Motorola Defy+ :: Tiny Gap Between Screen And Bezel Catching Dust?
Mar 27, 2012
My week old defy+ has a tiny gap between the screen and the bezel edge, about a pin heads width apart. Not noticible, but after living in a pocket dust gets stuck in there. Is this normal? What should I do?
I brought my Defy in October 2011. Since then it was four times at service. Dust keep entering behind the screen, mainly at the top left corner. Two times they cleaned it and replaced some rubber parts there. Nothing changed, after one or two weeks the dust appeared again. I asked them to send me a new one, but they refused it. A month ago they send me back the same phone without even cleaning it with notes that I'm using it in highly dusted environment against the IP67 (which is theoretically impossible in my country) Now, the whole upper part of the screen is dusted (see photo) and the screws are damaged due to the continuous repairs.
My phone has multiple resets ad the direction of Motorola, and has been in for a circuit board replacement. Now the screen still freezes and the reception is hopeless.I am sure this handset is a lemon. It is still under warranty, 11 months old.
I have a Nokia 2760 device. I broke it today and can see nothing on the screen except from a tiny part of the screen. I can still switch it on, and it seems to work fine apart from the screen. What I want to do is navigate to the settings and switch on Bluetooth (make myself visible) so I can get all my pictures of with my computer. What are the exact keys I would have to press to do this. These pictures are really important to me
My Defy+ only lasts for 2 days, even without actually using it (only standby and 2G network). The screen is always off. This is nowhere near the 384h as advertised. probably need to take it back to the shop but I wanted to ask if it can be fixed easily.
Recently got a blackberry bold 9700 as a gift. Noticed that a very tiny icon comes up near the upper left corner of the screen. Looks like a box or briefcase with a red circle on the top right corner of the icon, either with a white star or arrow in it. Its too small to say for sure. Can't find any answers in the manuals or online.
I found there is a very little tiny white dot that I doubt might be a dead pixel on my iphone 4s screen. It hard to notice only when the screen turns totally black such as power off and on the iPhone. I've just bought my iPhone 4s January from the Yoobee and I covered the screen with protective film once I had bought the phone. Do I really need to get a replacement?
I changed a setting on my new Defy last night and now wish to change it back but for the life of me I can't remember how I did it! I selected that I didn't want the screen to turn off whilst charging - but now I want it to switch off. Where do I go to find this setting again??
1) Does anyone know what the tiny icon on the top portion of the home screen that looks like a miniture BB phone with a tiny button on its side means? Showed up yesterday. 2) Yesterday I had a line that stated "Mike Grasso's Network" on the home screen, now that's gone.
My screen becomes unresponsive at times even when I am not running anything, then I have to press the screen lock switch to get it back running. I tried factory reset and do not run any task killer apps, I have faced this issue with both Eclair and Froyo.
My defy screen just lights up then goes off after about 10 seconds, as if it is waking up to recieve a message/txt/call but then realises nothing incoming and goes back to sleep?
Totally stock Defy, upgraded to 2.2 and on its 2nd ear speaker. While in the browser the phone froze compleatly, so after waiting a while I pulled the battery, and on restarting it went straight to a bootloader screen. Then when i connect to the PC it, just changes the last line to Transfer Mode OK.I have tried the Start button and Volume rocker switch, but this seems to do nothing. Please tell my "Life proof" phone isn't dead before my 2 year contract is up!? I have tried googling, but all the help I can find, seems to be for people who are rooting their Devices, I would just like to state that is not what I was, or am trying to do.
I have a problem with my Blackberry Curve 9380 the screen is all black and white and the icons are shrimped and very tiny?I can't watch my video's I can't go on blackberry messenger, what can I do?Should I go to the shop that sold me the phone?
Lately, I've found out that dust has developed under my screen, it shows mostly in the sun. It's kinda annoying that you can't get rid of it, I used to think it was on my screen, but when I tried to wipe it off it won't go - that means it's under the screen. I heard you could get your Xperia changed in the first few weeks if that happens, but it's been 4 months since I bought it - I mean who would develop dust under his screen in the first few weeks?
Is there a way to get the dust from behind the screen on the Chocolate 3? I know a few phones you can pop the screen cover off, but I wasn't sure if you could with the Chocolate 3. Anyone else have this problem?
On my screen I have a white shaded dot. Its under the glass because it cant be wipped off or seen on an angle.
Its only 2 mm across. It cant be seen with a black screen but you can see it on a white background like the google home page.So I dont think its a pixal problem. I dont see dust on the edges or any where else other then this white dot.Is it dust or something else?
I am trying to update my phone defy to Android 2.2. I have installed the Mororola Software Update but when I start the program it just opens as a blank white screen, I am guessing that it is not supposed to do that? Windows XP SP3 if that helps
I have tried uninstalling everything and re installing it all again, opening the software when the phone is connected already and connecting the phone once the software is running. When I close the software and the phone is connected the phone restarts.
when i turn my phone on, the display screen stops working. also the touch feature has stopped working, i can receive calls, but not make any calls as the home screen doesn't respond at all. the model is motorola defy plus.
From the first day I began using my DEFY (about 2 months ago) I have experienced a great deal of unresponsiveness with my touchscreen. Generally, when the phone goes into Locked/ Sleep mode I will attempt to unlock it and the screen will be unresponsive.Sometimes I'll be able to unlock it and then it will be unresponsive to touch. Most of the time, pressing the Sleep button and re-unlocking it will solve the problem, TEMPORARILY.
This is a frequent occurance and has gotten to the point where it significantly impacts my ability to use the phone effectively.Especially when I receive an incoming call that I am unable to answer because the screen does not respond.Motorola experts, would you recommend sending the phone in for warranty service? Are there any firmware upgrades I need to address this?
My Defy has an odd problem whereby every so often I am not able to move apps around the home screen, or add new ones. If I click and hold on an existing app icon, or an app in the drawer, then I get the vibration as normal and I can drag the app around the screen but:I never get the green highlight showing new places where I can put the icon, andI can't drag to another page of the home screen: the side bars never turn green to let me flip to the next page.I also can't resize widgets like the clock or weather when it gets in this state. The only way I've found to clear this fault is to reboot the phone, which is a bit of a pain.
