Sep 29, 2011I charge my Defy when I go to bed. When I hit the power button first thing in the morning, the phone response to touch, click, etc.is all slowed down. Sep 4, 2011Over the last week my Defy started rebooting itself every night during charging (so that I had to input the sim card PIN every morning) and also had periods of very bad general slowdowns. I mentioned this to a friend who advised that I should power off my phone and then remove the sim card and SD memory card and clean them with a dry cloth.This has fixed my Defy which is now working perfectly again.

Jul 10, 2011I'm running Froyo on the DEFY. The issue is that the phone freezes while charging. The screen and the softkeys are inactive whereas the power button still functions correctly. It automatically opens/touches whatever is at the middle of the screen. I tried charging with a blackberry charger, and faced the same problem. But when I tried my brother's Samsung charger it worked just fine. And these were at different power outlets. So is it an issue with the charging unit?

Sep 4, 2011I have had my defy now for a few months, and I have been pretty happy with it (babyproof smartphone!)Unfortunately, its becoming more and more unreliable, and am having to reboot it regularly.This weekend is the worst. Here are some of the things it is doing:
all apps keep freezing and crashing (no fancy apps, mostly use it for twitter, facebook etc).phone keeps freezing and being unresponsible on the home screen keep getting an 'emergency calls only' notification, which then clears straight away when i go into notifications.mms photos - both sent and received take up to 5 days to be visible. until then they are just flagged as 'downloading'. I'm pretty sure it shouldn't take 5 days to download a 27kb file.After rebooting, I did have a gmail widget require a forced close immediately. I was never using that widget anyway, and couldn't see it, so I uninstalled it. Now on rebooting I have to force close Google Services Framework. I have decided that looks reasonably important and useful and have declined to uninstall that so far.

Aug 3, 2011I just updated last week to Gingerbread but this was happening before that. I plug my phone into my factory charger and when I go to unplug it it says it is still charging. Dosent go away until I reboot the phone, any ideas? When it is fully charged the green led even stays lit. Dosent do it all the time just enough to be annoying. I really dont want to trade my phone for a reconditioned one since it is only three weeks old.

Nov 22, 2012My phone was having restarting issues before the ICS update, it was happening every other day or so but when the ICS update came through it appeared that my phone was fine.
In the last week and a half or so all of a sudden it would start suddenly resetting, 4 times in the middle of calls that I can remember definitely and 3 or 4 times while it was sitting on the counter charging (once multiple times in a row). May 28, 2011I get in my car, where my car stereo has already been paired with my droid X2. The phone and the data both connect most of the time on it's own, sometimes I have to go into teh settings and tell it to connect. The main issue is, I will open an application I use to play audiobooks (Ambling) and start an audio book, which works fine. However, 90% of the time when I turn the screen off the phone will then proceed to restart. It will continue this behaviour until I shut down and power back on the phone, at which point everything works just fine. However as soon as leave my car, go into work or the store or whatever, and come back out to my car the chances are high I'll have to go through it again.

Dec 29, 2011Unfortunately, now it won't turn on. It gets as far as checking SD card, then the screen shuts off and won't come back on. I tried going into safe mode but there it just hangs on the Droid Eye screen and never gets past it. I tried clearing the cache to see if something had gone wrong there, and the problem persists. Am I right to assume this is merely an SD Card corruption issue?
