May 30, 2014I got a problem with my Z2 gps system. A few app's say that my GPs is turned off when its not and the weather widget can't find my location, and whem i'm lucky it does but gets it completly wrong, usealy about 15km in the wrong direction. Strangely a lot of GPS requierd app's work fine. Rebooting the phone hasn't worked and re-instal the non working app's neither. At first i thought the problems where in the app's but I find it hard to belive that that many app's have the same problem and also the weather widget that was factory installed doesn't work properly.

Apr 8, 2015I came from the HTC One (M7) where the weather/time widget would update without the "location" being on. It updated with the network. So if I was at home, my weather widget would show info for my current location. If I was at work, I received the weather info for the current location, all without the need to have my location set to on. All this was accomplished through Verizon's network. Now with my LG G3, I can only have updated weather if I manually do it or if I turn the location setting on.

Feb 14, 2012I installed maps 3.0.8 a while ago and was working fine. I used weather widget frequently. Was in the USA last week, Belle came out for my N8 and I upgraded. Used weather widget there, and it showed me USA local weather for Wayne, near Philadelphia.I am home now in Novi Sad and weather widget still shows "Weather for Wayne'' and the temperatures and forecast are for Novi Sad. I tried to go put get GPS lock on Novi Sad in Drive. No change. I can not remove ''Wayne'' in any way I tried. I am having correct forecast and current temperature but I can not remove name of the location.

Apr 18, 2014I found a peculiar issue. I found that the weather widget would not update even if I set the refresh interval at an hour or did a manual update. I played with the 3 location settings (high accuracy, power savings, and GPS only) that are new with Kit Kat. I found that none of them worked unless I had my wifi enabled. It did not have to be connected, just enabled. As soon as I enabled wifi it would refresh with no issues.
I disable my wifi when away from my house to save battery, it looks like I won't be able to do this anymore if I want location services to work correctly. I also found that this was impacting my llama application (location specific phone settings).

Before i left for work the location on the weather widget is "Kampong San Teng"
When i reach office and after 2 hours the location is still "Kampong San Teng" only when i manually go to weather widget and tap on use my location then it will change to "Buona Vista".

Jan 3, 2016I am not sure,but I think that before rooting and unrooting my Samsung Galaxy S5 Duos and installing a new firmware,with the power saving mode turned on,I could check for a weather information update without turning the location service manually on.
I suppose that the weather information service turned on the location service only for checking for weather information update automatically and then turned it off automatically again. And when I have pressed the weather update refresh button, it updated the weather information very fast. I would also like to add that the weather information,has been updating with no difference if the phone has been connected to a wi-fi network or 3G.
Is there a way I can get back that way of updating the weather information? That was only with the power saving mode turned on!

The clock still keeps time, but the weather icon on the right hand side does not show the current weather, will not update, nor will it allow me to touch the widget and enter into the settings/different cities. I had around 10 cities selected. My wife had some other number. In any case I noticed one day that I only had 3 cities. Long story short I ran some tests and using either phone adding/deleting cities on one phone causes a sync to the other phone.
