Oct 16, 2011Today morning i checked my Motorola Defy and found out that the one of the 4 standard touch semsitive button which is the menu button does not have any lights.

Motorola Defy :: Weather Widget Not Working Right On DEFY & XT
Aug 2, 2011I have a my Defy & XT and as of 9:22 am the weather widget hasn't udated and I've turned the phone off and on etc and then I deleted my location and tried to readd it and it said something like.. location information cannot be found (not sure off hand).. I don't know what to do but it won't let me add any loactions but apps from the market work.

Oct 25, 2011Yes, I am the one who likes to photo herself with a mobile phone (and not to post in anywhere on the web, yeah, not even a facebook)
and, sincerely, it is really difficult to take picture of oneself if a camera button is ON the touch screen, it is tricky and 7/10 times I accidentaly press something elese and not the camera button, and it just takes me to the side menu.
Is it possible to take on/off button or zoom/volume button (the only physical buttons on the phone) and reassign one of them to be a camera button?
during the underwater photography as well. I have Defy, non US, retail en DE firmware 2.2.2

Jul 15, 2011I have a Motorola Defy (not blur though as it is the global version) running on Moto approved Android 2.2. I am really struggling. My Gmail app simply wont do push delivery. It takes like 40 - 60 minutes to receive my email. I have tried everything now. I have removed my gmail account and added it again. My background data is enabled and my battery and data saver is switched off. I have tried using the "Email" app but it does the same thing.
It is not my carrier as my internet is working perfectly. [URL]
I am getting rather dishearted as my gmail used to work great on my blackberry (phone before I got my Defy) and now this just seems like such a let down. In general I am loving my Defy..but the email is turning out to be a big dissapointment.

Motorola Defy :: Wifi Not Working After UK Froyo Upgrade?
Jun 15, 2011Ok so after having to replace the earpiece under warranty I thought would risk another outage to my Defy. It was bought sim-free and I use my work SIM in it from Vodafone. So ran through the upgrade, and it worked first time ... until wifi. Wifi does not connect or rather from what I can determine I cannot actually obtain an IP address. For it to actually connect to the hub I have to force the settings to toggle the "Enable Auto IP" setting and manually set the channel to the same as my hub. (not had to do that with any other phone ... ) by the way, this still does not give me a data connectionAlso tried setting a static IP address and related settings and that does not work either Did a factory reset as recommended on the other pages - no avail.My hub runs WPA/WPA2 and I have a variety of devices connecting to it, trouble free, including 2 other Android 2.2 phones (HTC Desire Z and LG Optimus One), Windows XP, Windows 7, PS3 etc etc ... oh and once I had a Defy running 2.1 Eclair connecting trouble free?

Nov 13, 2011My camera and camcorder don't work, I take a photo with the camera and it does all the right things but does not save the image, the camcorder pushes you out of the camcorder screen when you push the record button and back to the home screen, I have tried to clear the Cache data under phone settings. If I turn the phone off and on again it works fine for a little bit but I shouldn't have to do this everytime I want to take a photo or movie.

Mar 1, 2012I own a Mercedes 2008 E350 with ViseeO MB2 bluetooth adaptor. I can pair and connect my wife's Samsung Galaxy phone and use the Mercedes hands free system to make and receive phone calls. However my Defy pairs Ok but does not connect continuously. It will occasionally connect when I force it but it only stays connected for a few seconds. The Defy is running 2.2OS. The MB2 supplier in Australia and manufacturer in Taiwan both state that the MB2 has been previously tested with a Defy and works OK.

Jul 7, 2011I got a notification to update my phone, so I downloaded the update and installed it, all good so far, but now that I have tried to use my camera the flash isnt working in sync with the shutter. The flash goes off too soon and the pictures turn out too dark, now I have checked what settings I could think of including the auto flash and etc, but it refuses to flash at the right time! I have noticed other differences with the update but I can get used to those.. not a big drama, but I really liked my camera the way it used to be... but in saying that I would prefer not to master reset as the other changes are ok.

Sep 21, 2011I am running 2.1 and my phone ringer stopped working a few days. No changes to the phone, or new application, or physical damage. The symptom is incoming calls vibrate, but don't ring. If I check the ringtone by selecting a different tone, it plays Ok. Volume is fine also, set for independent control for incoming volume and phone ring. I have tried power cycling, removing the battery, checking my settings, and calling from different numbers (different ring tones).

Jan 26, 2010Odd thing I noticed last night with my n900, in that the shortcuts that I had on the desktop would no longer open the relevant app, so I could access Phone etc.When I deleted the shortcut and went to re-add it, the Phone (and Contacts, Conversation, Clock, Photos etc) all had 2 entries for shortcuts. One of which opens the app, and the other does nothing.I've now gone through and replaced each one with the one that works, but I have no idea what caused this. Dec 2, 2011setting up auto-fetching applies to all email accounts. I swear on my 2.1 Spice XT300, the auto-retrieval was by email address (and also the smallest interval between fetches was 5 minutes, not 15 like on the Defy). I have never used 2.1 on the Defy; mine was original 2.2.1.

Sep 4, 2011I have had my defy now for a few months, and I have been pretty happy with it (babyproof smartphone!)Unfortunately, its becoming more and more unreliable, and am having to reboot it regularly.This weekend is the worst. Here are some of the things it is doing:
all apps keep freezing and crashing (no fancy apps, mostly use it for twitter, facebook etc).phone keeps freezing and being unresponsible on the home screen keep getting an 'emergency calls only' notification, which then clears straight away when i go into notifications.mms photos - both sent and received take up to 5 days to be visible. until then they are just flagged as 'downloading'. I'm pretty sure it shouldn't take 5 days to download a 27kb file.After rebooting, I did have a gmail widget require a forced close immediately. I was never using that widget anyway, and couldn't see it, so I uninstalled it. Now on rebooting I have to force close Google Services Framework. I have decided that looks reasonably important and useful and have declined to uninstall that so far.

Feb 18, 2012I wake up this morning and had a friend chirp me on the PTT (he still has iden) and I push the button to chirp him back and nothing. He chirps me back to see if I am still there, I try again and its like I don't have PTT at all. I ended up calling him back to finish the conversation. I try making a PTT convo an it doesn't even show the "call log" that I set it up to show when I push the button. I reboot the phone and 'POOF' its back. I do understand its a new phone and might still have bugs but come next month I am gonna need that part of the phone for business and if that doesn't work then I have to switch back to 8350i...
