Motorola Zumocast :: Is The Data Transfer Between The Devices Encrypted
Sep 12, 2011
I have installed ZumoCast on my Droid Bionic and on my Windows7 PC.Is the data transfer between the devices encrypted? If so, how strong is the encryption key? (128-bit, 256-bit, other?)
Is it possible for me to transfer data from my old device which is saved on my laptop?I no longer have the old device because it was stolen but I do have a back up saved.I have tried to use the switch devices option but I keep getting a message that says,
I'm tasked with developing an iPhone app whose first bit of functionality is to connect to a bluetooth transmitting device (our company product), receive data from that device, and use that data to do other important things.
Bullet points: - search for bluetooth device - connect to bluetooth device - receive data only from the device
I just bought an atrix 2 and have downloaded zumocast on it and my computer. My phone says my computer is online. When I click on my PC on the home menu of zumocast app a message appears labeled "resource error" 'my pc name' could not be opened because there was an error retrieving the data from the server. Please try again."After I click ok I can go to my music tab and see all the available music but cannot download it.When I click on a song and choose download,a message appears " resource unavailable" 'song title' could not be opened because the server 'pc name' is not connected." I've tried setting my IE security to the lowest and it still wont work.I've also gone into mafee and turned netgaurd off for zumocast and still the same errors.I've also turned the firewall protection all the way off and it still doesnt work. How do I get zumocast to work?
I have a large music library and it seems that I can't access all of it from the Music tab on the zumocast app (phone and desktop). If I go to files, I see and can play all of the songs, but not from the music tab. It's annying because it's easier to navigate via the Music tab (albums, artists, etc.)
I have Mac Osx 10.5.8 and i downloaded it, installed it and did the initial settings but then it crashed and everytime I try to open it, after about 3 seconds. i restarted by computer, reinstalled it twice, i have no idea whats wrong! it works fine on my droid 3, just not my mac.
I have a Black Armour Net Drive attached directly to my home router. Is there a way to get ZumoCast to access that drive without having to go through my home computer?
I know there are other software that may help to retrive the data but it doesn't work with encrypted backup. Now i have the password, i have the encrypted backup (failed to recover in itunes). What can i do? is it possible to remove the password from the encrypted backup provided that i have the password?
Since installing a new Netgear 7550 modem/router from AT&T, I have been having trouble with the WiFi on my Verizon Razr. I can connect to the network and browse just fine for a while, but eventually the WiFi indicator changes from blue to grey and no apps will load data. This includes not being able to load webpages. I also notice that once the icon goes grey, only the upward pointing triangle within the WiFi indicator comes on. Of course restarting the phone or rebooting the router restores the connection for a time, but eventually it drops again. Once the icon turns grey I get the following from the settings menu:
Status
Connected
Signal strength
Excellent
Link speed
72Mbps
Secruity
WPA/WPA2 PSK
IP address
192.168.1.xxx (the last three numbers never seem to change)
I have a COC account attached to my Game Center and now my cousin is giving me his COC account and I want to play his. The problem is that I could not get his COC account onto my iPhone even if I download the game and log in game center using his apple ID. I still get my game version.
Been waiting for the encrypted filesystem support so that the Pro would meet requirements for corporate email since I got my Pro in Dec. Upgraded to 3.8.7 when it came out, and turned on device and SD encryption. (OK, the oddities came out a questions. But these are more rhetorical - not really needing an answer)Why per-file encryption and not device encryption? Why leave old files or those copied from PC unencrypted, and only encrypt new files created on the phone?Given the mix of encrypted and unencrypted files, why no method for seeing their state or converting to/from encryption? Why encrypt files but retain the original filename, so you can't tell by looking at a file in the filesystem whether it has been encrypted or not?Seems like a pretty marginal half-a$%ed encryption implementation. How do I access a decrypted copy of the files from the PC USB interface? USB Mass Storage mode mounts the sd card with a drive letter, and lets me see the files, but in their encrypted form. It basically mounts the SD card as a 'dumb' usb drive. (If you view a '.txt' file, you see the encrypted binary)
USB PC Mode makes the droid look like a music player to the PC - you see a 'droid' device which has media syncing and such. I believe that this show the unencrypted view of the files, since it is being interpreted and exported through the OS (wow, that was a horrible explanation). BUT, PC Mode only appears to show certain media file types (mp3, jpeg, etc) and their associated directories, so most of the directories and files are totally inaccessible. (even renaming junk.xls to junk.jpeg and putting it in the 'downloads' directory does not seem to work).Dropbox, or email, or some other indirect solution is not acceptable, since the whole idea of encryption is to keep my unencrypted files out of the porous cloud. Plus, it would be annoying and awkward.
Does the Droid use a standard encryption algorithm like AES/256, and can we get/find/see the encryption key on the phone, such that I could use USB Mass Storage mode and a PC-side decrypter with that key to see the file?Alternatively, is there a way to make USB PC Mode show other files types and directories? Hypothesize it could be a rooted phone and I am totally comfortable poking around the linux underpinnings of the phone.
My friend has the aforementioned router. I can connect but get no data transfer. My tablet and my friends phones HTC incredible and og droid work just fine. We've done all the general troubleshooting and installed all updates still same problem a full connection but no data. I should note that my wifi works flawlessly in all other locations work home parents other friends etc.
So I've been playing Clash Of Clans for years now, and I had a village on my old iPhone 4 which was shared with my iPad and set up with an old game centre account. Unfortunately, that account no longer exists, and I wanted to put the village on my new iPhone 5s. The village is on my iPad, but I can't sync the data between devices as they have different game centre IDs, one of which is no longer existingÂ
I am using Gingerbread's encryption feature. I took a bunch of photos on vacation, went to transfer them to my computer via USB cable, and was dismayed to find they came across as "unknown files". They had the correct name and jpg extension, but I couldn't view the photos. This is only true of photos I have taken since encrypting the device. tried disabling the encryption feature, and doing it again, with the same result. What am I doing wrong? How can I view my own files, while still using encryption? Also, where is the encryption feature documentation located?
transferring data through Bluetooth from other devices to blackberry even though the two devices are paired. when doing the transfer from the blackberry to the other devices, it works but not the other way round?
I have entered medical ID info and shared apps links into the Health app on my iPhone 6 (iOS 8.1.1). I am using an iPhone 5s (iOS 8.1.1) to gather sleep data and am sharing it with the Health app. When I open the Health app on that phone (same Apple ID as iPhone 6) none of the data from other apps and medical ID are present on that phone. Is this working as designed, or is there a switch somewhere that will allow me to have one dataset for the Health app across all devices logged in with my Apple ID?
For most of the time I've had my Atrix, I haven't used encryption. I don't even think it was an option. After the last update, I started using the option to encrypt user data and files stored to my SD card. My Atrix has had a lot of programs force closing lately, so I did a hard reset. All my user data was intact after the reset, but I can't open any of my photos that were encrypted. I've tried setting my password to the same as it was before, but I still can't access the files. Is there anything I can do to get my photos?
Although I have successfully paired my blackberry with other phones, I still cannot send or receive data via bluetooth. It keeps saying cannot connect. What might the reason be? Anyone has this problem before? Have you successfully sorted it out?
I copied 7zip encrypted files to my external SD card using my laptop and then encrypted the SD card with the Razr M's FIPS compliant encryption engine and now I'm unable to open the 7zip encrypted files. I keep getting "Cannot open file as an archive" error, no mater what program I'm using.
I know just connect the data cable to computer and transfer data but when i connect data cable to computer it does not show any thing on the computer and not even on the phone.so how should i make my phone able to transfer data to pc.
I have a SM-G900F (no carrier) European S5, bought like a couple months ago, not rooted or installed any custom rom, full stock on 5.0.
When I enable Mobile Hotspot or share the connection through USB, the other devices connect just fine, but no data is received at all.
* Tested with both a laptop and another phone * To rule out carrier restrictions, I put the SIM in a Nexus4 and enabled Wifi tethering, then connected to it with the S5, works np, just not the other way around.
I have installed ZumoCast on my Vista PC and have been able to access it from my Droid 3. How do I add other PC's to my server list??? I have looked all through the FAQ and can not find any instructions.
I keep getting the message, " The latest zumocast desktop client does not work with your iOS ZumoCast applicayion at this time. Please continue to check back for updates" what do I do?
hen I click on Zumocast icon, it says the app is not installed. Where can I download it for the Bionic? The only device I see that supports it on Motorola site is the Droid 3
I installed the windows verson, it installed and loaded just fine. but when I open it I see the icon in the icon try for like 5 seconds then its gone. I have installed the lastest java, disabled antivirus, unistalled, restarted computer and reinstalled. Still has not worked.
My phone is a Moto Droid 3.I turn on ZC, but after a while it just turns off. By itself.I've turned the screensaver OFF, the energy saver OFF, and hit the ZC setting "Never go to sleep." My computer does NOT go to sleep, and yet, ZC still closes, by itself. If it helps, I have an iMac.This is preventing me from actually being able to use ZC.
