I've set my location service for "high Accuracy" and still have to manually reset the location (and, often, force a reset) when I go from one place to another. This is silly and downright annoying. What else can be done?
View 1 RepliesThe clock and weather widget disappeared from the home screen. I tried downloading another one from the playstore, but it won't appear on the homescreen. The icon for it is there, but not the actual clock and weather. How can I get back the original, installed widget?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am not sure,but I think that before rooting and unrooting my Samsung Galaxy S5 Duos and installing a new firmware,with the power saving mode turned on,I could check for a weather information update without turning the location service manually on.
I suppose that the weather information service turned on the location service only for checking for weather information update automatically and then turned it off automatically again. And when I have pressed the weather update refresh button, it updated the weather information very fast. I would also like to add that the weather information,has been updating with no difference if the phone has been connected to a wi-fi network or 3G.
Is there a way I can get back that way of updating the weather information? That was only with the power saving mode turned on!
Mine shows the wrong location. How do I change it?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI found a peculiar issue. I found that the weather widget would not update even if I set the refresh interval at an hour or did a manual update. I played with the 3 location settings (high accuracy, power savings, and GPS only) that are new with Kit Kat. I found that none of them worked unless I had my wifi enabled. It did not have to be connected, just enabled. As soon as I enabled wifi it would refresh with no issues.
I disable my wifi when away from my house to save battery, it looks like I won't be able to do this anymore if I want location services to work correctly. I also found that this was impacting my llama application (location specific phone settings).
How do I get the weather widget box (the one that shows the next 3 days) to stay on the location I want, I can touch it and then select perth but it always defaults to Sydney when on the home screen

However, when I access the app and manually refresh the weather is displayed and remains when I return to the home screen. Is this an issue without Android 2.2 or is the handset at fault? The same app works perfectly on my Hero running on android 2.1

Have tried all the different location settings (high accuracy, power saving, and GPS only) but doesn't resolve the problem.
Since the widget won't appear on home screen, the settings can't be accessed to check if there's anything odd there.

I have tried pressing and holding the screen and looked through the widgets, and yes I found the AccuWeather.com widget, but when I drag it back onto my phone home screen. I get all weather for the next five days on my home screen as well, instead of just the current weather with the temperature etc.

The only thing on the page are the four things on the bottom. Phone, Chrome, Contacts and apps. I can get to everything from the app drawer, should be a simple matter to repopulate my home page. I've restarted my phone several times. I've both just restarted, and shut down, then restarted. All of my history seems to still be in the apps, I.e my email accts are signed in, my s-health history is there. The only thing that's changed are the icons have vanished from my home page. On S6 I notice whether at home with wifi or out with only cell data, that when I press the mic icon to do a google voice search I will see a white screen for up to 10+ seconds until the word "Listening" pops up.
It is as if it cannot connect to the service to perform the voice search immediately. Once it does connect, I can perform a web voice search with absolutely no delay...
Under running apps, Google App is of course running. I did disable these apps but not sure any would make a difference-except perhaps Cloud???

Seems Touch-Wiz on 4.4.2 has taken away this feature. On my Samsung Galaxy S4 Active I could use Any Cut to create a short cut, and while Any Cut still has limited functionality on 4.4.2 it no longer shows Playlists. Just trying to create a shortcut to a playlist, so I do not have to navigate through multiple screens to start the playlist I want to play.

View 3 Replies View Relatedi've had my S2 for about a month now and have noticed over the last week , how slow it is to return to the home page. This is returning from anything whether that be from an application or messaging or just going into the settings. I've timed it today and it takes 7 seconds to return. It doesnt matter whether i use the home button or use the back button , it still takes ages. When moving between other screens, the phone is its normal fast speed its just when it returns back to the home page.

The clock still keeps time, but the weather icon on the right hand side does not show the current weather, will not update, nor will it allow me to touch the widget and enter into the settings/different cities. It was working fine up until about a week ago. I've tried restarting my phone and removing/re-positioning the widget, but no luck. It can't be uninstalled as it came with OS.

I got a problem with my Z2 gps system. A few app's say that my GPs is turned off when its not and the weather widget can't find my location, and whem i'm lucky it does but gets it completly wrong, usealy about 15km in the wrong direction. Strangely a lot of GPS requierd app's work fine. Rebooting the phone hasn't worked and re-instal the non working app's neither. At first i thought the problems where in the app's but I find it hard to belive that that many app's have the same problem and also the weather widget that was factory installed doesn't work properly.

So if I was at home, my weather widget would show info for my current location. If I was at work, I received the weather info for the current location, all without the need to have my location set to on. All this was accomplished through Verizon's network. Now with my LG G3, I can only have updated weather if I manually do it or if I turn the location setting on.
