Jun 7, 2011how do you add hotmail (@hotmail.com) account to motoblur? i tried adding it as Email category and manually added POP3 and SMTP but still wont work.

Jul 2, 2011Everytime I try and add my LinkedIn account in MotoBlur, I get an error message "Error, An error has occured. Please try again." I can login just fine online. Anyone know what may be causing this?

May 18, 2015I've had just about every Galaxy flagship phone in the Samsung series and am certainly not a stranger on setting up accounts.I have 2 hotmail.com email accounts, a business and personal. I tried setting up my personal entering details correctly and I get "authentication failed" ... I jump on a PC and CONFIRM the password I used was indeed correct. I tried setting up the account manually (POP3) which wasn't a problem, however the device has absolutely no interest trying to connect to my account and sync. It keeps telling me the OP3 server is not responding.
I have tried changing my password on the PC to something else. I then re-attempted the email set-up and received the same error...authentication failed. Now, google, gmail, yahoo, aol accounts (etc) ALL work fine. I decided to try the OTHER hotmail account...enter the details and BOOM. It worked. The device is running stock ROM and is rooted (problem also existed before root)

May 23, 2011I thought I'd start a thread so that we'd have something else to discuss as well besides the Froyo upgrade.What do you think Motorola should do to improve Motoblur on the phone? Or if you don't use Motoblur, which home replacement do you use instead and why? I don't use MB. I use Go Launcher instead. I don't think MB is bad. It's just a matter of personal preference really, mainly because I prefer to have 5 icons in the dockbar and an drawer that scrolls horizontally page by page (how do you find what you want quickly vertically?). The other customisation options - 4x5 homescreens, 5x5 app drawer that can be rearranged, transitions and skins - are also great too.

Jan 4, 2012I've had my Defy for a little more than a year...but I'm "stranger in a strange land" here in the forum, mostly because I'm neither techie nor anything close to a power user. But I do not use any of the Motoblur junk...and don't even want it on the phone. The only time I'm aware of it is when I check the list of running apps and see how many of them are Motoblur related. I'd love to be able to delete them, if only to get rid of the power drain they represent. Yet I suspect that Motorola has them all pretty much "hard wired" into the phone. Or is there some sort of less obvious, less intuitive way to get rid of the Motoblur news, weather and other crap?

However, on the phone, if I 'check for system updates', it reports the software is up to date.
Since I have an issue with the software, I'd like to update it to check for a fix. I could probably use the USB updater, but is there some reason why the phone won't do it itself ?

Apr 5, 2012I had recently purchased my first Android device, a Moto Defy+. This is not a carrier locked phone.
I use my gmail contacts as the default address book and when i signed up for Moto blur account, it somehow made a backup of all my gmail contacts on motoblur. Now, i can see the same contact details twice for every address book entry. During the backup process, motoblur deleted the leading zeros from all phone numbers. Even though gmail is my default address book, the phone picks up motoblur stored info while making calls - due to which I am now unable to make long distance calls from my phone unless i manually go and edit/delete the phone numbers from the motoblur section on the address book. needless to say, this is very irritating as i have over a 1000 contacts.
How do i delete all my contacts from the motoblur section? i do not really use the motoblur account for anything and if deleting the motoblur account is a solution, i'll be happy to do that. however, i do not want to do a factory setting restore.

Sep 20, 2011It seems every time a contact on my twitter account changes its profile picture, Motoblur simply do not show it anymore neither on the widget or the Motoblur app that the widget calls. In place of the precedent picture I then get the gray generic anonymous shadow. I'm not sure it is froyo related, but it sure started after the upgrade. I can imagine the issue coming from the Blur service on the servers and not from the phone itself.

It was not long after I took the new UK update for my phone 4.4.20 I have not recieved any emails.
