I have a my Defy & XT and as of 9:22 am the weather widget hasn't udated and I've turned the phone off and on etc and then I deleted my location and tried to readd it and it said something like.. location information cannot be found (not sure off hand).. I don't know what to do but it won't let me add any loactions but apps from the market work.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI installed a emergency call widget on my phone, but when I press on it, instead of dialing the 911 number, the cell gives me all the phone numbers in my contacts that have the "911" sequence in it. Then I must choose between those the one I want to call. How can I bypass that and have it dialing right away 911?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMain screen > 2sec taphold > stock Motorola widget > Date and time > Clock style > drop down option show analogue & digital - can't see the digital or analogue clocks options. Could see the different clocks in 2.1 and then select. But not in 2.2.2. You just select digital and see if it appears on the screen after stepping out of this settingsBut despite selecting digital, after revisiting the settings box, it still shows analogue - it should show digital since I selected digitalOn the screen the digital time & date widget shows up with time (top part: time side is ok) but with date (bottom part), this part shows the entire calendar with the highlight on present date. Funny aspect is that earlier at the first ever initial time I selected this widget, it showed up with the date i.e., with bigger matching font size to time (top: time , bottom: date) but later it stuck to the entire month-calendar format as mentioned above. After this the widget screen size also remained unchangeable. This widget can't be resized. It could be resized in 2.1 with your format in mind.
Its stuck on this:I just want to see the date and time (3:44pm 15 Nov Mon) and not the entire month-calendar ... ideally this should go away once the widget is resized.Its quite surprising to see 2.2 behave so .. for a lack of better word .. buggish. I did the bit where you switch off the phone, remove the battery and fit it back and restart, but this didn't do much.Update:Got this widget to resize by fluke when I tried to insert another application on the home screen and so I have managed to at least get the widget to become smaller, albeit in the 'vertical stack' form. That means this widget gets resized only when another application's insert 'forces' it to resize but only in this form .. something is better than nothing I guess BUT AM LOOKING FOR THIS WIDTH & 'HORIZONTAL' FIT AS PER THE PIC BELOW [was easily possible in the stock Android 2.1]ndo Screen-Lock:I was able to undo the screen-lock in 2.1 ... any advice on how I can get the Defy to open straight on the home menu screen without having to go thru the 'unlock screen swipe' in 2.2.2?
This just started happening after the upgrade to froyo. I get a lot of texts from one person, and they were always displayed in the messaging widget before the upgrade. Now they only appear in the notification bar. Have tried deleting the conversation to start over but no change.

Currently there lots of tears in internets about SN-Widget and how bad/random its synching with Facebook, there also some workarounds but i would love to get an answer from any Officials.My workaround: was uninstalling the update for Social Networks app and after reboot its synched my FB stuff perfectly, but when Blur-updater(see task-manager) installed it again the widget stopped synching anything from FB.Its works also random with Twitter - actualy its shows you your status update but not the tweets you fallow.

I swear on my 2.1 Spice XT300, the auto-retrieval was by email address (and also the smallest interval between fetches was 5 minutes, not 15 like on the Defy). I have never used 2.1 on the Defy; mine was original 2.2.1.

Tried to update again via Motorola website but it now tells me that there are no updates for my phone.....I presume that it somehow detects that my phone previously downloaded froyo update.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had my defy now for a few months, and I have been pretty happy with it (babyproof smartphone!)Unfortunately, its becoming more and more unreliable, and am having to reboot it regularly.This weekend is the worst. Here are some of the things it is doing:
all apps keep freezing and crashing (no fancy apps, mostly use it for twitter, facebook etc).phone keeps freezing and being unresponsible on the home screen keep getting an 'emergency calls only' notification, which then clears straight away when i go into notifications.mms photos - both sent and received take up to 5 days to be visible. until then they are just flagged as 'downloading'. I'm pretty sure it shouldn't take 5 days to download a 27kb file.After rebooting, I did have a gmail widget require a forced close immediately. I was never using that widget anyway, and couldn't see it, so I uninstalled it. Now on rebooting I have to force close Google Services Framework. I have decided that looks reasonably important and useful and have declined to uninstall that so far.
I have an s6 and the factory installed 4x1 clock/weather app no longer works. The clock still keeps time, but the weather icon on the right hand side does not show the current weather, will not update, nor will it allow me to touch the widget and enter into the settings/different cities. It was working fine up until about a week ago. I've tried restarting my phone and removing/re-positioning the widget, but no luck. It can't be uninstalled as it came with OS.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a Motorola Defy (not blur though as it is the global version) running on Moto approved Android 2.2. I am really struggling. My Gmail app simply wont do push delivery. It takes like 40 - 60 minutes to receive my email. I have tried everything now. I have removed my gmail account and added it again. My background data is enabled and my battery and data saver is switched off. I have tried using the "Email" app but it does the same thing.
It is not my carrier as my internet is working perfectly. [URL]
I am getting rather dishearted as my gmail used to work great on my blackberry (phone before I got my Defy) and now this just seems like such a let down. In general I am loving my Defy..but the email is turning out to be a big dissapointment.
I just installed the update on my phone and now the camera is not working correctly. It will takes a photo but the photo will not show up on the screen - it's just black. The camcorder function works fine.

View 1 Replies View RelatedOk so after having to replace the earpiece under warranty I thought would risk another outage to my Defy. It was bought sim-free and I use my work SIM in it from Vodafone. So ran through the upgrade, and it worked first time ... until wifi. Wifi does not connect or rather from what I can determine I cannot actually obtain an IP address. For it to actually connect to the hub I have to force the settings to toggle the "Enable Auto IP" setting and manually set the channel to the same as my hub. (not had to do that with any other phone ... ) by the way, this still does not give me a data connectionAlso tried setting a static IP address and related settings and that does not work either Did a factory reset as recommended on the other pages - no avail.My hub runs WPA/WPA2 and I have a variety of devices connecting to it, trouble free, including 2 other Android 2.2 phones (HTC Desire Z and LG Optimus One), Windows XP, Windows 7, PS3 etc etc ... oh and once I had a Defy running 2.1 Eclair connecting trouble free?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy camera and camcorder don't work, I take a photo with the camera and it does all the right things but does not save the image, the camcorder pushes you out of the camcorder screen when you push the record button and back to the home screen, I have tried to clear the Cache data under phone settings. If I turn the phone off and on again it works fine for a little bit but I shouldn't have to do this everytime I want to take a photo or movie.

I can pair and connect my wife's Samsung Galaxy phone and use the Mercedes hands free system to make and receive phone calls. However my Defy pairs Ok but does not connect continuously. It will occasionally connect when I force it but it only stays connected for a few seconds. The Defy is running 2.2OS. The MB2 supplier in Australia and manufacturer in Taiwan both state that the MB2 has been previously tested with a Defy and works OK.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI got a notification to update my phone, so I downloaded the update and installed it, all good so far, but now that I have tried to use my camera the flash isnt working in sync with the shutter. The flash goes off too soon and the pictures turn out too dark, now I have checked what settings I could think of including the auto flash and etc, but it refuses to flash at the right time! I have noticed other differences with the update but I can get used to those.. not a big drama, but I really liked my camera the way it used to be... but in saying that I would prefer not to master reset as the other changes are ok.

The symptom is incoming calls vibrate, but don't ring. If I check the ringtone by selecting a different tone, it plays Ok. Volume is fine also, set for independent control for incoming volume and phone ring. I have tried power cycling, removing the battery, checking my settings, and calling from different numbers (different ring tones).
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've recently traveled overseas and had the weather widget on my homescreen. It updated sucessfully via wifi while I was there. When I've returned to the states, however, my widget still says the foreign city, the dates for the weather are the dates of my travel and it won't update.
In addition, if I try to add any city, it says "Can't add new city now. Try again later." This happens over both the data connection and wifi. I've done everything but a factory reset, including rebooting and removing & re-adding the widget.
how often or when the out-of-the-box weather widget updates on the Atrix 2? Can't seem to find it anywhere in the settings, or any information on it...
