My email was compromised and now I am drafting everything from that google mail account and moving to another. How can I change my motoblur login google email to another one?
View 1 Repliessetting up auto-fetching applies to all email accounts. I swear on my 2.1 Spice XT300, the auto-retrieval was by email address (and also the smallest interval between fetches was 5 minutes, not 15 like on the Defy). I have never used 2.1 on the Defy; mine was original 2.2.1.

Or if you don't use Motoblur, which home replacement do you use instead and why? I don't use MB. I use Go Launcher instead. I don't think MB is bad. It's just a matter of personal preference really, mainly because I prefer to have 5 icons in the dockbar and an drawer that scrolls horizontally page by page (how do you find what you want quickly vertically?). The other customisation options - 4x5 homescreens, 5x5 app drawer that can be rearranged, transitions and skins - are also great too.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've had my Defy for a little more than a year...but I'm "stranger in a strange land" here in the forum, mostly because I'm neither techie nor anything close to a power user. But I do not use any of the Motoblur junk...and don't even want it on the phone. The only time I'm aware of it is when I check the list of running apps and see how many of them are Motoblur related. I'd love to be able to delete them, if only to get rid of the power drain they represent. Yet I suspect that Motorola has them all pretty much "hard wired" into the phone. Or is there some sort of less obvious, less intuitive way to get rid of the Motoblur news, weather and other crap?

However, on the phone, if I 'check for system updates', it reports the software is up to date.
Since I have an issue with the software, I'd like to update it to check for a fix. I could probably use the USB updater, but is there some reason why the phone won't do it itself ?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI had recently purchased my first Android device, a Moto Defy+. This is not a carrier locked phone.
I use my gmail contacts as the default address book and when i signed up for Moto blur account, it somehow made a backup of all my gmail contacts on motoblur. Now, i can see the same contact details twice for every address book entry. During the backup process, motoblur deleted the leading zeros from all phone numbers. Even though gmail is my default address book, the phone picks up motoblur stored info while making calls - due to which I am now unable to make long distance calls from my phone unless i manually go and edit/delete the phone numbers from the motoblur section on the address book. needless to say, this is very irritating as i have over a 1000 contacts.
How do i delete all my contacts from the motoblur section? i do not really use the motoblur account for anything and if deleting the motoblur account is a solution, i'll be happy to do that. however, i do not want to do a factory setting restore.
how do you add hotmail (@hotmail.com) account to motoblur? i tried adding it as Email category and manually added POP3 and SMTP but still wont work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIt seems every time a contact on my twitter account changes its profile picture, Motoblur simply do not show it anymore neither on the widget or the Motoblur app that the widget calls. In place of the precedent picture I then get the gray generic anonymous shadow. I'm not sure it is froyo related, but it sure started after the upgrade. I can imagine the issue coming from the Blur service on the servers and not from the phone itself.

Rebooting the phone will get everything to update. But then a few hours later it will stop and I'll have to reboot the phone again.I understand that rebooting the phone every so often is a good thing to do. But, I don't want to reboot it several times a day just to update this app.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have had my defy now for a few months, and I have been pretty happy with it (babyproof smartphone!)Unfortunately, its becoming more and more unreliable, and am having to reboot it regularly.This weekend is the worst. Here are some of the things it is doing:
all apps keep freezing and crashing (no fancy apps, mostly use it for twitter, facebook etc).phone keeps freezing and being unresponsible on the home screen keep getting an 'emergency calls only' notification, which then clears straight away when i go into notifications.mms photos - both sent and received take up to 5 days to be visible. until then they are just flagged as 'downloading'. I'm pretty sure it shouldn't take 5 days to download a 27kb file.After rebooting, I did have a gmail widget require a forced close immediately. I was never using that widget anyway, and couldn't see it, so I uninstalled it. Now on rebooting I have to force close Google Services Framework. I have decided that looks reasonably important and useful and have declined to uninstall that so far.
I have a my Defy & XT and as of 9:22 am the weather widget hasn't udated and I've turned the phone off and on etc and then I deleted my location and tried to readd it and it said something like.. location information cannot be found (not sure off hand).. I don't know what to do but it won't let me add any loactions but apps from the market work.

I've gone home and wanted to change my SIM card to the home one. Now MotoBlur wants me to put in the password and stuff. Did that and it says: "The phone radio is unable to connect to the network. Make sure the radio is on, or move into a better cover area". Same story when I put my UK (the orginal) SIM card in. Tried to connect to wifi, that won;t work either.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have just used the Email app that came with my Defy to send a message for the first time. The only trouble is that it didn't send. It is sat in the outbox not actually doing anything. what I can do about it to try and get it to send it? I just don't see much in the way of options.
I have looked at the settings for the different email accounts I have and that particular one all the settings for incoming and outgoing servers are correct and just the same as they are in outlook on my computer.
Yesterday I upgraded my Defy to Froyo 2.2.2 (from the Moto website). Everything is great except my phone beeps everytime I get an email. I have gone into email settings and changed it to silent, but it still plays the ringtone. If I change the ringtone for email notification, it changes and plays the one I select, except if I change it to silent, it plays the "Bells" ringtone, which I think is the default. I have tried turning the phone off and on, but it still rings. I am using the stock email app with 2 pop accounts and a Yahoo account, and it plays the ringtone for all of them.

Email, and Social messaging are set to a 'silent' ringtone whilst Text messaging has a ringtone assigned to it. But I still get the standard ringtone notification for Email & Social messaging.
I have 2 corporate sync accounts setup on my defy+ - but cannot work out how to view them both
Currently I have to go into settings and set one or the other as default to see the emails Or Wait for an email to come in, and go into it from the notifications. I used to have a Samsung Galaxy (Android 2.2), as that had an option for 'combined inbox'
Just updated to 2.2.2 (CEE) and everything works fine. Thanks guys from Motorola. I have only two questions:1) How can I disable haptic feedback on buttons under the LCD? In settings I have already disabled it, same problem I had on 2.1? Is there any possibility to hide email contacts from all contacts? For example something like "hide all contacts without phone number" like it was on my previous Android phone?
