Motorola Defy :: Calendar Not Syncing To Phone, But Phone To Calendar OK?
May 23, 2011I logged into another gmail account on my phone, I did without any problem, viewed/deleted some emails, and logged off. I then re-logged into my higher usage email (the main one I use on everything and the phone is registered with). I had the "Smooth Calender" app isntalled, but uninstalled that because the update happened around the email checking and it started acting goofy when I updated anyway.After I did that, I went to check my calender on my phone to schedule appointments and noticed that my calender is almost completely empty. I checked my calender online under the account email that I currently have it synced to and it is full like I have it. Now the situation is when I enter a calender event online it WILL NOT sync to my phone, nor has any of the repeat events synced.
When I enter an event in my phone, it syncs to the online calender AND to the phone with reminders and such if I set it up that way.I cleared the gmail cache on the phone (but did NOT clear data, didn't know if that is advisable), I checked to make sure the correct calenders are checked to sync. I also went to Settings > Account > 'Account in question' and made sure it was selected.I DO NOT see an auto sync feature anywhere on the phone, and I can't remember having checked it before and didn't have a problem with anything until I did the logging into and back out of my emails.What can I do, or need to do, to fix this? My calender is very important to me as I always have my phone on me and don't always have a paper calender on me.

Dec 6, 2011My phone has multiple resets ad the direction of Motorola, and has been in for a circuit board replacement.Now the screen still freezes and the reception is hopeless.I am sure this handset is a lemon.It is still under warranty, 11 months old.

Dec 2, 2011setting up auto-fetching applies to all email accounts. I swear on my 2.1 Spice XT300, the auto-retrieval was by email address (and also the smallest interval between fetches was 5 minutes, not 15 like on the Defy). I have never used 2.1 on the Defy; mine was original 2.2.1.

Sep 4, 2011I have had my defy now for a few months, and I have been pretty happy with it (babyproof smartphone!)Unfortunately, its becoming more and more unreliable, and am having to reboot it regularly.This weekend is the worst. Here are some of the things it is doing:
all apps keep freezing and crashing (no fancy apps, mostly use it for twitter, facebook etc).phone keeps freezing and being unresponsible on the home screen keep getting an 'emergency calls only' notification, which then clears straight away when i go into notifications.mms photos - both sent and received take up to 5 days to be visible. until then they are just flagged as 'downloading'. I'm pretty sure it shouldn't take 5 days to download a 27kb file.After rebooting, I did have a gmail widget require a forced close immediately. I was never using that widget anyway, and couldn't see it, so I uninstalled it. Now on rebooting I have to force close Google Services Framework. I have decided that looks reasonably important and useful and have declined to uninstall that so far.
Motorola Defy :: Weather Widget Not Working Right On DEFY & XT
Aug 2, 2011I have a my Defy & XT and as of 9:22 am the weather widget hasn't udated and I've turned the phone off and on etc and then I deleted my location and tried to readd it and it said something like.. location information cannot be found (not sure off hand).. I don't know what to do but it won't let me add any loactions but apps from the market work.

The phone says "can't use the calendar until you sync it..." Can't sync it, so therefore calendar is useless. My BB calendar was my lifeline to my appointments. I need to get that back!

Oct 10, 2011that my Defy is downlading data only over 3G though I have the WLAN connected. It starts its download with WLAN, and after 30 seconds, when the screen is off, it starts or continues the download over 3G and is eating my Data Package.
If I keep the Screen ON, from the Display settings, it uses the WLAN, but as soon as the screen is off it uses the 3G.

May 24, 2011I bought a car dock (TrailBlazer Advanced Pro Universal Car Charger and Holder [URL] for my Defy that goes into the cigarette lighter socket and the Defy sits in it and you can connect it to the power.Unfortunately the Defy doesn't charge when connected, and it often says to even unplug it! It makes no difference whether I have it connected or not because it eventually runs out of power and the battery is flat.Is there something I am doing wrong? I am also unsure how I did it but apparently there is a car dock mode for the Defy? I'm being a bit lazy and haven't read the manual on this but how exactly do you put it into car dock mode and will it charge when in this mode?
I am going to try and troubleshoot whether this is an issue with the Defy or Car Dock. I know it can't be the socket because I have a separate small 80w inverter and that will charge the Defy when connected to that with its main plug. Unfortunately I can't use the dock and the small inverter at the same time.I have also tried using both the small tip connector and the usb connector when plugging it into the Trailblazer holder/charger but it makes no difference it still runs out of ju ju. I think there has only been a couple of times out of ten or twenty attempts when I have managed to get it charging from the trailblazer - I'm not sure how I did it but that was after it had run out of juice and I still had no indication that it was charging or anything.

Jan 20, 2012Have rinsed it under water carefully a couple of times and each time there has gotten water behind the back cover where the optics for the camera is. No water where the battery is thank god.

Sep 3, 2011My Defy has suddenly stopped charging, neither does it notice when its connected to the PC.
However, when I power off the phone and then plug in the cable it notices, a little white light comes on and the phone powers up. So the USB port must work, at least a little bit.I also have a Desire and the same cables work with it, so I know that the PC and cables are working. There is defifinely something the matter with the Defy.
