So I just HAD to have the multimedia dock for my Photon 4G. It's wonderful, and more convenient than fishing for cables when I need to charge the battery.
It doesn't seem to recognize that I have plugged a USB cable from the dock to my PC? What I wanted to do, was use it in the USB Mass Storage mode just like I do with a cable--nice fast file transfers, using the file explorer on my PC...
Before disconnecting my Photon from my Windows 7 computer I always eject the media prior to disconnecting the cable. I have a microSD card installed in my photon, so when I connect to the computer, two drives appear. It used to be when I clicked on the icon to eject the drives, the two drives displayed under MB855 and I could click on MB855 and eject both drives at once. I noticed recently that this is no longer the case. MB855 is greyed out and each drive must be ejected individually. At first I thought this was due to a change on my computer, but when I connected the phone to my other Windows 7 I saw the exact same behavior. When I connect my external WD HD, which has multiple partitions, to my computer it allows both partitions to be ejected at the same time, so now I'm thinking this change of behavior might be do to the recent Photon update. How to change this behavior so that both drives can once again be ejected at the same time?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI've run into a bit of a problem, as have MANY Photon 4G owners have as well.since mounting my Electrify as a USB mass storage device (the two "MOT" drives pop up in explorer), now the internal storage (which is where everything is) comes up as an unreadable drive.It mounted fine when I got it, then stopped working, then worked for a day, now it doesn't work.I've tried uninstalling drivers, taking out the battery, SD card, etc etc.

When I plug the Multimedia dock into the PC and dock my phone it does not.I moved from the Droid1 to the Droid4 and have a dock from my Droid1 that works as it should. The new Multimedia dock for my Droid 4 will not charge the phone while docked unless I plug it into the dedicated charging plug. Doing this, I lose the ability to transfer data back and forth via USB.

I thought the cradle software was supposed to automatically mute those notification sounds, but there must be something I've not set right somewhere. Anyone know how to fix it?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Droid X which has the Gingerbread update received OTA. I do not know if this is a Gingerbread issue, I just know it started recently.
When I put my phone in the Motorola Multimedia Dock (SPN5612A) my phone rapidly cycles between charging and not charging. It constantly flashes the "Disconnected" message which advises that I unplug the power adaptor to save the Earth. Power cycling the phone does not change this behavior.
I have taken the plug from the back of the dock and plugged it directly into my phone and the phone charges normally, so I know it has something to do with the multimedia dock. I also use the Motorola Car Dock (don't know model #) and my phone charges fine there, as well as with several different power adaptors, including one from my old HTC Droid Eris.
All of the sudden I am no longer getting mirror display or any of the other options when I dock of the phone. Thus I am getting no output to my tv screen.

I have the button unchecked for notification of full charge and I am on my second piece of hardware. Does anyone know how to stop the random notification sounds?

View 7 Replies View RelatedHas anyone seen / experienced this? When I have my photon in the car dock and using the GPS, I am unable to receive incoming calls. My girlfriend has called me for the past three days and she says my phone rings and rings and goes to voicemail. I have Sprint Service. I am not using TeleNav or any other navagation, I am just using the GPS mode and Bluetooth is also running. I dont have any other issues with not receiving incoming calls unless its in the dock.

They will not be back on the home screens automatically after exited from USB mass storage mode. I have to put them back by myself.

I have updated my drivers, enabled USB debugging, etc. It works on another Windows 7 computer, but not on my main laptop. No matter what I do, it will not find the Mass Storage drivers. Everything else works great. I have to run in Mass Storage mode to get to some files for a work app.

I know people who plug their phones in USB to their car CD Players and use it as if it were a flash drive. Now those users who may just have purchased a new phone are now screwed. You add features for upgrades not remove them. I am shocked and truthfully appualed to see where this new type of developer planning can lead to. Next were going to get pushed onto the cloud. If I'm going to remain an Android enthusiast and recommend Android to others you will not take away the things that brought me to Android! I could seriously put my Env touch before ever getting the FIRST OG Droid in Mass Storage Mode.This is not being posted to ruffle the feathers of users on this forum. This is intended as a wake up call to the developers to realize it was us phone enthusiasts that started this smart phone revolution anyways. This feature is very important to me as a Linux user. This feature was present when I purchased the phone and Android 4.0.4 (ICS). View 13 Replies View RelatedEverytime I connect my Droid3 to the computer my Droid Pulls pictures and music FROM my PC and puts it on the phone. Sometimes it will pull All of my pictures, and sometimes it randomly selects 2 or 3 HUNDRED of them. I recently decided to add some music to my phone and as I was creating my "playlist" to sync to my droid, I noticed that something was happening. Before I even hit sync, my phone pulled ALL of the music off my computer and stored it on my phone.
I have tried to delete the pictures by going into the file on the computer and I get half way through when it locks up. I have to delete EACH picture.
I have gone to the Verizon Store, they have never heard of this happening. They did a reset, which thrilled me because I lost all of my ringtones and downloaded apps. It also erased all the personalized ringtones I had set.
There is still a problem when you connect your phone to usb mass storage disappear from the desktop shortcuts to programs that are installed in the media area. Which is why is that?

I pull the drop-down down and tap "Connected as mass storage" and then try to uncheck Mass Storage... and nothing happens. Wonderful. I guess I have to disconnect through Windows or just rip the cable out of the computer; now I feel safer.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have the Motorola car dock, and when the phone is docked, the volume buttons do nothing. I want to turn up the volume on the phone becuase even when I trun my radio up all the way, the volume is still not loud enough.
If I undock the phone and just use the headphone jack, I can turn the volume up and down on the phone.
So for some reason, the dock disables the use of the buttons.
My Photon has been pretty much flawless, but it has needed reboots twice and both times after disconnecting from the Car Dock.

If my phone is locked and I am using a pin number for security, the phone never asks me to input my pin number once I place the phone in the cardock. The phone wakes up, unlocks and goes to the car dock screen. This is a bit scary, if that is all a person has to do to gain access to a locked phone.
My Bionic is connected to my Exchange Server @ my Firm. My Firm requires Device/Storage Encryption, which the Bionic supports just fine. Now that our phones/SD cards are encrypted when the phone is connected to a PC and the SD card mounted the pics are no longer readable because they are encrypted. Windows is unable to read them, if I email that pic from my phone to my gmail I can open it just fine. If I try to open it direct from the SD its a NO GO. I already ruled out that its my PC I tried 5 other including my personal PC at home...NO GO! So how to I access the pictures direct off the SD?

I have a wireless mouse, and I'm waiting for a keyboard but for some reason, I can't figure out how to bring up the full screen keyboard on the actual photon while I'm using the hd dock. I know it can be done because I saw it at the sprint store and I read of others doing it but all the searching I've done hasn't lead me to an answer. To clarify, I'm trying to figure out how to bring the keyboard up on the photon screen so I can type in web top mode until my regular keyboard arrives.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy problem is I cannot use any keyboard in Webtop mode.I have an MB855 Photon 4G with the HD Dock and a Motorola keyboard w/trackpad.I can connect to the dock fine and open the Webtop application, shows up on my TV and looks dandy. Then I turn on Bluetooth and pair the keyboard (Motorola 89507 wireless keyboard with trackpad) with the phone. It requests a numeric code which I enter on the keyboard and hit enter- presto.Now the screen on the phone changes to a clock and I can control the cursor through the trackpad on the keyboard. BUT no matter what I do the keyboard will not type letters. No keys on the keyboard appear to have any functionality.At this point I undocked the phone, then the keyboard works fine!Plug it back into the dock and -whoop- right back to no keyboard.At this point I decided to try my Logitech mouse & keyboard. I plugged in a Logitech unifying receiver into the back of the HD Dock and the screen flashed- but nothing else.

I went to Applications>Development> Unchecked Stay Awake and it keeps becomming checked everytime I reinstert it onto the Motorola Dock! So annoying, I made sure the phone is up to date and still this bug exists. Anyone know of a fix or work around?
