It is so ridiculously annoying and pathetic that Motorola made a Photon 4G Q which won't be able to use original Photon 4G's accessories?I just bought Motorola Photon 4G HD Dock & Nav Dock and realized that Motorola Photon 4G Q has its HDMI & micro USB slots in different location than the original Photon.So that your loyal customers give you more $$$ to buy new accessories?
View 11 RepliesHas anyone seen / experienced this? When I have my photon in the car dock and using the GPS, I am unable to receive incoming calls. My girlfriend has called me for the past three days and she says my phone rings and rings and goes to voicemail. I have Sprint Service. I am not using TeleNav or any other navagation, I am just using the GPS mode and Bluetooth is also running. I dont have any other issues with not receiving incoming calls unless its in the dock.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought the Atrix just for the docks (I have the car and lapdock) and after spending that much money I expect better from Motorola. I've updated to gingerbread if that help. The car dock hasn't rebooted the phone as much as the lapdock does but my lapdock is now useless.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have the Motorola car dock, and when the phone is docked, the volume buttons do nothing. I want to turn up the volume on the phone becuase even when I trun my radio up all the way, the volume is still not loud enough.
If I undock the phone and just use the headphone jack, I can turn the volume up and down on the phone.
So for some reason, the dock disables the use of the buttons.
My Photon has been pretty much flawless, but it has needed reboots twice and both times after disconnecting from the Car Dock.

If my phone is locked and I am using a pin number for security, the phone never asks me to input my pin number once I place the phone in the cardock. The phone wakes up, unlocks and goes to the car dock screen. This is a bit scary, if that is all a person has to do to gain access to a locked phone.
how to activate the full screen keyboard on my photon while I'm using the hd dock? I have a wireless mouse, and I'm waiting for a keyboard but for some reason, I can't figure out how to bring up the full screen keyboard on the actual photon while I'm using the hd dock. I know it can be done because I saw it at the sprint store and I read of others doing it but all the searching I've done hasn't lead me to an answer. To clarify, I'm trying to figure out how to bring the keyboard up on the photon screen so I can type in web top mode until my regular keyboard arrives.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy problem is I cannot use any keyboard in Webtop mode.I have an MB855 Photon 4G with the HD Dock and a Motorola keyboard w/trackpad.I can connect to the dock fine and open the Webtop application, shows up on my TV and looks dandy. Then I turn on Bluetooth and pair the keyboard (Motorola 89507 wireless keyboard with trackpad) with the phone. It requests a numeric code which I enter on the keyboard and hit enter- presto.Now the screen on the phone changes to a clock and I can control the cursor through the trackpad on the keyboard. BUT no matter what I do the keyboard will not type letters. No keys on the keyboard appear to have any functionality.At this point I undocked the phone, then the keyboard works fine!Plug it back into the dock and -whoop- right back to no keyboard.At this point I decided to try my Logitech mouse & keyboard. I plugged in a Logitech unifying receiver into the back of the HD Dock and the screen flashed- but nothing else.

It doesn't seem to recognize that I have plugged a USB cable from the dock to my PC? What I wanted to do, was use it in the USB Mass Storage mode just like I do with a cable--nice fast file transfers, using the file explorer on my PC...
When my phone is not in the navigation dock, the voice-guided GPS navigation works fine. But when I place the phone in the navigation dock, the voice-guided GPS navigation is suppressed so that there is no sound emitting from the devices speaker.

I went to Applications>Development> Unchecked Stay Awake and it keeps becomming checked everytime I reinstert it onto the Motorola Dock! So annoying, I made sure the phone is up to date and still this bug exists. Anyone know of a fix or work around?

In each case the dock worked fine for a short time, then phone suddenly stopped going into "dock mode" when inserted. The connection is OK: Still charges the phone. Just no dock mode features, which is why I bought the dock in the first place. Tried every combination of seating while turned on/off, seating then turning on/off, powering and de-powering dock, etc. No dice. Phone docks fine and enters car dock mode with car cradle. Using provided charger(s) with dock(s). Have not tried full reset of phone due to hassle of reinstalling apps, etc., but powered up, removed battery, etc. Am I really so unlucky as to get two defective docks or is there a software issue here?

But when the phone is hooked up to the car dock-which is suppose to help the phone be "hands free"- the sound won't work. In other words, when I get a text and it says, "say Listen to hear your text" I can't ? This also happens when I try to use the navigation. I can see and it works fine, but I can't hear the instructions unless I take it off the dock, which is where I need it to be.

I prefer the thinner silicon varity, buy I really want one that will fit with the car dock. Looking at the dock there seems to be a removable insert to be able to accomodate a thicker case.

Voice search (the app you get to by holding search) and Soundhound give me errors every time I try to use them with the vehicle dock connected. If I disconnect the vehicle dock, they work again, and as soon as I reconnect it they quit working.
Strangely enough, the app "Text by Voice" seems to be unaffected.
I have a iphone/ipod dock which worked well with my iphone 4, including connected to some Bose desk top speakers.
Since I've upgraded to the iphone 4S, I cant get the speakers to work.

I've been using the universal dock for almost 2 years with my iPhone 5 (using a genuine adapter from 30pin to lightening) and everything was ok.
a week ago I've opened the iPhone to switch the flex cable because the on/off button barely worked and also switched the battery with a new one, everything was genuine and now the dock refuses to work
it does charges the iPhone but the remote doesn't work and the audio doesn't go to the speakers connected to the dock, it get out of the iPhone speaker.

My bold stopped working a few weeks ago, At first i thought it was the battery, Bought a new battery nothing happened. Next i thought it was the Charger, Bought a new one still nothing happened . Someone told me that the USB port was probably broken, And i can't get it fixed by tmobile cause the bold is a AT&T Phone . So a friend of mine told me to buy a charger dock on Amazon/Ebay , And the Phone will charge i just won't be able to put stuff on my phone through my Computer . Can anyone clarify that if i buy the dock it will work?, Also if it doesnt work at this point what should i do?
View 4 Replies View Relatedso It seems my car dock isn't charging my phone. It was 90% when I left the house remained plugged in on the dock for an hour except for one phone call. I used Navigation for maybe 10 min and it was still at 90% when I got to work. I'm wondering if anyone else is having this problem. still have to test to see if its the charging port in the car that i'm using or not. It might be but the only other one I have in the car I can't use and connect to the car dock because it's too far away

View 15 Replies View RelatedI often park my Droid X in it Motorola Car Dock when I am on a long drive (2 hours) and usually turn on maps, gps, and bluetooth. Battery indicator top right shows lighting bolt thru battery in upper right of home page every time I look and looking at the cigarette lighter end of the cord, I see the red light on. Starting the trip, I verify I am 100% charge but at the end of the trip, I am not fully charged. why am I dot fully charged if on car battery the full time? If I assume my cable is ok and it is really connected full time to the car source, is it possible the usage current can be more than the charge current thus resulting in a never fully charged phone at the end of the trip? Or is this simply an indicator of a bad or intermittent cable?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI've been wakened several times a night by notification tones randomly going off for no reason while phone is docked. Seems a lot of folks are having the same experiences. I expect to hear the initial phone docking notification and the battery full notification is turned off so that aint it. I'd turn off notifications but that's a pathetic fix.

When I plug the Multimedia dock into the PC and dock my phone it does not.I moved from the Droid1 to the Droid4 and have a dock from my Droid1 that works as it should. The new Multimedia dock for my Droid 4 will not charge the phone while docked unless I plug it into the dedicated charging plug. Doing this, I lose the ability to transfer data back and forth via USB.
View 2 Replies View RelatedPurchased the Navigation Dock few weeks ago and at first the dock worked great with a few modifications to my phone case. I would place it in the dock and Car mode came up instantly and it would start charging. I noticed after about 2 weeks it took more pusing down to get it to recognize. I since got a TPU case, which is thinner and the issue is even worse. I even tried to remove it from the case with the adapter and I have to shove it down hard and even then it takes several tries.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm not a fan of the car dock app. I can only add one app to the shortcuts and I can't replace the existing ones. There's also a big back icon taking up space in the map app that I can't disable. Plus, I'd rather just use the default Google Navigation app instead. It has a better "follow me" feature when not navigating. Well, at least I like the first person perspective option versus the aerial point of view.
So, is it possible to replace the car app with a 3rd party app? I'd like it to launch instead of the Motorola one when the phone is docked. If so, what's a good 3rd party car app?
If that's not possible, then can I completely disable the car app from launching when docked? I'd prefer to keep using the Motorola car dock since I have Smart Actions that turn on GPS and Bluetooth when docked. I can press menu then exit to go to the home screen but when I press the home button it launches the car dock app again.
