Why is the option to move some apps grayed out? I had a launcher installed that would ask me if I wanted to move apps, but I deleted it. Now I can't move anything because the option just isn't there. Galaxy S5, lollipop ....

View 4 Replies View RelatedI Have a new Galaxy S5 (with lollipop 5.0), coming from a S3 (with 4.3).
The "problem" I have is that in the Galaxy S5, in lots of Apps that are selected to be moved to SD Card, only a very small amount of the App really goes to the SD Card, while on the Glaxy S3 it moved the whole App (most of it anyway).
I post an example (language is Portuguese) with the game Shadowrun in both the S3 and S5. It happens with several other games.
Is the problem related to the lollipop (apps not updated yet)? Is it Sd card related (I just moved it from my S3 without reformatting the card)?
Why there are app can't be moved from device storage to sd card? Is there a way to force move them?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a Galaxy S5 from Cricket/AIO wireless. It just recently updated to Lolly from KK. I want to move larger apps and such to the SD card as I have a 128GB in there. But whenever I try to move a file/app, it becomes unstable or doesn't work. In its place on the menu, is a blank/ghost space and says "app is not installed". In the app manager it is usually listed as "xyz app.samsung.com" or such. I am still making payments to it so I cant fully root it or jailbreak it but I cant load the apps I want/need. Or is there a way to load larger apps directly to the SD?
Also as a secondary problem, moving pctures from internal to SD, I get a ghost image in Gallery and cant access the picture. Did it delete? Can I get it back somehow? Do I need a forensics kit on my computer?
I have a Sprint S5 running stock Lollipop. I have moved any apps that can be to the SD card. Anytime those apps are updated, they move back to the device storage. I got this phone shortly before Sprint pushed the Lollipop update so I cannot say for sure if I was having this issue prior to Lollipop.

View 1 Replies View RelatedYesterday I made a light mistake. Because I bought a bigger sd card for my D6603. During the copy and installation of the new SD card in my phone, I used the "move to SD card" function. Several apps were transferred which was fine. Without thinking I reinstalled the SD card a second time. After this I realized my mistake. 14 apps were missing in my launcher. Most apps I could reinstall on the phone and then move to SD card to recover them. But only on app is missing. I dont know yet if it is a default app from 5.1.1. installation or a downloaded one.
1.) Do you have a picture of side 1 to 3 of an fresh installed D6603 with 5.1.1? So I can compare the installed apps.
2.) How can I found out the name of the missing app in a not rooted 5.1.1.?
does anyone know how to specify an app be downloaded, stored, or moved to the SD card, without using a 3rd party app? I just started using the droidx2, I bought a nice class 10 micro sd card, and all I can store on it are photos/videos/notes. im waiting for the tech manual from Motorola to arrive.

It's definitely outgrowing my 32GB one, so I have my sights on a 64GB (or maybe even a 128GB). I don't mind having to re-add my music to the new microSD. The major question here is: Can I move my apps (and data) from one microSD to another microSD smoothly and successfully?
I'd really don't want to have to re-download ALL of my apps onto the new microSD card. Downloading my apps to my phone's memory is not an option; the phone doesn't have enough free memory to accommodate my app catalog. I already know how I will do it...it's only a matter of if it can be done.
How do I move folders containing apps to the sd card. I keep losing the folder names when the phone is turned off and then on again.

The app icons disappear from the app menu and if I have a widget on my homescreen I get a message saying the app isn't installed. When I go into the manage app setting, I can see the apps but their icons don't show. I've had to uninstall them and then reinstall them to get them to work. I guess for now, I won't be moving apps to the sd card, but I'm trying to keep my internal memory free.

Whenever I shut down and turn my phone back on, the apps within the applications have all moved around and forgotten their positions? The apps on the home screen are unaffected.
Im trying to sync my phone with outlook 2003 but the sync calender option is greyed out.
i checked the settings and i got sync with outlook selected.i also keep getting errors when trying to sync my contactsi didnt write down the error code but ill try again tomorrow and write it down.

I just got brand new white bold 9700 yesterday from Rogers Wireless and tried to setup WiFi at home. I have BIS data plan and my laptop can use wireless connection without any problems. The phone did found my modem and I put WEP password correctly but it shows white dash and the WiFi icon on screen shows gray. I've been talking with Rogers technical support guys 3 times:
First time they asked me to turn off the phone, take out battery and put it back, delete profile and reset, it failed
Second time: turn off my modem and reboot it, it didn't work neither
Third time: they asked me to download desktop manager and handheld code file to reinstall OS. But I found that the link they gave me is desktop manager 4.6 which is older than mine (the CD comes with the phone is desktop 5.0.1). I have my laptop (Windows vista x64) installed desktop manager 5.0.1 via CD, and I downloaded the 4.6 version and installed it on my desktop pc (windows XP ). But I hesitate to connect my cell to either of them to continue. I don't want to mess up my cell OS. To me it doesn't make sense for me to reinstall OS and even down version from 5.0 to 4.6.
Right now I use my BIS data plan to do everything(check email, BBM so far). I've searched other posts and tried other things like run diagnoses tests, turn mobile network off and WiFi off, back on, delete WiFi profile, rescan put it back, take out battery. None of those worked. Still the icon of WiFi on screen is gray.
Trying to turn wifi on and the option is greyed out....why would it be doing this?

I had hoped that the latest update would solve the greyed out Contacts synch option. No such luck! I have not been able to synch contacts for the past 3 months. And you wonder why Blackberry stock continues to fall? This will probably be my last Blackberry if something doesn't change soon!

I try to turn on iMessage, and it only works with my two emails. i use the emails for my iPads iMessage, and i do not want the same send/receive for my iPhone and iPad. i want to use my number for iMessage on my phone, but when i try to tap the number as a send/receive option, its grayed out and not an option. i have the latest software and everything, but it just wont activate.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI would like to do a factory reset on my Galaxy s5. While attempting to back-up files on my SD card I realized...I don't have an SD card. The problem with this is that my device shows many apps installed on the SD card (Settings->Device->Applications->Application manager shows apps on SD card).
There is nothing in the microSD card slot above the SIM card slot on the back of my phone. Is there another location for an SD card that I am not aware of and not seeing? If not, how is my phone reading that there are apps stored on the SD card when there is no SD card?
Is there a way of changing the screen-off option for specific apps on SG2 Android - i.e. I start an app and don't want screen to go off until I close the app.
