View 6 RepliesMy phone has multiple resets ad the direction of Motorola, and has been in for a circuit board replacement. Now the screen still freezes and the reception is hopeless.I am sure this handset is a lemon. It is still under warranty, 11 months old.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Defy+ only lasts for 2 days, even without actually using it (only standby and 2G network). The screen is always off. This is nowhere near the 384h as advertised. probably need to take it back to the shop but I wanted to ask if it can be fixed easily.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI changed a setting on my new Defy last night and now wish to change it back but for the life of me I can't remember how I did it! I selected that I didn't want the screen to turn off whilst charging - but now I want it to switch off. Where do I go to find this setting again??
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy screen becomes unresponsive at times even when I am not running anything, then I have to press the screen lock switch to get it back running. I tried factory reset and do not run any task killer apps, I have faced this issue with both Eclair and Froyo.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've noticed for some time now that the screen of my Defy gets really sluggish, even non-responsive, when the charger cable is plugged in.
I can't even answer calls because of that. I haven't upgraded the OS to 2.2 yet.
The touch screen is blocked several times it doesn't care any stop or on/off buttons it's necessary to take out the battery.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy defy screen just lights up then goes off after about 10 seconds, as if it is waking up to recieve a message/txt/call but then realises nothing incoming and goes back to sleep?
View 1 Replies View RelatedTotally stock Defy, upgraded to 2.2 and on its 2nd ear speaker. While in the browser the phone froze compleatly, so after waiting a while I pulled the battery, and on restarting it went straight to a bootloader screen. Then when i connect to the PC it, just changes the last line to Transfer Mode OK.I have tried the Start button and Volume rocker switch, but this seems to do nothing. Please tell my "Life proof" phone isn't dead before my 2 year contract is up!? I have tried googling, but all the help I can find, seems to be for people who are rooting their Devices, I would just like to state that is not what I was, or am trying to do.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to update my phone defy to Android 2.2. I have installed the Mororola Software Update but when I start the program it just opens as a blank white screen, I am guessing that it is not supposed to do that? Windows XP SP3 if that helps
I have tried uninstalling everything and re installing it all again, opening the software when the phone is connected already and connecting the phone once the software is running. When I close the software and the phone is connected the phone restarts.
when i turn my phone on, the display screen stops working. also the touch feature has stopped working, i can receive calls, but not make any calls as the home screen doesn't respond at all. the model is motorola defy plus.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy new DEFY+ has got a strange problem. When on the original charger the touch-screen is nearly not working.Even pickin-up the phone is impossible.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhy is my Home Screen still the same after hard reset? the position of the widgets and stuff.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just recently got this phone. There is some dust under the screen and behind the camera lens.
View 6 Replies View RelatedFrom the first day I began using my DEFY (about 2 months ago) I have experienced a great deal of unresponsiveness with my touchscreen. Generally, when the phone goes into Locked/ Sleep mode I will attempt to unlock it and the screen will be unresponsive.Sometimes I'll be able to unlock it and then it will be unresponsive to touch. Most of the time, pressing the Sleep button and re-unlocking it will solve the problem, TEMPORARILY.
This is a frequent occurance and has gotten to the point where it significantly impacts my ability to use the phone effectively.Especially when I receive an incoming call that I am unable to answer because the screen does not respond.Motorola experts, would you recommend sending the phone in for warranty service? Are there any firmware upgrades I need to address this?
My Defy has an odd problem whereby every so often I am not able to move apps around the home screen, or add new ones. If I click and hold on an existing app icon, or an app in the drawer, then I get the vibration as normal and I can drag the app around the screen but:I never get the green highlight showing new places where I can put the icon, andI can't drag to another page of the home screen: the side bars never turn green to let me flip to the next page.I also can't resize widgets like the clock or weather when it gets in this state. The only way I've found to clear this fault is to reboot the phone, which is a bit of a pain.
View 1 Replies View Related'bog standard' defy's screen didn't activate when I was called, it rang but the screen didn't react to tapping or swiping, I was able to answer the call by pressing the on off button (seems to have woken the phone up) but then no swiping was required the call was directly active!?This has only happened a couple of times, I do have a screen foil on, but this has a cut out where the sensor is for the 'up to ear detection'.
View 2 Replies View RelatedGot My Defy 2 days back. Last night it rained heavily and I had to walk from my office to home. It was a 30-35 minute walk. I put my Defy in my pocket and started walking thinking its a water proof phone. When I reached home, first the phone's screen didn't respond to any touch. After a minute it went completely black and I could see heavy moisture under the glass. Only sensors were throwing some colored lights. I tried to call from my friend's phone on my number, and I could listen to the ringtone only. I could not pick up the call since there was nothing at all on screen. Today I put the phone in rice for around 8 hours still the condition is same. Its very unfortunate that I could use and explore my phone properly even for 2-3 days.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have had to reset my phone using the factory reset option after it started doing some strange things. This is the second time I have had problems - the first after installing a few apps (only 2 - a free pool game and a free solitaire game), the second was after my niece surfed some possibly suss sites looking for Santa jokes! It may also have been installed apps causing the problems - I installed the app for the NSW Live Traffic.
So now, as soon as I make/dial/place a call (hit the green phone), the screen closes or goes black, and I have to press the power button to reactivate the screen. If I do this quickly, the actual screen lock has not yet activated, but if I do it after a few seconds I also need to swipe.
I cannot locate any setting which seems to be causing this. Last time I factory reset the phone, I didn't get this issue, so it may be something which is still installed which is causing the problem. I have tried uninstalling the NSW Live Traffic app plus anything else which wasn't part of the phone's operating system.
setting up auto-fetching applies to all email accounts. I swear on my 2.1 Spice XT300, the auto-retrieval was by email address (and also the smallest interval between fetches was 5 minutes, not 15 like on the Defy). I have never used 2.1 on the Defy; mine was original 2.2.1.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI often switch the feature to have to slide the screen lock to use the phone on or off. It's currently off and I can't find the menu item to turn it on again! Where was it again? I've got a standard Motorola Defy 2.2.By the way - the only reason I'm always switching it around is because when I'm expecting a lot of calls/texts, I turn it on. Because when I get a text and the phone's in my pocket, I often press something when taking it out as getting a text/call unlocks the screen. For the rest of the time - I find it irritating to have to press the power button and then slide the screen - why both? It's not like it's hard to accidentally press the power button on the Defy!In a way - that "in pocket detection" option sounds ideal but I found it kept cutting in when I didn't want it to.Maybe I can do something with that "tasker" app so that when I press the power button, it unlocks the screen.where is that screen lock option again?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy week old defy+ has a tiny gap between the screen and the bezel edge, about a pin heads width apart. Not noticible, but after living in a pocket dust gets stuck in there. Is this normal? What should I do?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had my Defy for almost a year and avoid sending text because the screen is not touch sensitive. It is pretty constant. I have to just about bash the screen to get any response when trying to input text. It also happens when trying to answer the phone or select apps.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen making a call with my Defy, when i tap the send button a redish LED light flashes at the top left of the front screen.
View 2 Replies View Related1. Set up a code for your screen lock
2. Wait till the phone is "asleep"
3. Call the phone
The phone app freezes on my device, I cannot receive the call. Long clicking on the power button and toggling the Silent option the phone app crashes. Are there others having this issue? I saw a thread about this for Defy (sans plus). If so, has this been fixed with the software update that is available for eg. German users? In Scandinavia Motorola is still not offering any software update My device is running 45.0.1370 Nordic Retail EU.

View 2 Replies View RelatedUpgraded the update and the home screen and the icons in the bottom for Menu, Dialler, Contacts did not change. why is that so? when I saw the Android Users guide on Google for 2.2 it has changed from eclair,
How to change it to Froyo from the screen itself they are saying that you are running Eclair Not froyo. After upgrading to Froyo the battery is not so good. How to calibrate the battery
Is there any way for this (or) i have to do a discharge and charge the battery a couple of times. Now also My battery goes from 20% to 70% when i switch on the phone.
I have a problem with music stopping playing when the screen on my Defy locks.
It does it whether using the speaker or headphones. I never used to do this and I'm wondering whether I've clicked something in settings /preferences that is making it shut down the player.
I'm running Froyo on the DEFY. The issue is that the phone freezes while charging. The screen and the softkeys are inactive whereas the power button still functions correctly. It automatically opens/touches whatever is at the middle of the screen. I tried charging with a blackberry charger, and faced the same problem. But when I tried my brother's Samsung charger it worked just fine. And these were at different power outlets. So is it an issue with the charging unit?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI brought my Defy in October 2011. Since then it was four times at service. Dust keep entering behind the screen, mainly at the top left corner. Two times they cleaned it and replaced some rubber parts there. Nothing changed, after one or two weeks the dust appeared again. I asked them to send me a new one, but they refused it. A month ago they send me back the same phone without even cleaning it with notes that I'm using it in highly dusted environment against the IP67 (which is theoretically impossible in my country) Now, the whole upper part of the screen is dusted (see photo) and the screws are damaged due to the continuous repairs.
