When my phone is not in the navigation dock, the voice-guided GPS navigation works fine. But when I place the phone in the navigation dock, the voice-guided GPS navigation is suppressed so that there is no sound emitting from the devices speaker.

If my phone is locked and I am using a pin number for security, the phone never asks me to input my pin number once I place the phone in the cardock. The phone wakes up, unlocks and goes to the car dock screen. This is a bit scary, if that is all a person has to do to gain access to a locked phone.
It is so ridiculously annoying and pathetic that Motorola made a Photon 4G Q which won't be able to use original Photon 4G's accessories?I just bought Motorola Photon 4G HD Dock & Nav Dock and realized that Motorola Photon 4G Q has its HDMI & micro USB slots in different location than the original Photon.So that your loyal customers give you more $$$ to buy new accessories?
View 11 Replies View RelatedHas anyone seen / experienced this? When I have my photon in the car dock and using the GPS, I am unable to receive incoming calls. My girlfriend has called me for the past three days and she says my phone rings and rings and goes to voicemail. I have Sprint Service. I am not using TeleNav or any other navagation, I am just using the GPS mode and Bluetooth is also running. I dont have any other issues with not receiving incoming calls unless its in the dock.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have the Motorola car dock, and when the phone is docked, the volume buttons do nothing. I want to turn up the volume on the phone becuase even when I trun my radio up all the way, the volume is still not loud enough.
If I undock the phone and just use the headphone jack, I can turn the volume up and down on the phone.
So for some reason, the dock disables the use of the buttons.
My Photon has been pretty much flawless, but it has needed reboots twice and both times after disconnecting from the Car Dock.
View 1 Replies View RelatedPurchased the Navigation Dock few weeks ago and at first the dock worked great with a few modifications to my phone case. I would place it in the dock and Car mode came up instantly and it would start charging. I noticed after about 2 weeks it took more pusing down to get it to recognize. I since got a TPU case, which is thinner and the issue is even worse. I even tried to remove it from the case with the adapter and I have to shove it down hard and even then it takes several tries.

I have a wireless mouse, and I'm waiting for a keyboard but for some reason, I can't figure out how to bring up the full screen keyboard on the actual photon while I'm using the hd dock. I know it can be done because I saw it at the sprint store and I read of others doing it but all the searching I've done hasn't lead me to an answer. To clarify, I'm trying to figure out how to bring the keyboard up on the photon screen so I can type in web top mode until my regular keyboard arrives.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy problem is I cannot use any keyboard in Webtop mode.I have an MB855 Photon 4G with the HD Dock and a Motorola keyboard w/trackpad.I can connect to the dock fine and open the Webtop application, shows up on my TV and looks dandy. Then I turn on Bluetooth and pair the keyboard (Motorola 89507 wireless keyboard with trackpad) with the phone. It requests a numeric code which I enter on the keyboard and hit enter- presto.Now the screen on the phone changes to a clock and I can control the cursor through the trackpad on the keyboard. BUT no matter what I do the keyboard will not type letters. No keys on the keyboard appear to have any functionality.At this point I undocked the phone, then the keyboard works fine!Plug it back into the dock and -whoop- right back to no keyboard.At this point I decided to try my Logitech mouse & keyboard. I plugged in a Logitech unifying receiver into the back of the HD Dock and the screen flashed- but nothing else.

It doesn't seem to recognize that I have plugged a USB cable from the dock to my PC? What I wanted to do, was use it in the USB Mass Storage mode just like I do with a cable--nice fast file transfers, using the file explorer on my PC...
My only "complaint" is that whenever a call comes in or when I make a call, it always has it on the phonespeaker and not over the car dock audio connected to the radio. I have to press the speaker button to turn it off each time.way to have it default to the speaker being off?

If I plug in a headset it works, but while cooking in my kitchen at wired headset can lead to drops and damage. This issue only started a few days ago.

I went to Applications>Development> Unchecked Stay Awake and it keeps becomming checked everytime I reinstert it onto the Motorola Dock! The bluetooth works perfectly with the phone but the directions for the navigation won't come through. I don't have an aux plug on my car radio. Am I missing some setting or some nuance to this setup?

But when the phone is hooked up to the car dock-which is suppose to help the phone be "hands free"- the sound won't work. In other words, when I get a text and it says, "say Listen to hear your text" I can't ? This also happens when I try to use the navigation. I can see and it works fine, but I can't hear the instructions unless I take it off the dock, which is where I need it to be.

I thought the cradle software was supposed to automatically mute those notification sounds, but there must be something I've not set right somewhere. Anyone know how to fix it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've searched here and several other forums without success for an answer to how to suppress the notification sound that occurs when inserting the Droid 3 into the HD dock. I did see another thread that seems to mention this but it deals more with ongoing notifications throughout the night and I don't have any problems with that. don't want to use silent mode because I want calls to come through, but I don't want the notification sound to play on insert. I've tried the Bedside dock app becuase it selectively suppresses notification sounds (no email alert, can choose phone or SMS alerts). Bedside works great to handle email notifications but it insn't active until after the dock insert sound has played.This is a real nusiance when my wife is already asleep when I place the phone in the dock.

I have tried drying out the earphone socket with a hairdryer, and plugging/unplugging while listening to an iTunes song - all to no avail. If I have my headphones plugged directly into the dock itself the volume is considerably lower and have to have the media volume all the way up. When I have the headphones plugged directly into the phone the sound levels are normal. View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought my photon in July 2011. when I make calls I have repeated problems with people hearing me. They say my voice fades in and out or sounds like I am in an echo chamber. It doesn't matter where I am at, home, office, on the road. It happens to everyone. It started with my first photon. I was told an upgrade was coming to fix it. Upgrade provided no fix. Phone got run over (don't try this, it ain't that tough), new photon arrived, right out of the box, same problem. Sprint gave me another photon. As I drove out of the Sprint parking lot making my first call, same problem. If I plug my ear buds in, the problem immediatly goes away. Neither Sprint or Motorola have any answers. Does anyone have similar problem? Any fixes? I do not believe it is the phone but I have no ideas.

2) after the latest OS update, some aps disappear from the home screens. I reset them to the home screen but they keep being deleted.
Yesterday my sound on my Photon became distorted to the point of sounding like a distorted buzz. This includes system sounds and anything else that plays even when I pull out the battery and then boot into safe mode. I thought it may have been due to a bug in an update, but everything is up to date and I don't see any other complaints on this or any other forums. Oddly enough, everything sounds fine using headphones. Maybe it is a speaker/hardware failure, but that would seem very unusual. Everything else seems to be working OK.
For the record, here are the software versions running currently:

Kernel 2.6.32.9
