I have a trouble. After connection to TV and disconnection via hdmi cable the screen of photon is never turned off, only manual or after rebooting. Stock ROM 198_7, root, motorola's hdmi cable, TV panel.

What wasn't awesome is that the screen timesout and that's it for the audio.So if I want to listen to my music, do I have to set the screen timeout for never? Is there no specific HDMI mirror mode setting for this? I looked around and couldn't find one.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to setup the HDMI mirroring from my Photon, but can't get it to work. When I hook the hdmi cable to the phone, something happens because the Motorola logo shows up on the TV, but I don't get a prompt to select mirroring or video out. From what I've read, that's what I expected would happen.Any ideas what could be happening? Could this possibly be a defect in the phone? Some software setup issue? The only HDMI setting I can find is hte display area, and changing that doesn't affect this.

By the way I have the whole motorola multimedia kit.
My HDMI icon stays in my status bar after I use HDMI to my TV. It won't go away until a reboot. Does anyone know why? Is there a procedure I'm not following to disconnect cable?

Whether plugged in to charger or not, after two minutes the screen went BLANK (locked), and stayed such until I unlock it.Due to issues with it automatically redialing the last number (did my voice mail 51 times before I powered it off), got a replacement.This one after the 2 minutes, the screen would DIM, but would not go BLANK, but only when plugged in to the charger. Off the charger, 2 minutes, screen goes blank.Verizon has been no help on this. This phone kept losing the data connection, so they have sent me a 3rd... and it does the same with regards to the screen going blank.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIntermittenly the display screen timeout resets to NEVER. Nothing that I do (or at least so I think) causes this. I don't know it until I notice that the battery is dangereously low. Don't have any apps that may cause this that I know of.
Used to have a similiar situation with the Original Droid where it would reset to 30 seconds.
Does this happen to anyone else and if so how did you get around it? Or is it yet another bug in the operating system? Happened pre-GB also. Doesn't seem to be more or less frequent with GB.
Right after I have rebooted my Droid my sound continues when the screen times out.However, somewhere along the way something changes and when the screen times out the sound goes too.
I can't force the sound to stay on when the screen times out after that; unless I got through the tedious process of shutting down and rebooting.
If marathon mode is set and screen timeout is set after you power down the unit and then power it up again it keep marathon mode set but looses the screen timeout selection. You have to go in and set screen timeout again before you start the run. I think this is a bug. I saw someone mention it in another posting. I wanted to bubble it to separate thread so a Moto eng could see it and hopefully fix it in the next firmware release.

View 1 Replies View Relatedi have the timeout for my screen set for two minutes. this is normally good as my major use is checking e-mail or surfing the web. if i am watching a Internet video longer than 2 minutes or using navigation the xoom shuts off and i have to press the power button and then play (if i was watching a video) to continue for another two minutes until it shuts off again. here's my question.. am i missing something in settings or do i just have to adjust the screen timeout time every time i want to use an app that doesn't require me touching the screen for 2 minutes?

When the phone starts dialing I have to physically press bluetooth on the dialer for it to connect to my car's hands free link(even though I am already connected by streaming music). I get connected then end the call. The car radio then switches back to Bluetooth audio but no sound, the volume is not on mute on either the phone or car after a minute it just starts playing music again.I tried turning the phone on and off and then reconnecting it to the car, I also deleted all the previous phone and Bluetooth info from my car but no improvement. I never had this issue with other phones connected to my car. If it helps it is a Acura.

It takes up to five minutes after powering the phone on for the bars to turn blue, and starting today, they just stay gray and I am unable to connect to the internet. Whenever I'm in a non-sprint zone and switch to global mode, the phone won't pick up a new network, even after I reboot the phone multiple times. I'm getting rather frustrated with this phone, as this happens frequently.

It keep retrying to connect and ended up draining the battery within a few hours. This has happedened on WIFI and 4G. I noticed that when I turned on 4G I got the connection failed until I turned it off. I have reboot, powered down and removed the battery. It willl work for awhile and than stop and sometimes recover if I open the email app. I'm on 45.3.6.

I am able to choose the other 3 options (with the blue checkmark toggling in the checkboxes), but nothing happens. When I exit and pull down the connection from the notifications list it just reverts back to "Charge Only" no matter what I try.
I've searched around and still can't find an answer to this specific problem... but I have a feeling it might have to do with that November Update. Today was the first time I tried to connect my phone as "Mass Storage" to transfer music files since before the update. It worked completely fine before the update... anyone know how to resolve this?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a HTC one (4 days ago) and already exchanged the phone once do to a defect in the wifi & now I'm about to change the phone again due to the same issue.
The phone will connect to the internet via wifi, but only work for 5 minutes, then nothing. The phone shows that a wifi signal is still available & that it is connected, but if you try to surf the net or refesh emails/facebook/weather, nothing. A message then appears on the phone stating connection timeout and you have to turn wifi off, then on again, for another 5 mins connection.
So far I've tried..................
1.Different routers, at home/mobile broadband/work/friends - same issue.
2. Contacting HTC and using 'safe mode' whilst they talked to me - same issue.
3. Factory reset - same issue.
4. New phone, changed at a recognised shop - same issue.
Luckily enough I'm within my 7 day phone exchange with my phone provider, so the things going back & exchanging for a different brand...............
On a different note, my wife also got a new phone at the same time, HTC One Mini & this is working ideal.
I am not the only one to have had this happen. ANother poster over at Droidfourms.net has had the same thing happen to them. The screen after disconnecting from the HDMI port will go dim like it is about to shut off but it won't. It will stay dim until you manually turn off the screen with the top power button. It is a glitch and battery killing one to say the least. Anyone else have the issue or remedy other than rebooting like I had to! I mean why do I have to tear apart an Otterbox case everyday? If the HDMI glitch doesn't bother me then it is the black screen of death requiring another battery pull!

Currently when i use the HDMI cable the screen turns such that the cable goes in from the bottom which if the XOOM is on my lap is awkward. It would bebetter if the HDMI port was at the top.
Last night when I turned on my wifi at home, the wifi and phone signal bars appeared but were gray and I had no internet/data connection. I checked the wifi settings which indicated I was connected with good to excellent signal. Toggled the Wifi on and off several times, and turned phone on and off, which did not work. Went into wifi settings and told it to forget settings and reconnected, same result. When I turn off wifi, 3G appears and data connection is restored. Left the phone on in the media dock all night, and this morning when I turned on wifi, all was fine. What does gray signal bar mean?

Sometimes that isn't long enough -- I'm waiting for a specific thing to happen that I want to photograph, like the start of a sporting event, and reopening the camera app is a pain.
