IMessage Won't Activate After IPhone 5s Reset - Option Grayed Out
Jun 29, 2014
I have reset my iPhone 5S, and my iMessage wont activate. I have my cellular data on, my wifi is working, everything is fine. I try to turn on iMessage, and it only works with my two emails. i use the emails for my iPads iMessage, and i do not want the same send/receive for my iPhone and iPad. i want to use my number for iMessage on my phone, but when i try to tap the number as a send/receive option, its grayed out and not an option. i have the latest software and everything, but it just wont activate.
I've had a grey area over my wi fi button, and this stopped me from using wi fi, I couldn't turn it on or off it was frozen. so I looked it up on the internet and support and followed. I reset the network setting and it worked.... however its happened again and after resetting the network settings. I reset the full phone and erased everything. so I've done that. now i am stuck with an iPhone 4s that wont allow me to search for a wi fi connection to activate the phone. its suggesting i activate through cellular ( no internet on sim so cannot ) or I have to type in the name of the wi fi and security and password. tried to enter it and it freezes but still shows that its joining when it clearly isn't. my opinion is the full WiFi on the phone has malfunctioned and I cannot activate the device because of this.
Instead of the usual Wifi menu in the settings menu, it is replaced by Personal Hotspot which is also greyed out. It is on 5.0.1. It can connect to 3G perfectly fine however.
i went to send a imessage to a friend in scottland but the send icon did not turn ble for imessage, i tried it again with a US based person and same thing, upon going into my settings the imessage option was turned off, i went to turn it back on and i keep getting a "An error occurred during activation" my face time is fine and working well, is there anyhthing i can do or should i try and restore my phone and see if that helps(i dont need the hassle to restor if i dont need to)
I can't get Imessage to activate on my 3GS. After turning it on i get a SMS from optus saying im out of credit for that message type, and i have unlimited credit. how can i get it to activate and use my number not my email address?
It will work through my email but it will only send through my email. When I go to Recieve at it only gives me the option of adding an email account it does not let me recieve iMessages through my number. I don't know what to do, I've even reset my phone up as a new iphone and still nothing has worked.
I bought my iphone like a month and a half ago and I haven't been able to activate imessage or facetime. I have tried activating it with my apple id but it doesn't work, I tried doing it with wifi on airplane mode and nothing. I even restored it.
I got my iphone 4 in US, and now travel to another country, I can't use a new sim card in this country, so I just use my iphone without sim and just by using wifi.I want to use iMessage and facetime here, but there is a note, says "waiting for activation", how can I solve this problem? I have same issue with facetime.and one more thing, here my friend has iphone, I tried to send her an iMessage but I can't initiate texting, how can I add her to my list, I add her as a new contact, but I can't send her text or using facetime. Her iMessage is on.by the way I have to say, I can send iMessage to my friend in US.
I'm using my moms unlocked iPhone 3gs from AT&T, and i am currently using it on T-Mobile and i want to send my parents texts.Whcih they have no IOS device so when i send a text, it sends as imessage and not a text.So what can i do to activate imessage it's unsuccessful ?
I have an iphone 5s and i can not activate imessage nor facetime. I followed all the steps provided by the apple page and still i can not make it connect. The phone is connected to wifi at all times and has ios 8.
I have changed my apple ID password, and since then my imessage and facetime will not activate, it says: "Could not sign in. Please check your network and try again." My internet connection is fine, my username/new password have been entered correctly, my time/date are correct, I have the latest software installed, and I have turned it on and off again, yet the same problem keeps arising. Â
I upgraded my iOS to the 5.1 version and it was all going quite well. Yesterday, I thought my iMessage wasn't working correctly. So I deactivated it and turned it on once again. The message "Waiting for activation.." never goes away and it keeps verifying my phone number. I even got the msg that it wasn't possible to activate iMessage neither Facetime (I also turned it off).
i purchased the new iphone 4s black 16gb yesterday and i can make calls receive calls and receive text messages yet i cannot send any sms text messages to any of my friends and this is obviously concerning me. Why also when i send an imessage to my friend it comes up with my email and not my phone number i have checked this and i cannot change it to my number. Mainly i would just like facetime and imessage to be activated and to be able to send sms messages.
When i try to activate my iMessage or my Facetime it stays "Waiting for activation" for a long time or says cannot activate. I don't want to reset my phone so is there anyway through like my apple id account i can activate it on the computer or itunes?
I just got a new iphone 4s, Upgrade from my 3gs. Im on wifi , Texting works internet works, Everything is normal. When i go to activate my imessage and facetime , I type in my username and password like it says and then it just says error check internet connection. However, Im on my personal wifi which works 100% and even when i switch it off wifi it still says the same thing?
So I have an old iPhone 4 that no longer has cellular service. I just updated to the latest version of iOS, signed in with my Apple ID, and now want to activate iMessage on this device, but it says "waiting for activation". Is there a trick to get iMessage activated on this device?
