I have a Motorola Defy (not blur though as it is the global version) running on Moto approved Android 2.2. I am really struggling. My Gmail app simply wont do push delivery. It takes like 40 - 60 minutes to receive my email. I have tried everything now. I have removed my gmail account and added it again. My background data is enabled and my battery and data saver is switched off. I have tried using the "Email" app but it does the same thing.
It is not my carrier as my internet is working perfectly. [URL]
I am getting rather dishearted as my gmail used to work great on my blackberry (phone before I got my Defy) and now this just seems like such a let down. In general I am loving my Defy..but the email is turning out to be a big dissapointment.
Has anyone had issues with the gmail push today using google sync? My phone keeps asking for my password and I put it in but tells me it is invalid. Now if I use my other gmail account (regular one through the iphone mail) I can get my mail perfectly fine. I tried deleting the account and making a new one but it gives me the same error. Any help would be great.
I may have stopped "google framwork services" last week, but I do not think this is related.Basically, my gmail app no longer gets push notifications or syncs automatically.I have android 5.0.1. nexus 5 and the latest gmail app versions. I have checked all settings in the app, and made sure that all my sync settings are enabled. I can see that the last sync of gmail was over 30 minutes ago, yet I've sent emails to my gmail account since then and they appear on the web version. The app won;t show new emails until I manually refresh within the app.
I googled a bit and saw that some people with a similar issue dod a "factory reset" to solve. that seems a bit extreme. Is there any other way around this. I've done all the usual things, cleared data in gmail app and forced stop and restarted phone.I even removed my google account and readded it. nothing worked.
I have a my Defy & XT and as of 9:22 am the weather widget hasn't udated and I've turned the phone off and on etc and then I deleted my location and tried to readd it and it said something like.. location information cannot be found (not sure off hand).. I don't know what to do but it won't let me add any loactions but apps from the market work.
Does the native HTC Mail app in Sense UI, push gmail? Or any other IMAP connections that support the IDLE command? Or does only the native gmail app push gmail? I ask, because I have multiple email accounts on my phone, gmail, hotmail, etc.. gmail is on the native gmail app, which is currently pushing... but the others are in the HTC Mail app.
I'd rather have 1 app for everything, instead of bouncing between.. IMAP is IMAP.. which the HTC Mail app supports (for moving to and from folders).. but if it doesn't push using the IDLE command (like gmail app does).. then I'm stuck where I am.
When we add a contact to the phone why it is not synchronized with the gmail account? How to do this?According to my understanding the synchronization happens in only one way. when we update any phone numbers in the gmail account then we can synchronize the contact information to our phone. suppose if I add a contact to my phone why it is not synchronizing with the gmail account?I have lost a couple of contacts like this.Today One of my friend gave his number, Instead of adding it to the phone book of my mobile I added directly to the gmail account and then I synchornized with the phone then the contact came into my phone?
I have all the requisite settings correct set to push, data push turned on for accounts xxxx and yyyy, data enabled, background data enabled, data saver disabled.
I am using Nokia messaging on my E72 with my gmail account...is it normal that my gprs/umts connection remains always active to check new mail? I thought that Nokia messaging worked the same as blackberry smartphones, so my phone has to use gprs/umts connection only when nokia messaging server sends him a notification of an incoming mail...is is possibile to let e72 work this way?
I have Gmail pushed to my phone via Google's push instructions (exchange server).Because I want push notifications, I am in search of the best notification app.I have used Gpush in the past and it seemed to be decent. I then read that Push Gmail was better, so I made the switch and have been using it ever since. My experience with both of these apps has been that both are prone to outages (sometimes days/weeks long) and delays in pushing notifications to my phone. Is there a better app? Is there a way to do it without an app?
I wanted to know how to set up push email, on 3GS I had to do it through the exchange route to get push email with gmail. Is it the same now or can I do it through the gmail option when setting it up?Will it be better?I am asking because there used to be a delay with exchange so will this be better or will it not have push?
I'm using this blackberry without a data plan primarily for text and talk and do not need a data plan ( i know this means i can't use most apps.. i might get one later though ) but in the mean time how do i get gmail push notifications? right now i use the Browser to access my email, but is there an app i can use so i don't have to?
The GPS does not appear to be working on my Defy. I've tried using it with google maps and gps test, and I'm not getting any signal or active satellites.
I have tested the Defy+ Hot spot on 3 phones now and none are working. Previously had no problems with an HTC model. All updates are current. Anyone have any ideas as how I can get this to work. Was the major requirement of a smartphone for me.
can't get the Data push feature to work on my two GoDaddy IMAP email accounts. When I first turn on Data push, it appears not to change mode, and no test messages get transmitted until I force it to fetch. After power cycling, the accounts no longer receive any mail at all. The green "throbber" circle, at the upper left, next to the account name, never stops spinning, and no mail ever shows up. I do not receive any more mail until I turn of Data push and reboot the phone. K9 works perfectly, on the same two accounts, and receives new messages immediately. I would really like to use the native client so that I can take advantage of the Motoblur messaging widget, but timely arrival of mail messages takes precedence for me.
I have installed Nokia messaging on my nokia E72 and I have some problems setting my gmail account to work in push mode.
In particular, I would like that my gprs/umts internet connection doesn't stay always active.
When a new mail arrives to the server, server sends a notification to my E72, and E72 automatically connects to internet to download the new mail but after this, connections still remains active.
Is it possibile to turn off internet connection as soon as nokia messaging finishes to download new mail? I don't want connections remains always active as in blackberries smartphones, is it possibile or what I want is only a dream?
I have gmail setup on my 3GS via Exchange. There is an option to enable push notification on multiple folders + Inbox, but it doss not appear to be working. Each time I go to the Sent or All Mail folders, it only shows the last emails I downloaded the last time I opened the folder. The mail app then takes about 1-3 minutes to d/l the new messages. Is there some trick to enabling push in gmail folders?
Since updating, my iPhone 3GS with iOS 4.0 has been intermittently unable to move, send, or delete emails using my existing push gmail setup. If I restart the phone, the email might work for a few min, but shortly after that, it will stop allowing me to move, delete, or send messages (I get an error saying it can't move it, etc.)Any ideas? I guess I'll delete the account from the phone and redo it, but is this some sort or known bug?
For some reason today it is telling me my password is incorrect. I can set it up to fetch using the gmail server and it works fine. That's not an option because i NEED my Google calendar on my i phone to push... or at least update itself but that doesn't seem to work set up using gmail fetch.HELP.I know you can use an exchange account but it seems like it only works about 25% of the time. Of course I'm JB so I could have something conflicting.Either way, when the heck is google gonna support push? Never because they want Android to look better or what!Had anyone heard any info about this?
I setup my Gmail using the Gmail when in the "Add Acount.." screen and it does not push emails to my iPhone. Is there a way to setup Gmail so that it will push the email to my device as soon as an email arrived in my Gmail account?
I just installed the update on my phone and now the camera is not working correctly. It will takes a photo but the photo will not show up on the screen - it's just black. The camcorder function works fine.
Today morning i checked my Motorola Defy and found out that the one of the 4 standard touch semsitive button which is the menu button does not have any lights.
I am having problems using Visual Voicemail on my Defy.
I am using it through the 3G network and keep getting the Welcome to T-Mobile Visual Voicemail setup screen. When I press nex,t the following message appears "No response from server. Please make sure that you have connection to the data network and try again. I have the latest android version 2.2.1.
Our facility uses Exchange Server 2003, and I have not had problems with my Corporate Sync e-mail since receiving Froyo back in September. If I was sitting at my desk, I would consistently get a push notification on my phone a few seconds before I saw a new e-mail pop up on the Web Access client on my PC. It was great. All of a sudden, I am getting nothing. I missed several important e-mails over the weekend, and my phone will not show new messages unless I open the E-mail client and manually Refresh.
I have removed/re-added the Account a couple of times, but that doesn't seem to do any good. I have a colleague who has an Incredible, and his work e-mails are working just fine, so I wouldn't think it would be a problem with the Exchange server. The login/password aren't wrong, since I can Refresh and receive my new messages, but why would the push e-mail just halt? Are there known problems on the Blur servers? If so, is there a way we can find out about that without having to just miss a bunch of e-mails?
Been holding off posting because i thought Google might just be having a temporary slowdown.my gmail push on my phone is dead slow.it doesn't push, i have to use another application to get instant notifications (g push).it doesn't actually push.but worst, when i open the mail app to open a new mail message, it takes about 20-30 seconds to download and open a new message!every time!on wifi!any solutions?
how do you guys get push mail with Gmail? is using microsoft exchange the only workaround? if i use the gmail setup under mail accounts push doesnt work
I am currently using an iPhone 3Gs running 4.0.1. I am trying to get Gmail push email working. As far as I know Apple does not officially support this. Is there a way to get it working flawlessly?
I just noticed on my 1020, that I don't have an option to sync items as they arrive anymore; only 15 min, 30 min, hourly, 2 hours and manually. I've still got this option on my L920. How to get this back?
