Nov 6, 2011regarding apps when they ask for permission to access your call, msg, etc on installion. I was wonder if it's safe to install such apps which want total control and also if there is a software to block them from access on your phone.

Mar 1, 2015I am trying to extend battery life and kill some native apps. One that shows as a big battery drain is Geo News but I can't find the app to uninstall it. When I go to the Play Store it only gives me the option to install it. This is on my Galaxy S5 which I've had since November and the last couple of weeks I've been going through the battery huge. Trying to follow all the advice here to delete and disable, but so far not terribly successful.

Went into my local VF shop and they said to check there has not been a never firmware update but Kies finds nothing. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I have read a lot about it, so I shut off iMessage on my mac and even disabled my number with iMessage on Apple's site. However, I am still not receiving some texts from iPhones. If they send a text just to me i get it fine (even though they may have to click send as a text message) but I won't be able to get it in a group text. It is frustrating because I can see some texts but not all of them. This has been happening for over a month now.

Oct 14, 2011When I open sent or received picture texts, they appear with a white circle and black triangle as if it were a 'play' button. If I click on the pictures, they open as if they were a video, 'playing' anywhere from 5 - 10 seconds with a play bar below. There's no problem opening or downloading the photos, but it's weird/annoying that pictures are opening this way.

Aug 14, 2011So basically I went away for 4 weeks, came back, switched on my phone and now BOOM it won't call anyone, it won't use 3G or anything or even make texts.
Here's some useful information:
- I'm picking up signal, and can receive texts etc.
- when I try and call someone, it says 'you cannot make outgoing calls while call barring is on' (even though I've checked in settings and it isn't).
- I'm on o2 in the UK
- I've checked my status, and it says 'Mobile Network State' is 'Disconnected'.
- It's running 2.3.3
- I've got the Network Mode on Auto (as it always was when the phone actually worked), and also I haven't been playing around with the APNs or anything like that.
- I bought the phone legit from Carphone warehouse a few months ago, and it worked mostly fine up until I switched it back on yesterday. I'd had a few problems with non-wifi internet before I left last month, but nothing affecting making calls etc.

May 15, 2011Just updated via Samsung Apps the camera firmware to a CDE11 or something version. Took 4 minutes to update and flash this firmware. I wonder what exactly it changed in the camera firmware? Hopefully improved things or bug fixes.I will test a few videos and see if the bitrate has changed or not.

Oct 22, 2012I recently installed a 32GB SD card to my Galaxy SII and moved most movable apps to it. However, now I need to copy some stuff from my PC to the 'internal' SD card and I can't connect to it.
I do the regular 'USB utilites -> Connect storage to PC' routine, but all I get on the PC is the external card.
How can I access the 'internal' SD card without physically removing the external one? BTW, I'm on official, non-rooted ICS 4.0.4.

For some reason i cannot connect to the mobile internet when the connection is showing 3g. It will only connect when it is showing H or H+.
Also for some strange reason, the internet connection wont work at all if i havent used it for a few hours. To get back internet you have to go to flight mode and back or switch off and on to get back online.

Dec 9, 2011I'm not sure if this is a problem with my SG2 or my SKY router but occasionally despite all my other WiFi items in the house all being able to access the internet, every now and then despite my SG2 showing a good strong WiFi signal I get no connection. To resolve the matter I have to unplug the router and restart it.

May 3, 2012Now this is driving me insane. In Swype or normal text mode, whenever I attempt to delete the last word the whole word appears to the right of the cursor and it is not possible to remove it. Once the original has been deleted and its unwanted replacement is present in its place, I then tap to the right of the replacement word and delete it, and it replaces itself again. This makes text and email intelligible.

Nov 16, 2011I got my galaxy s2 about a month ago, and it's not rooted When i go to delete SMS threads, the mesages are deleted but the 'shell' of the thread remains in the list of threads. This is whether I use the stock messaging app or GO SMS. I've also tried backing up my text messages, deleting them all, restarting the phone and then restoring the messages but it doesn't work. If I back up the messages and then delete them using SMS cleaner no messages are deleted (even after a phone restart) although SMS cleaner then says there are no messages to find when I try to repeat this step. The shell messages all have the date 1st Jan 1970. Is there a way to fix this without rooting my phone?

Nov 25, 2015Just purchased a new unlocked S6. I already had a Samsung account so went through the set up process on the phone and successfully set up the Samsung account on the phone using my Samsung account details. Able to go into Apps, Settings, Accounts, Samsung account and can see my email. The Samsung account syncs without problem and I can download apps through the Galaxy Apps site.
Now the issue, using the phone whilst in the Samsung account I select Profile so I can check my profile details but when I enter my password and select confirm, the phone shows a green & blue wheel with the words "In Progress" then the screen momentarily goes blank and then the same blue wheel with the words "In Progress" reappears and stays on the screen and that is as far as it goes. The phone is trying to open the Profile page but just continues showing the blue wheel with the words "In Progress".
I can log into my account through the account.samsung.com web site and enter the Profile through the website and I can use Find my mobile to connect to the phone and ring the phone so the phone is linked to the account. I have done a factory reset on the phone and the same issue remains. I have even set up a different Samsung account and the new account also has the same issue. I have cleared the cache and data on the phones Samsung account and tried to get into the Profile with the same issue. I asked a work colleague with a S6 to also log into his Profile via the phone and he had the same problem so it appears to be an issue with the Samsung app.

Jul 24, 2011Yesterday I came across a strange problem with my SGSII. I realized that I cant access my gallery if wifi is switched on.If I turn off wifi, it works again. Any idea why this is happening? Restarting the phone didnt change anything.At first I thought it might be from some app, so I uninstalled the last 5 apps I downloaded, but nothing changed I'm positive that it was working fine before.
