What is everyone elses boot up time? Mine is 7 minutes 10 seconds, from moto screen to lock screen
It went up a lot after the last update but seems even longer now, is there anything I can do about this, 7 minutes seems excessive to me.
My Nexus 6 has random restarts about once per day. The most frustrating thing about it is that it takes 1:45 minutes (105 seconds) to reboot. It's the same length of time when I turn the phone off and boot it by hand. Is this normal? Can a few of you do me a favor and measure how long it takes on theirs?

Mine seems to hang at night (seemingly about 20min after I plug it in for charging) and stays on yesterdays date and time until somehow it corrects itself the next day. There is no way to "activate it" or make it correct itself. All other clocks and calendars are correct.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI contacted technical support and they said that it was new and needed to charge overnight. So it charged overnight and it continued to shut down several times that day. It did it a few times on the morning of the 18th so I took it to the Sprint Store. They said it was a simple fix and that the SIM was causing the problem. They took the SIM out and restarted the phone and voila- right? WRONG, 10 minutes later I go to use the phone and it was off AGAIN. I took it right back to the store and they said that they forgot to do a factory reset without the SIM in the phone. So the did the reset. I refused to leave the parking lot until I knew it would not shut off. Like clockwork, within 15 minutes it was off again.
I demanded a swap and they gave me a different PHOTON. It was great for about 24 hours and today restarted by itself once and then a few minutes later just shut down again. I called Sprint and the rep actually told me to try putting a piece of folded paper between the battery and the back plate!!! I just paid a load for this phone and I shouldn't have to rig it with folded paper. What is the deal with these phones? Are they all like this or are there some that are actually functioning properly? Is there a specific lot number or part that causes it?
I mean its like clockwork, whenever I'm talking to someone at exactly 30 minutes of talking my photon just hangs up. Anyone else have this problem?

What I am refering to is, the device OS is working but I try to open apps and nothing is happening, I can hit the home key and the apps button and they work but opening any apps nothing will happen. Sometime the apps will partialy open but sit there.
What i noticed when this is happening is the device is syncing. I am assuming it is doing my facebook, picasa, you tube, and twitter sync. Somethimes it recovers and works and sometimes it has the sync symbol an hour later and I have to reboot the device.
Any way to pull all my pics and videos and files etc., from my photon 4G without having it on the home screen. The reason being because my phone will not boot up onto the main screen and I have to do a factory reset. I have been taking out the battery and starting it back up for 2 days now and it still wont come back on. I have tons of videos and pics and notes that I need off my phone before I hard reset it so I can use my phone again...

So i bought a motorola photon 4G from ebay 5 days ago and had it shipped here to New Zealand. I'm loving the phone but there are a few problems.
When i first switched on my phone (i got it today) it said contacting network, faor quite a while. I was patient and thought this was becuase it was the first time switching on this device. Then it said it couldn't activate the device (sprint). Fair point, because the network was not setup.
So after a while i was able to setup New Zealand's vodafone settings and got my 3G connection working and had data working too. I then swithced off the phone ad turned it back on again. This time it still could not connect to the network and now my settings don't work. Calls and txts work but my data doesn't... not anymore.
Also is there a way for me to get rid of sprint's activation process when i boot up the phone?
What is the normal boot time for the Driod 4? Mine takes about 1~2 minutes to boot before I can unlock my phone and start using it.

When I open the Settings application, and click on the option to check for Motorola software update, the following screen is displayed: "Check for update is not available at this time. Try again later." When I am on a Wi-Fi network, a similar message is displayed (no screenshot): "Your device is up to date! No update is necessary at this time." Can somebody please provide more information as to what specifically is causing the message in my screenshot below to appear?

I know how to resize the widget to get it unstuck. I know I can try to download another widget to replace it.What I don't know is why Motorola doesn't fix this teeny little widget and make it work correctly?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI really wish the Photon would display the actual time when an incoming text was sent rather than the time the phone received it. For instance, someone sends me a text at 3am while my phone is turned off. Then at 8am I turn it back on and received the text. But I have no idea what time the text was actually sent because it will be marked as 8am. With previous phones I had it would always show the actual time it was sent. Is this a bug or are all android phones like this?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an iPhone 4 with an SFR (French operator) SIM card. Since Friday my iDevice has had the following behaviour:
- 3G connectivity cannot be used with applications: for example, Safari cannot load a page when 3G is selected (3G icon near my operator name at the top of screen with 5 bars).
- When I reboot my device, the apps can use 3G for about 5 minutes and then 3G connectivity disappears but I STILL have the 3G icon.
- Curiously, if I disable 3G connectivity in "Settings" in order to force EDGE or GPRS then the device still maintains the EDGE/GRPS connectivity (apps can have access to the network). Wifi works also very fine.
Thus my conclusion is that 3G hardware module is OK since this module is the same for 3G/EDGE/GPRS systems (same antenna for the 3 systems) and since I can connect to 3G for at least 5 minutes. I did tge test with the NetSpeed app and I can reach good speeds (of course during 5 minutes max !). So far, I have not tried with another SIM card. I have tried far away (10 kilometers from my home) and I have the same issue, thus this is not a network bug for a given GSM cell. I wonder whether I must try a device restoring.

Why does "4G scan now" keep coming up when I have 4G turned off? I usually leave 4G off becuase it never works anyway (Despite the fact that I live in a good sized city that claims to have coverage). I certainly don't need 4G scan to be running in a basement or an insulated building. It's a waste and I think that off should mean off.

how the automatic time update function works on the Nokia 701 and the like? Mine is enabled and seems to update when my phone connects to a data source (e.g. when retrieving email or when browsing websites) but the time retrieved seems to be about two minutes slow. Where does the phone get it's time signal from? Is this a network thing (i.e. it is Orange that is running slow) or does it obtain the time from a Nokia server?
Finally can I change the server it obtains the time from?
is there any possibility to increase the 60 minutes clip recording time - e.g. to two hours.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been using my Nokia C5-00 for about a year now without any problems. Recently however, it started to show wrong time (like it was going too fast). The offset is usually about 15-30 minutes forward. Initially I thought that its just few seconds per minute faster than it should be (like a normal mechanism watch) and I tried to explain it with processor clock being somehow off, but I noticed that it must at one point just skip these several minutes.
I've never spotted this "skipping" explicitly but it happens once per 10-15 hours, I guess. E.g. it shows proper time the whole day and when I go to sleep but next morning its off several minutes. It happens both with automatic time update On and Off. I haven't updated my software for a couple of months now, but the one I got is up to date (according to Ovi).
My Storm II about a week ago started doing this Updating Time Zone. When it does it, it does it about every three minutes, switching to another time zone and then coming back to the one it belongs in. This is getting frustrating as it messes up my calendar and I keep getting these meeting notices. I have removed the battery and that has not helped. At first I thought it was when I was in areas with bad coverage but today it was doing it while in Minneapolis Minnesota. Anyone else having this trouble and what did you do? I have updated the Roaming and it still does it.

I have iOS 7.1.2. I have an iPhone 5 64 GB with Verizon. I wished to restore my phone to a previous time. I have a backup file from December 6th 2014, November 27 2014, and January 1 2014. The backup files are anywhere from 30-35 GB. When I attempt to restore my phone, it takes a long time, typically 4ish hours. I have tried multiple backups and am getting the same error Â
It will run fine the ENTIRE time, then when it gets to 0 minutes left and completes, I get an error. It tells me that the backup is corrupt or not compatible with the iPhone that I am using. All of these backup files were created within Itunes. All of these backup files were created with the same phone I am trying to restore to. I have no other iphones, iPad, or apple devices. I am restoring from a PC with an Intel i7 processor. I am running no other programs while iTunes is restoring and I have updated to the most current version of iTunes.Â
Why are my backups considered corrupt or incompatible and how do I fix this?Would updating my phone to iOS 8 hinder this?Is there a program or way that I can get the data/photos from the backup files.

using Photon 4G with Airtel prepaid sim with system version 45.3.6.MB855.Sprint.en, Whenever I run short codes (USSD codes) like *123# to check my prepaid GSM balance or interact with service provider by *121# it takes long time showing USSD code running.. and after few mins either shows MMI successfully complete or MMI failed but doesnt actually show the text which is shown in my other GSM phones; to query balance or activate some service. Tried forums but no concrete solution.

The phone reboots itself sometimes when I try to make or receive a phone call (2 or 3 times a day). I know this is happening to other Photon owners and I already tried the factory reset twice.
