I've just upgraded to ICS 4.0.4 for the Telstra Xoom 3G model, I was expecting the I could mount a USB device on my tablet much like I've been doing on my phone.After the Upgrade I still can't see the USB device mounted?
View 2 RepliesAs tablet wars have inevitably emerged and one is compared against another; I have to wonder --how much utility is the tablet getting from those who purchase them. Personally, I've been using it to watch streaming TV to which I don't have over cable, listen to local police & emergency scanners, listen to music from the 'cloud', play a few rounds of "Angry Birds" as well as streaming with "Live Radio". I've actually used the Google Navigator once and it's been very useful when finding a final destination.I don't know if I'm using the device to the "best" of its ability, if not, what else can one do with it? I've recently seen some hardware and software that turns an iPad into an O-scope, are there projects out there fot the Android market following the same lead?
View 15 Replies View RelatedI have the Xoom wifi in Canada and I am trying to access USB devices like a canon camera, usb drives (kingston and Lexar) and a mouse. I have an OTG cable and android 3.1. can anyone help me I would really like the usb drives working that is all I need. I tried a google search and they all say it must be rooted, is that true? I do not want a rooted device if at all possible. am I missing something in the settings or can I download something I am sure there is someone out there who has it working.

Currently when i use the HDMI cable the screen turns such that the cable goes in from the bottom which if the XOOM is on my lap is awkward. It would bebetter if the HDMI port was at the top.
Over last one month, I have bought at least 4 new USB cables, and within a short period of time, these USB cables just refused to charge anymore, at least no more "lightning" signal on the apple devices indicated. While the condition of these cables are still very new, what could be the issue? I have ensure that my devices have the latest OS updated and yet these charging issues are happening more and more frequently.

When I hook up the phone through USB to organize or add/delete files using a computer, the next morning my alarm clock has defaulted to an on-phone ringtone. I was used to my sounds being different while I have the SD card actively unmounted, but the settings were always maintained when I returned.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've run into a bit of a problem, as have MANY Photon 4G owners have as well.since mounting my Electrify as a USB mass storage device (the two "MOT" drives pop up in explorer), now the internal storage (which is where everything is) comes up as an unreadable drive.It mounted fine when I got it, then stopped working, then worked for a day, now it doesn't work.I've tried uninstalling drivers, taking out the battery, SD card, etc etc.

The browsing speed is very very slow and most sites dont open.The signal strength shown in xoom is - (-105 dBm 3 asu).Is this a issue with Android 3.2 update or my home wifi is weak? All my contacts, settings etc were backed up in my 2GB SD card (which came along with the phone) using the back up and restore software within the phone. Recently my phone's earspeaker was not functioning and i took it to the service centre for repair( it was within the warranty period) where they removed the SD card without unmounting and gave it to me. After the repair when i inserted my Sd card it wont work. My phone says "SD card removed. Insert a new one." It would recognise any other card except mine. it is not working on my computer either (computer doesn't recognise it at all). I have all my Contacts and other files in it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have an unrooted S2 running Android v2.3.4, which I connect to my PC using USB debugging off.I do this because I have the Widgetsoid app installed, and use it for one-click USB mass storage access on my PC when the phone is connected.when I connect via USB however (through Widgetsoid or the "clean" way though the Wireless Settings), my home screen seems to refresh, and the Social Hub icon I have at the bottom of the screen (along with Applications, Call and Contacts) vanishes. This happens every time I mount the mass storage, meaning I have to go into the application menu to drag it back into the tray and save it again, but the same repeats each time.

Every other device I have (including other Motorola phones) have no trouble at all charging off the same cord. Given the existing battery issues with the Droid 3, a quick fix would be wonderful. Not sure if there is anything I can change in the settings to address this.This is not an issue of the device using more power than the cable provides, when I say it doesn't charge, I mean it doesn't charge at all. I tried connceting it to the TV and also treid it with my dell laptop.But in both i didnt see the phone detecting the HDMI conncetion. What i understood from some of the discussions here is phone gives us two options fvrom which we can select HDMI project options so that we can play media in phone. I want to get the Nexus One right when it comes out on the 5th but now I'm thinking maybe I should wait and see what Motorola has up it's sleeve. If they are mid-level devices I would not be interested but something high end like the rumored Shadow/Mirage would be very intriguing. Anyone care to speculate?
