Today after turning my phone back on it got stuck on the 'Now' screen and wouldn't finish powering up. During this time my phone was connected to the network and the phone received messages and rang once but of course I couldn't view the messages or answer the calls. I wasn't able to turn it off either. The only way to fix it was to pull the battery.

(I don't have my wall charger, i left it in NZ as i am over seas)Now when i plug it in theres a white light which then turns green. After about 10mins the phone swithes on and jsut as it says starting services, it says shutting down.

So let me clarify early... I CANT EVEN GET PASSED THE "NOW" SCREEN.... SOMETIMES IT DOES BUT IT STAYS ON THE "STARTING SERVICES" WITH THE WHEEL SPINNING BUT NEVER GETS TO THE HOME PAGE.. IT SAYS THAT ACTIVITY "STARTING SERVICES" IS HAVING TROUBLE.. FORCE CLOSE? THEN I PULL THE BATTERY OUT AND DO THIS AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN...ETC.

I noticed that whenever I am making/receiving calls, the screen flashes every few seconds. I wonder why it is doing that. I have never seen this on any other phone before. At first I thought it was related only to the silent call issue that the screen flashes every few seconds but even when I am able to make a regular call it still does this.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIf I send an email (exchange) from an area with marginal service, the email will get stuck in the outbox.It will not send when I enter an area with "good service." e.g. my house with wifi, or anywhere in town with good 3G.I cannot delete the emails from the outbox. It states "email cannot be openned it is currently being sent."I get errors every minute that says "X" emails cannot be sent. Where X is the number I tried to send while out of service area.The error it says is connection error. I am the exchange server admin, and all the settings are correct. If I go back in and try to re-enter the settings, it doesn't fix it. I am forced to delete and re-enter the account with the same settings. I have had to do this 4 times now (I have had the phone since Sep. 13th). I have 23 other phones currently running on the server, and I personally have had 2 others (HTC Evo Shift and Palm Pre) that did not have this issue.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI've had my Photon for two weeks now and love it, but I've noticed it tend to randomly reboot itself after being removed from a car charger. Now the phone boots until it gets into the android operating system, then resets itself. This makes me VERY nervous for two reasons. I don't want to be stuk with a hone that reboots constantly, and more importantly, I sell them and don't want to have to tell everyone I've sold to that I've made a mistake. Is there a fix for this other than a hard reset?

I am able to choose the other 3 options (with the blue checkmark toggling in the checkboxes), but nothing happens. When I exit and pull down the connection from the notifications list it just reverts back to "Charge Only" no matter what I try.
I've searched around and still can't find an answer to this specific problem... but I have a feeling it might have to do with that November Update. Today was the first time I tried to connect my phone as "Mass Storage" to transfer music files since before the update. It worked completely fine before the update... anyone know how to resolve this?
I'm using the official Motorola micro USB cable that came with the phone, have tried unmounting the SD card, resetting/powering off the phone, tried every single USB port on my computer and laptop (both Windows7). I'm very confused why I suddenly can't enter "Mass Storage" mode anymore...
I've had a problem, and hoped the update would fix it, but it didn't.Not a major thing, but I subscribe to the $30 Sprint wireless hotspot service.It seems to be okay when in 4g. But, it seems like when I'm in 3g, and I end the hotspot (uncheck the box), the notification of it being active stays in the notification bar.It's uncertain if the hotspot is still running. The only way to clear it from the notification bar is to power off/on the phone.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have several wifi devices (laptops / tablets) that connect without a problem to my home WPA2 secured wifi network.The photon detects this network and will connect to my home network, BUT ----Implied Profanity Removed---- there are many occassions when it will try to locate the router and try to connect but always loops with "obtaining IP address" -The only solution I have for the photon to connect is by manually rebooting or turning off/on the router, disabling photon wifi > re-enable photon wifi > select my home network and it will connectI have a static IP address for my main router connection and have assigned a DHCP range from : 192.168.31 - 192.168.254 with a lease expiry of 24 hours.
The router and my bandwidth (24mb down / 1.5mb up) has been going strong for a few years.What setting am I missing here or need to modify? I never had to reboot or reset my other wifi devices to ever connect, and I just changed the DHCP range to the above again today. I had a channel setting of "6" and changed it to "11" now also...Once the wifi is connected to the photon, it will stay connected for the most part, but if I leave the home or perhaps overnight the wifi gets disconnected resulting in me having to reboot the router, disable photon wifi, re-enable photon wifi for it to connect
My Photon automatically defaults to the dial screen when I press the call button from the home screen. It used to display the last tab used or recent calls if I had missed one. I have scanned through all of the options and can't seem to find an option to change this.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got my Photon yesterday and really like it. One odd thing I noticed was that sometimes an application icon on my desktop will be stuck in a "Loading" state. If I click on the icon, it says something like the application is unavailable. If I restart my phone, the problem appears to go away.A co-worker that has had the Photon for a while now says that he gets this problem all the time. He says restarting the phone will fix the problem for that icon, but sometimes another icon will have the same problem.It appears to happen with any launcher (e.g. Motoblur or GO Launcher EX).
*EDIT: In addition to the icon being stuck in "loading" on the desktop, I noticed that if you open the Applications area, the icon for the application doesn't even show up.
When I use face unlock, or pattern unlock, when the phone gors to slee, and I press the power button I just get a black screen where the pattern unlock or face unlock feature should. The the only way to unlock the phone is to keep the power button press as is Im about to turn the phone off, and then cancel....then I get get the pattern unlock screen.

Today the screen will not go to sleep/time out. i checked the settings, it was still set to one minute, so i changed it to 30 seconds ..didnt help. I did a battery pull.Screen on. I still can manually put it to sleep with the power button, but this is not good.Its sucking my battery life!

Now the screen isnt turning back on. However the phone is working fine. View 8 Replies View RelatedI use my phone with a wired headset (no hang up botton on the headset). This also happens on speaker phone. If I'm on a conversation for several minutes and its time to hang up--I have to unlock and enter my password (required for corporate activesync) then push the end call button. This makes hanging up an awkward process--having to fumble around for several seconds while the other party gets to listen to you doing it. The lock doesn't happen all the time.
But one way for sure to recreate the behavior is to:
1. Set your screen timeout to 15 seconds.
2. Call the phone from another line. Answer phone and put it on speaker phone. Or use wired headset as I do.
3. Wait for screen timeout or just press power button while on the call. Now wake the phone up. The phone may or may not be locked now. But if you now press the Home softkey, the screen will certainly lock....while you are on a call! This means you know have to slide the lock and enter security code just to hang up on someone.
A better practice from a design stand point is that the phone should never lock while you are on a call. What purpose does it serve to lock while on a call? When it locks you can neither hang up, push dial tones, answer call waiting, etc. until you unlock it. This needs to be fixed.
I've been using the pattern screen lock since I got my mopho in november. It's been working smoothly until now. I recently decided to change it, so I go to settings put in a new pattern and confirm it no problem. I locked it to try it out and now when I press on the first circle it doesn't light up and it doesn't show a trail behind it. The screen also shuts off in 3 seconds. Now I can't unlock my phone. I'm not running any lockers or launchers just stock android. I searched google and these forums for lock screen bugs but I haven't found anything similar to my situation.

The screen dims for a moment randomly and then lights full again but will not time out. Also there are a few random times when it seems to loose all touch sensitivity (I cannot unlock!) or if it is unlocked cannot do anything - screen seems to be frozen. And now the proximity sensor doesn't work - the screen is still active once it is up to my ear and it's dailing random numbers while I am trying to talk.

Now the Phone wont power on. The battery is fully charged & i have tried the vol down + Power button combo.
I would like to be able to set my Photon 4g so that the home screen is in landscape mode without having to open the kickstand or use a dock. Is there a simple setting or an app that will let me toggle this behavior? In my case I have a third party car dock and I want to set the home screen to landscape when I dock it and plug in the power connector.

I have a wireless mouse, and I'm waiting for a keyboard but for some reason, I can't figure out how to bring up the full screen keyboard on the actual photon while I'm using the hd dock. View 1 Replies View RelatedOver the last week I've noticed sudden power loss on my Photon. It will go blank without warning. Plug it in and it will show 0%-10% battery power. Watch the screen and it will sometimes jump back up suddenly. From 10-20% to 100% before my eyes. I'm guessing it's a battery or phone issue. Don't see any other discussions about this. Planning on brining the phone in soon

When I rotate to put the charger on top (aka, so I can charge the battery while doing something so battery draining), nothing happens, the video won't rotate. (This was flash emedded video on a web page.)
