Is there any way to turn the orientation of the screen when the HDMI cable is plugged in.
Currently when i use the HDMI cable the screen turns such that the cable goes in from the bottom which if the XOOM is on my lap is awkward. It would bebetter if the HDMI port was at the top.
I am not the only one to have had this happen. ANother poster over at Droidfourms.net has had the same thing happen to them. The screen after disconnecting from the HDMI port will go dim like it is about to shut off but it won't. It will stay dim until you manually turn off the screen with the top power button. It is a glitch and battery killing one to say the least. Anyone else have the issue or remedy other than rebooting like I had to! I mean why do I have to tear apart an Otterbox case everyday? If the HDMI glitch doesn't bother me then it is the black screen of death requiring another battery pull!

I tried connceting it to the TV and also treid it with my dell laptop.But in both i didnt see the phone detecting the HDMI conncetion. What i understood from some of the discussions here is phone gives us two options fvrom which we can select HDMI project options so that we can play media in phone. But i dont understand why i am not geting those option when i connect HDMI cable.I started grtting a doubt that weather the Atrix peace that i have is faulty or HDMI cable may be faulty..Suggest me somethig so that i can able conncet my phone to HDMI .

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I connect my Xoom to any port on my Samsung LCD, it syncs at 1280 x 720 only. There are no settings for the HDMI ports on the TV, they are all auto sensing. I am using a 9` HDMI cable. The picture looks fine, although I'm sure it could look better.

I have the pieces, and have verified I can do straight HDMI to a monitor that supports it. When I try to run the signal to DVI on a different monitor, I get nothing.
I'm having problems playing my .mp4 files on my TV using the HDMI output option. The mirroring keeps blacking out and coming back in. It's almost not woth watching a movie because of it. Before 4.0.3 I was able to playback flash video in the browser on my TV through the HDMI cable, now with 4.0.3 I have lost that ability. View 1 Replies View RelatedAnyhow, out of the box, whenever he opened something that could have a landscape orientation - web browser, menus, etc - the screen would automatically turn to that orientation and he would have to turn his phone to use it, ie, no matter how he held it, it would *always* change to landscape.Going into the display settings and turning off "Auto-rotate" screen keeps the screen in portait mode, but then lansdcape doesn't work at all.We did a power off and battery removal and now the phone always stays in portrait mode irresepective of what the display setting is set to.
The odd thing is, the NFS game that comes on it plays perfectly?!Just wondering if anyone has had this issue and managed to fix it without having to return the phone? (it came from Amazon, so it's not as simple as walking into a store and swapping it)
A couple weeks ago the Xoom stopped charging. I took it to work to look at it and then it just started charging at work. I brought it home and it was charging again at home too. I thought it must have been some fluke. Only now it is doing it again. I have tried dozens of outlets, and they work for any other device but not for the Xoom. It won't charge.

My HDMI icon stays in my status bar after I use HDMI to my TV. It won't go away until a reboot. Does anyone know why? Is there a procedure I'm not following to disconnect cable?
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy Razr constantly detects a HDMI cable connection, even though there is no HDMI cable near it (not even a USB cable is connected). A popup keeps showing up asking me to "Select Dock Type". This has been really annoying, as I need to dismiss it every time it shows up. I can't find a way to disable the detection of the HDMI cable.
This problem started after 2 weeks into owning the phone, back in mid December. I called Verizon technical support. They thought it was a hardware defect, and sent me a replacement phone. However, when I received the phone, I found that it was a refurbished phone with a big scratch on the side. I returned it and kept my original one.
Other than this problem, everything runs great, and I love my Razr. My question is: has anyone seen this problem? I have learned to deal with it by dismissing the popup every time I unlock the screen. Can a future software update include a setting where I can disable the HDMI detection?
I have an OTG cable and it was my understanding that although this wouldn't give me full "mass storage" it would at least allow me to access media on an attached USB flash drive? Have I missed something?I have File Station and am not rooted

What wasn't awesome is that the screen timesout and that's it for the audio.So if I want to listen to my music, do I have to set the screen timeout for never?
