed on home page but yet they are all still loaded on phone.Has happened numerous times for same apps and most apps are stored on SD card.Running latest gingerbread version 2.3.3. This has happened before on version 2.2.
Is there a way to find out what apps were recently deleted ?Reason I ask is 2 apps are missing form my 1 of my home screen and have no idea what apps that are missing.
How do you add a page on your iphone without any apps so you can just see the background picture. every time i try my itunes just deletes the empty page.
I just got a new blackberry tour and I'm having a heck of a time moving new apps that I downloaded to my homepage. I downloaded three apps and was able to move them to the homepage with no problem by clicking the blackberry button and selecting "move to home". That is very clear and I understand the concept.
But for some reason I can't move any other apps. I can't move my facebook app because there is no option to "move to homepage" or "move". Pandora and all of these apps are located in My world in the Black Berry app world. Can anyone help me? maybe I'm missing something simple.
Checking out media players, I downloaded Zimly and Mixzing to compare. Both installed instantly but only Zimly appeared as an icon on the home screen. When I go to Settings>Applications>Manage applications they are both listed as installed, however I need to have Mixing drop its icon for me to be able to use it ... from reviews etc I actually think that's the one I'll be keeping anyway, a clear case of sod's Law that of the two that one would be the one with a problem!I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice, same result.
Samsung has changed the settings in Galaxy S2 so it is no more possible to simply say: [Settings] > [Call settings] > [All calls] > [Show my number] > [Hide] This option does no longer exist that simple. Has anyone found out where Samsung has hidden this functionality so I can choose to hide my phone number. ?
I wonder why Samsung has chosen to make that so complicated
On my previous phones (S5 and S4) I was able to hide the stock apps ( Like the File Explorer) from the drawer without going into private mode. I cannot seem to do that on my S6. Is there something I'm missing? I only want to hide the apps, not disable or uninstall them.
I was using my phone earlier, everything was fine. I looked at it later, all my folders and icons are gone from my home page. The only thing on the page are the four things on the bottom. Phone, Chrome, Contacts and apps. I can get to everything from the app drawer, should be a simple matter to repopulate my home page. I've restarted my phone several times. I've both just restarted, and shut down, then restarted. All of my history seems to still be in the apps, I.e my email accts are signed in, my s-health history is there. The only thing that's changed are the icons have vanished from my home page. Phone is bone stock
When I press microphone to do google search on home page--sometimes 10 second delay.
On S6 I notice whether at home with wifi or out with only cell data, that when I press the mic icon to do a google voice search I will see a white screen for up to 10+ seconds until the word "Listening" pops up.
It is as if it cannot connect to the service to perform the voice search immediately. Once it does connect, I can perform a web voice search with absolutely no delay...
Under running apps, Google App is of course running. I did disable these apps but not sure any would make a difference-except perhaps Cloud???
Note: I am not syncing Gmail or using a Google Email account for contacts, email, etc..

Seems Touch-Wiz on 4.4.2 has taken away this feature. On my Samsung Galaxy S4 Active I could use Any Cut to create a short cut, and while Any Cut still has limited functionality on 4.4.2 it no longer shows Playlists. Just trying to create a shortcut to a playlist, so I do not have to navigate through multiple screens to start the playlist I want to play.
On top of my home screen is the Samsung default song "over the horizon" it's a new phone and I'm wanting to remove this from home page as it takes up a third of the page.
The clock and weather widget disappeared from the home screen. I tried downloading another one from the playstore, but it won't appear on the homescreen. The icon for it is there, but not the actual clock and weather. How can I get back the original, installed widget?
My phone was restarted at best buy. finished downloads but google bar ( to ask questions) isn't on my home page how do I get it back? or reinstalled. it's an s6 phone.
This is an AT&T phone and I have google set as my homepage but it keeps opening in Yahoo and I have to move the screen down to get the home button to appear. I would like it to open directly into google everytime.
I received my Vibrant on last week. I've installed less than 10 apps.Which is not heavy,(emails, weather, three games.) After this, all of the reponse has been slow.Especially, when the phone is screen locked, and I try to use the phone I press unlock button on the side. Screen come up slower than the first time. And also, when I talking on the phone through the ear, and I try to hang up(the phone is getting away from the ear, it supposed to show the menus, like add call, dial pad, end call.)This screen comes up little slow now.I went on to check the apps running and nother were really heavy software running. Should I try to reset the factory reset? Any recommendation? I know, this is not a major problem.(maybe I should not say these are the problem) but it was fast response but, why it does response little slow?
I have a new Tour Blackberry 9630. Is there a way to have Web page bookmark shortcuts on the Home page? I have tried several copies, moves etc and can not seem to make it work. Want to be able to click on a bookmark and have it open Internet and go to that page.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and I really want the Status Bar to completely disappear from all my apps. I achieved it to disappear on my home screen with Nova Launcher, but not my apps. My phone is not rooted, but I will root it if I have to. I just want to have a clean swipe down of the notification bar without the status bar displaying.
I've set my location service for "high Accuracy" and still have to manually reset the location (and, often, force a reset) when I go from one place to another. This is silly and downright annoying. What else can be done?
For reasons unknown, after shutting off my phone (I suppose it was a forced shutoff, since the webpage I was viewing had frozen), my Galaxy SII now refuses to go past the splash page/start-up screen, that says "SAMSUNG GALAXY SII". The text will display for about 5 seconds, then the screen will go black for about five seconds, then it will redisplay the text for five seconds, in a never-ending loop.
The phone will charge, and if I turn it off then plug it in I get the standard picture of a charging battery. If I plug the phone in my laptop, the laptop does not recognize that it is plugged in, though the phone does charge.
I've tried getting access to the recovery menu, but I can't seem to get to it - once I push the power button, it enters the splash page loop. The only thing that will end the loop is removing the battery.
I have no idea what I've done to force it into this loop, but it's extremely inconvenient.
I recenetly just bought the Galaxy S5 and its working great. But for some reason when I try to add the twitter widget to the home screen or any of the screens I get the message "application not installed." This is only happening with twitter. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing the app but same message. I did a factory reset as well but no luck. The application itself works if I go through the app itself.
It does it intermittently, and I suspect it's because the whole phone is lagging - too many little background things running I suppose.
Assuming it's the lag problem (making a single press lag so long it seems like a long press), what are some strategies for clearing out less necessary tasks the phone is doing?
Don't know what's happen. Phone isn't rooted. Normally when I flip my home screen and I want to go back to my first home screen I press the homescreen button. But now it doesn't do anything?
