Downloading another widget is not the answer to a broken widget. My Motorola Date/Time Widget now freezes every night when I charge the phone. I know how to resize the widget to get it unstuck. I know I can try to download another widget to replace it.What I don't know is why Motorola doesn't fix this teeny little widget and make it work correctly?

Mine seems to hang at night (seemingly about 20min after I plug it in for charging) and stays on yesterdays date and time until somehow it corrects itself the next day. There is no way to "activate it" or make it correct itself. All other clocks and calendars are correct.
View 15 Replies View Relatedafter this week update I'm not able to add this widget to my screen. I used to have it but deleted it. When I went back to put it on I get a message that I can only have one PicFrame widget on my homescreen... i went ahead and rebooted the phone and still the same. So I decided to clear the Home Data, to bring it back to stock, it let me add the widget but it wouldn't show any pics.. so I deleted it to try and add it back and got the same error I was getting befofe.... Can anyone else try to add the widget, delete it, and try adding it again? Any partial fix comes to mind. I think that the HOME app is locking data into memory and not releasing it... maybe that's why when I deleted the HOME DATA I was able to put it back.. but now is not letting me...

Could see the different clocks in 2.1 and then select. But not in 2.2.2. You just select digital and see if it appears on the screen after stepping out of this settingsBut despite selecting digital, after revisiting the settings box, it still shows analogue - it should show digital since I selected digitalOn the screen the digital time & date widget shows up with time (top part: time side is ok) but with date (bottom part), this part shows the entire calendar with the highlight on present date. Funny aspect is that earlier at the first ever initial time I selected this widget, it showed up with the date i.e., with bigger matching font size to time (top: time , bottom: date) but later it stuck to the entire month-calendar format as mentioned above. After this the widget screen size also remained unchangeable. This widget can't be resized. It could be resized in 2.1 with your format in mind.
Its stuck on this:I just want to see the date and time (3:44pm 15 Nov Mon) and not the entire month-calendar ... ideally this should go away once the widget is resized.Its quite surprising to see 2.2 behave so .. for a lack of better word .. buggish. I did the bit where you switch off the phone, remove the battery and fit it back and restart, but this didn't do much.Update:Got this widget to resize by fluke when I tried to insert another application on the home screen and so I have managed to at least get the widget to become smaller, albeit in the 'vertical stack' form. I have 4 apps on the very bottom of my home screen. When I move between home screens, these icons stay in place.Calculator, maps, iD & a square I touch to open my applications. I am trying to remove/delete the calculator icon but am having trouble doing so.Any other app I can hold, it vibrates & turns red and I just drag it to the trash can. These 4 icons at the bottom of the screen don't.
When I touch the calculator icon, the calculator opens. When I touch and hold the icon for the calculator, it opens a new window that says ADD TO DOCK
and lists programs/apps to add to the dock. No options to remove.
Again, I can not hold it down to drag it to the trash can.
know how I can remove this calc icon? Is this bottom row on my screen something special where apps permanently reside?
The latest Software Upgrade New from Moto, no longer has a Q4 date for ICS on the Photon. It now says "Further plans coming soon".I have no idea what this means.The optimist in me says that this means we are skipping ICS and going straight to JB.The pessimist in me says that Moto would rather just offer us $100 and not worry about supporting the Photon 4G anymore. I do hope we get some more definitive news so my two halves don't have to keep arguing.

What I am refering to is, the device OS is working but I try to open apps and nothing is happening, I can hit the home key and the apps button and they work but opening any apps nothing will happen. Sometime the apps will partialy open but sit there.
What i noticed when this is happening is the device is syncing. I am assuming it is doing my facebook, picasa, you tube, and twitter sync. Somethimes it recovers and works and sometimes it has the sync symbol an hour later and I have to reboot the device.
A few days ago I went for a run, got back, went on [url]... to see my workout... but it wasn't there. At first I thought it just didn't sync yet, manually synced it, still nothing. After playing around with it for a bit, I started reading through the forums and came across the "Class Action Lawsuit" thread where in the guys rant he says "It constantly resets the date and time so you're workout will show up as 4 months in the past ( not ideal for a training log) "

Couldn't find my session on the portal so checked the watch and found once again that it had changed the time and date. It definitely isn't user error and it's the 3rd time it's happened.

Over the past few weeks the date on my phone has reverted several times back to June 28, 2008.
When this occurred, the phone also failed to use or keep network time. I thought it might be the battery, but it shows a strong charge. This is the kind of symptom I would associate with a cmos battery failure in a pc.
Does the X have a cmos battery like a PC?
I almost missed an important appointment as my phone thought it was still years away!
if you set something to happen on a certain Day between a certain time the phone just ignores the fact that it's the wrong day to perform that action and just looks at the time ?

Ok, I set my Photon in the webtop dock, but just to charge on my desk, not using the webtop program. It used to display a choice of "Widget Clock" or Webtop, and it no longer does. Maybe I clicked the don't ask again box last time? I do not remember, it's been a few weeks since I used the dock. Anyway I am SURE this is a simple setting somewhere, but I cannot, for the life of me, find it to turn the selection screen back on. I cleared the cache and settings, still no selection screen.

It instead goes to the music library list and on top of that does not go the currently active album, but goes to the beginning of the list. Once in that state if you go back to the home screen and use the music shortcut instead, that too will mimic the widget behavior.The only way to correctly jump to the current track is to have the music player in currently playing view then go to the homescreen and use the music shortcut only. Then It behaves correctly.This is an annoying bug when one is listening to music all day at work every day.

I am using a Photon on Sprint's 3G EVDO network. When I open the Settings application, and click on the option to check for Motorola software update, the following screen is displayed: "Check for update is not available at this time. Try again later." When I am on a Wi-Fi network, a similar message is displayed (no screenshot): "Your device is up to date! No update is necessary at this time." Can somebody please provide more information as to what specifically is causing the message in my screenshot below to appear?

For instance, someone sends me a text at 3am while my phone is turned off. Then at 8am I turn it back on and received the text. But I have no idea what time the text was actually sent because it will be marked as 8am. With previous phones I had it would always show the actual time it was sent. Is this a bug or are all android phones like this?

View 6 Replies View RelatedInitially I used my Z3 without SD card. Everything word fine: album AND the foto widget which allows to browse through taken pictures.
After
- installing an SD card,
- changing the location for newly taken pictures to SD card
- AND moving some pictures to other directories -
- AND creating a number of .nomedia files on these directories to make these pictures not appear in the album nor in the foto widget,
the foto widget shows a broken image icon for ALL pictures taken until this change. All new pictures display fine in the widget and the album app.
I delete the album cache and data file (in settings -- all apps -- album).This didn't change anything (so far).
How can I force the album app/widget to recreate it's database and preview/thumbnails??
I have been using my Photon to record video and am starting to get tired of the 2gb or 23 minute file limit where the recording stops and I have to start the recording process again, does anybody know of a way to turn this feature off?

Why does "4G scan now" keep coming up when I have 4G turned off? I usually leave 4G off becuase it never works anyway (Despite the fact that I live in a good sized city that claims to have coverage). I certainly don't need 4G scan to be running in a basement or an insulated building. It's a waste and I think that off should mean off.
