I noticed that whenever I am making/receiving calls, the screen flashes every few seconds. I wonder why it is doing that. I have never seen this on any other phone before. At first I thought it was related only to the silent call issue that the screen flashes every few seconds but even when I am able to make a regular call it still does this.
View 1 RepliesI have no notifications in the drop-down menu and the green notification LED won't stop flashing when the screen is off. If I do get a real notification and clear it, then light will go away until the next reboot. I've done two factory resets and no change. I took the phone into Sprint this morning after a reset and no apps installed and the tech verified the problem but after a few minutes on the computer, he told me this was a known software problem and he can't do anything about it. I have spent most of today troubleshooting this and searching the internet and have yet to find any other Photon user with the same problem. I've seen some other posts with other phones (android and blackberry), but nothing that looked to be widespread and nothing by Photon users. I did find a way around this by rooting and installing an app that takes control of the LED but I shouldn't have to do this and the app seems to be a battery drain. I've since got rid of the app, unrooted and tried flashing the 1FF-sunfire-user-2.3.4-4.5.1A-1_SUN-154_5-CM-release-keys-signed-Sprint-US.sbf (old software from August) and the problem was still there. I then let the phone take the OTA updates and the problem persists. I didn't have this problem until I did a factory reset on Friday trying to get rid of another problem with rebooting.
View 14 Replies View Relatedusing Photon 4G with Airtel prepaid sim with system version 45.3.6.MB855.Sprint.en, Whenever I run short codes (USSD codes) like *123# to check my prepaid GSM balance or interact with service provider by *121# it takes long time showing USSD code running.. and after few mins either shows MMI successfully complete or MMI failed but doesnt actually show the text which is shown in my other GSM phones; to query balance or activate some service. Tried forums but no concrete solution.

Mine seems to hang at night (seemingly about 20min after I plug it in for charging) and stays on yesterdays date and time until somehow it corrects itself the next day. There is no way to "activate it" or make it correct itself. All other clocks and calendars are correct.

The phone reboots itself sometimes when I try to make or receive a phone call (2 or 3 times a day). I know this is happening to other Photon owners and I already tried the factory reset twice. My build # is 4.5.1A-1_SUN-198_6. Does anyone know a fix for that?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a major issue with my corporate exchange calendar. If I accept an invitation to a meeting, the phone makes me the organizer of the meeting. This syncs back to my corporate calendar. This is obviously completely wrong. If I delete the meeting on my phone, or on my computer, it sends out a message to everyone that was on the meeting saying that it was cancelled. If I need to adjust the meeting only on my calendar, it sends out an update to everyone. It has caused a lot of confusion for me and my work colleagues.
View 3 Replies View RelatedHas anyone seen / experienced this? When I have my photon in the car dock and using the GPS, I am unable to receive incoming calls. My girlfriend has called me for the past three days and she says my phone rings and rings and goes to voicemail. I have Sprint Service. I am not using TeleNav or any other navagation, I am just using the GPS mode and Bluetooth is also running. I dont have any other issues with not receiving incoming calls unless its in the dock.

I did a full factory reset about a month ago. the last couple of days the phone has been freezing with the alarm. the alarm will go off and I might get one or two snoozes out of it then the display freezes and is unresponsive. O can push the power button to get the power off menu but the screen will not respond to allow a power off, I must remove the battery to reset the phone.and as anyone who has a Photon knows how much fun putting the back on is. Any ideas.again this is a pretty fresh reboot and I do not have near as many apps running as before the reboot

View 6 Replies View RelatedAnyone used or using Drive First?I installed it, was using it, but just too much for me, I already use a car dock, motospeak and bluetooth.(Yes, trying to be safe).It just does not intrgrate well with Google Voice.Anyway, it seemed to install an app when I signed up for it, the app is called Smart Device Manager.After cancelling Drive First it continues to lock my screen when the car moves.I figured out which app is is, but the only available option is "uninstall updates" and it keeps wanting to re-update the app after I uninstalled updates. I have uninstalled updates and reinstalled a few times, but it seems that app is dug in there, and won't leave.Because Sprint customer service has NO CLUE (after 4 reps) how the app works, or how to get rid of it?

The the only way to unlock the phone is to keep the power button press as is Im about to turn the phone off, and then cancel....then I get get the pattern unlock screen.

Today the screen will not go to sleep/time out. i checked the settings, it was still set to one minute, so i changed it to 30 seconds ..didnt help. I did a battery pull.Screen on. Now the screen isnt turning back on. However the phone is working fine. View 8 Replies View RelatedI use my phone with a wired headset (no hang up botton on the headset). This also happens on speaker phone. If I'm on a conversation for several minutes and its time to hang up--I have to unlock and enter my password (required for corporate activesync) then push the end call button. This makes hanging up an awkward process--having to fumble around for several seconds while the other party gets to listen to you doing it. The lock doesn't happen all the time.
But one way for sure to recreate the behavior is to:
1. Set your screen timeout to 15 seconds.
2. Call the phone from another line. Answer phone and put it on speaker phone. Or use wired headset as I do.
3. Wait for screen timeout or just press power button while on the call. Now wake the phone up. The phone may or may not be locked now. But if you now press the Home softkey, the screen will certainly lock....while you are on a call! This means you know have to slide the lock and enter security code just to hang up on someone.
A better practice from a design stand point is that the phone should never lock while you are on a call. What purpose does it serve to lock while on a call? When it locks you can neither hang up, push dial tones, answer call waiting, etc. until you unlock it. This needs to be fixed.
Today after turning my phone back on it got stuck on the 'Now' screen and wouldn't finish powering up. During this time my phone was connected to the network and the phone received messages and rang once but of course I couldn't view the messages or answer the calls. I wasn't able to turn it off either. The only way to fix it was to pull the battery.

I recently decided to change it, so I go to settings put in a new pattern and confirm it no problem. I locked it to try it out and now when I press on the first circle it doesn't light up and it doesn't show a trail behind it. The screen also shuts off in 3 seconds. Now I can't unlock my phone. I'm not running any lockers or launchers just stock android. I searched google and these forums for lock screen bugs but I haven't found anything similar to my situation.

The screen dims for a moment randomly and then lights full again but will not time out. Also there are a few random times when it seems to loose all touch sensitivity (I cannot unlock!) or if it is unlocked cannot do anything - screen seems to be frozen. And now the proximity sensor doesn't work - the screen is still active once it is up to my ear and it's dailing random numbers while I am trying to talk.

My wife's Nexus goes dark (locks) during a call, and the screen comes back on (unlocks) after her call is complete.
View 7 Replies View RelatedIt rebooted itself once and was fine. Then the screen flashed to a sprint logo and its stuck with the yellow word 'NOW' (like advertisement) on the screen. I've tried plugging in and toggling the power button. I just got this phone and still am figuring it out. Also the notification light is flashing a pink color as well.
