Word is Motorola may be announcing 2 new android devices at CES. I want to get the Nexus One right when it comes out on the 5th but now I'm thinking maybe I should wait and see what Motorola has up it's sleeve. If they are mid-level devices I would not be interested but something high end like the rumored Shadow/Mirage would be very intriguing. Anyone care to speculate?

View 1 Replies View RelatedAs tablet wars have inevitably emerged and one is compared against another; I have to wonder --how much utility is the tablet getting from those who purchase them. Personally, I've been using it to watch streaming TV to which I don't have over cable, listen to local police & emergency scanners, listen to music from the 'cloud', play a few rounds of "Angry Birds" as well as streaming with "Live Radio". I've actually used the Google Navigator once and it's been very useful when finding a final destination.I don't know if I'm using the device to the "best" of its ability, if not, what else can one do with it? I've recently seen some hardware and software that turns an iPad into an O-scope, are there projects out there fot the Android market following the same lead?

I set up the first device and now when i connect the second phone it does not recognize that the motocast software is already loaded. I also tried to use the same login info on the phone and got an error that it is an unauthorized device.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had every iphone and I got my I4 on launch day. Since then, the two big Android devices came out (Evo/Droid X). I've always been a gadget geek, so I went and checked them out. For the most part, they are both pretty impressive. I'm not ready to give up my iPhone...yet, but there are a couple of things that I really liked that I wish the iPhone would incorporate:
1- widgets
I get the feeling that the droid desktop is "alive" and some of the widgets are really useful. I know it's cliche'd, but the weather widget is really cool. If a storm is approaching, the desktop clouds up. This type of stuff isn't for everyone, but it would be nice to have the option. It makes the standard iPhone desktop feel a little stale.
2- bigger screen
I thought the Evo would be way too much of a slab, but it really didn't feel too big to me. I absolutely love the I4 Retina display, but after playing with the Evo, I really think that Apple needs to offer two options in the future. The "standard" iPhone screen and a slightly larger version for those of us that want that.
I currently have 3 razr maxx's signed up for the FBN. I was wondering if Matt or Mark if that in any way effects a persons chances of being selected. I was wondering if moto would simply see this like a person had 2 replacement devices, or how it works? Of course I have my main device set as my main device.

I have an OTG cable and android 3.1. can anyone help me I would really like the usb drives working that is all I need. I tried a google search and they all say it must be rooted, is that true? I do not want a rooted device if at all possible. am I missing something in the settings or can I download something I am sure there is someone out there who has it working.

View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter having a ton of syncing problems that never got resolved I now get "Please wait, syncronization in progress..." screen for a long period of time. It will eventually time out.
I have tried uninstall, reinstall, and even a factory reset erasing everything. Nothing works. I have had this issue with the last couple versions of the MOTOACTV app but I am currently on 2.0.52. I emailed support a logcat a while back but never heard anything from it. I love the MOTOACTV, but without the app.
Oh and I am using a Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus with Android 4.0.4.

The hotfix it refers to is apparently a Vista Windows installer issue. I reinstalled windows installer just in case, and tried removing all Motorola related software from the computer then running the installer again.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been reading a lot of posts on here and all the problems experienced with the Defy and different versions of Android that I am just wondering what really is the best version to use on the Defy that has the least problems?I have seen posts saying that 2.2 is buggy but not as buggy as 2.1. But now I have recently seen a post where the OP is wanting to downgrade from 2.2 I believe back down to 2.1 due to problems.What exactly is the issue, is it the operating system (software) or the actual phone itself (hardware)? Do these different versions of Android work any better on other phones like HTC, Samsung, etc or are there just as many bugs/hangs/freezes?For now I think I'm sticking with 2.1. I like my Defy but I'm not convinced I should buy a Motorola product again unless the Google takeover drastically improves their customer services and product support, especially after-sales.

I am undecided between these two phones.I currently have a Nokia E71 but would like a bigger screen and bigger keyboard.My priorities are a good imap idle email client (I don't mind paying for Profimail), sync with google calendar and managing contact groups. I don't care about facebook integration, camera etc.It seems both phones would meet my requirements; other than size (the Milestone has a bigger screen but is thinner) what would you say are the main differences, pros and cons of the two phones, and of Symbian S60 5th edition vs Android 2 in general?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI wasnt able to start the market app for 5 days on the phone because the account that was tied to my Milestone was deleted from my Google Apps domain. You have to wait 5 days to reinstate an account with the same name.
So... 5 days later, I can bring up the market app, and search, but when I try to download I get a generic "Download of xxxxxxxx was unsuccessful, try again later". Anyone else having issues? Anyone have any ideas? From what I can tell everything else seems to be ok. I can get mail from my domain account and my gmail account as well as my exchange account.
I get this error with wifi on, wifi off, free apps, paid apps..... I have been able to download them before. If I look in the markets at "downloads", the only thing it shows I have downloaded in Google Maps, but I have download about 8 other apps.
Just wondering what version of Android is the Telus Milestone shipping with? Is is 1.6 Donut or 2.1 Éclair ?

"failed to verify whole-file signature"..The file is named update.zip (yes, i'm 100% sure it's not update. zip. zip).The file is in the root of the sd card. I can't figure out what's going wrong here.
