Motorola Defy :: Charging Battery And Mounting SD Card With USB On Linux Computer
May 11, 2011
I have a computer with OS Mandriva Linux Free 2010. When I connect my Defy with the usb cable to the computer, phone display switch on, but usb-notifier in the top of it do not appear and charging is not starting.
I have had this happen a few times. I have a custom ringtone for my Alarm Clock. I put it in a folder on the SD Card: media/alarms. When I hook up the phone through USB to organize or add/delete files using a computer, the next morning my alarm clock has defaulted to an on-phone ringtone. I was used to my sounds being different while I have the SD card actively unmounted, but the settings were always maintained when I returned.
i brought a xperia active 2 days ago,but haveing issues connecting a sd card to it (the original supplied in phone, plus 2 others...) have tried reseting(return to factory, loose all data reset aswell), restarting and what not but dont know what else to do?
I have a problem with my Motorola Defy. is almost new, and the battery is charging only 84%. On the forum I read that I need to flash new firmware. My version is 4.5.1_128 (UK). Where can I download the official software for my phone to flash by RSD Lite?
I just stumbled across this program today called anyRemote.A pretty nifty piece of software you install on your Linux computer, and an equivalent jar file for your J2ME enabled phone.Check it out at http://anyremote.sourceforge.net/ If you're using Ubuntu, you can find anyRemote in Software Center. I got it working with my SE Aino. You're presented with 12 icons on the screen, which you can press using the 12 numeric keys - or use touch if the phone supports touch, like Aino does. The 12 icons are defined in a default configuration file for each program you can control. You can edit this configuration file to define other controls as you like.
I changed a setting on my new Defy last night and now wish to change it back but for the life of me I can't remember how I did it! I selected that I didn't want the screen to turn off whilst charging - but now I want it to switch off. Where do I go to find this setting again??
I am having an Xperia X10 mini. I had updated it to the latest 2.1 update a month back. All my contacts, settings etc were backed up in my 2GB SD card (which came along with the phone) using the back up and restore software within the phone. Recently my phone's earspeaker was not functioning and i took it to the service centre for repair( it was within the warranty period) where they removed the SD card without unmounting and gave it to me. After the repair when i inserted my Sd card it wont work. My phone says "SD card removed. Insert a new one." It would recognise any other card except mine. it is not working on my computer either (computer doesn't recognise it at all). I have all my Contacts and other files in it.
Both my wife and I have Defy's owned for 4 months and upgraded to Froyo 2.2 some weeks ago.both working normally. Then yesterday my phone, for no obvious reason, came up with the message "Invalid Battery.Your device battery is invalid and cannot be charged. Replace the battery with an origional motorola battery." Also the battery symbol at top right of display is black, not green, and has a? mark in it. I have checked my battery, which came with the phone, and it is official Motorola with hologram. So is my wifes.I tried swapping the batteries and while my battery works perfectly in her phone, her battery in my phone gives the same errors.I then tried a master reset....Twice! Both successful, wiping all my data, and requiring me to set up the phone again, but problem still remains.
I charge my Defy when I go to bed. When I hit the power button first thing in the morning, the phone response to touch, click, etc.is all slowed down. This goes away when I turn off the phone and turn it back on, but I'm lazy and don't want to reboot every day. (I normally reboot every 3-5 days)
Over the last week my Defy started rebooting itself every night during charging (so that I had to input the sim card PIN every morning) and also had periods of very bad general slowdowns. I mentioned this to a friend who advised that I should power off my phone and then remove the sim card and SD memory card and clean them with a dry cloth. This has fixed my Defy which is now working perfectly again.
I'm running Froyo on the DEFY. The issue is that the phone freezes while charging. The screen and the softkeys are inactive whereas the power button still functions correctly. It automatically opens/touches whatever is at the middle of the screen. I tried charging with a blackberry charger, and faced the same problem. But when I tried my brother's Samsung charger it worked just fine. And these were at different power outlets. So is it an issue with the charging unit?
I just bought a N97 mini and it seems that when it is in power saver mode, the battery went from 4 bars to 0? I was shocked that I couldn't even turn it on in the morning. It's a real bummer when I have to leave the house and I realise my phone died overnight. Is this normal? Is there any way to save energy when I leave the phone in that mode at night? I'm very sure I have turned off all Wifi and Wlan and Bluetooth settings. Also, I believe my wall charger is faulty. There is no white light when plugged in. (Another bummer, when I returned home and realise my phone has not been charging the whole time I was out.) However, when I use the usb on my computer it works just fine.
my phone keeps resetting after i got a new 16 gig sd card, is it a falty sd card or is it my phone, the phone keeps reseting while it's trying to read the sd card data but it works fine on my pc.
I have a MB525 Defy, and when I try to install a apk from the SD card, it attempts to install, but then comes back with an error - 'Application not installed'
I got a new sd card for my phone for Christmas. I'm wondering if there are any tips or tricks for installing it. It's a 32gb card. Do I need to prep the card, or transfer files to it on my PC before inserting it in the phone? Do I need to format it?
So, I got this new Motorola Defy less than a week ago. Recently, the phone died and now that it's connected to the charger, it doesn't seem to be charging. After leaving it on the charger for 8 hours, it still read 0% and I couldn't turn it it. I've taken it out, had it plugged in without the battery, put it back in, just about everything you can do with it without taking anything apart.
So I love my Defy (still running 2.1) and have had no problems since I got it in January. I took some amazing pictures of the sunset last night and my camera and gallery both worked fine. I went to show them off this morning and all of my pictures and videos are gone! There are some random pictures of what look like arrows from internet pages, but nothing I had every seen before. I went to the TMO store and they put my sd card in another phone but they still weren't there. I am phone-stupid when it comes to this kind of stuff, but I know for a fact I did not delete them or do anything that could have deleted them. What's weird is everything else on my sd card like music and files are still there, and my homescreen still has my picture that was in the gallery Asoftech Photo Recovery, but as a single mom nursing student, $30 is hard to come by at the moment. I would use a free program but I don't know which ones are safe.
i did format my card 1-2 times...but after formate only 3-4 days it will fine but after that i m also faced same problem.. my camera click images not showing in gallery...even after some days when i was on my cell.. i got a msg in notifivation that ur sd card damaged u hve to formate...then i had go to my p.c nd connected my cell phone to p.c then i mount my sd card to my pc..nd go to that drive -> properties->tools->scan my sd card for error..my p.c search error nd make my card to use again....but after 2-3 days same problem was occur again..images gone , sd card damaged nd all....why this is happend.. i have 8gb sd card class 10 , transcend..
